Fist off, I LOVE Chick-fil-A, especially the one near my home in Laurel off 198. However, on Saturday(1÷30÷2016) evening around 8ish, I stood in line for a ½ an hour(only because my mother insisted), while I watched a bunch of cooks in the back(around 4) moving like molasses, ONLYTWODAMN people on the register while the line was to the door. I watched 2 managers ignore the line and take their time re-stocking the condiment station(EVENTHOUGHTHEYASKANDGIVEYOUTHOSEATTHEREGISTER) in the middle of the mêlée’, while another«manager» took his time making milk shakes(ONLY!!!) at the pace of a sloth. The French fries I received were the exact same ones I saw when I first arrived, sat for 30 minutes and were waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to salty. Again I love Chick-fil-A, perhaps this was just 1 bad day, but the managers lack of concern or participation helping the other take or fill orders was offensive. I also wondered why it took 2 grown men to re-fill some condiment packets(huge mis-waste of time). Plus there is no parking. I will avoid but may try again if I am desperate. On a positive: the cashiers were very apologetic & friendly and my sandwich was awesome.

Quick service, clean and neat, the chicken is what you’d expect, and good amount of seating for a weeknight. It’s right next to DCUSA and across from the metro, so super convenient if you just finish a night of shopping or happen to be in Columba Heights.

Full disclosure, my little brother’s first job was @ Chick Fil A. So from time to time, he’d bring home extra sandwiches. Unfortunately the good folks at CFA did not move my brother to DC or give me free sandwiches. Though I am available for free sandwiches. Dorothea, we’re not in Texas anymore. When someone told the founder that a fried chicken breast with a two pickles on a lightly buttered roll was so simple, he’s reported to have said, «That’s why I was able to do it» That’s all it is. Pressure fried chicken breast sandwiches. You could get fancy or go for grilled or «Throw some Cheese On It», but why mess with a good thing? Arguably there are other fried chicken breast sandwiches at other places that are as good or better.(I for one can’t think of any) The real interesting thing about CFA has always been the service. I’m not exactly sure what they do to unruly Texas teenagers and get them to respond the same way to every customer. But it’s eerie. It’s actually disconcerting. And all over the South, they all respond the same way. It’s like someone came up with a way to brainwash teenagers into constraining their youthful energy and always be cheery. That doesn’t happen at McDonald’s. You’ll even run into surly Whole Foods employees. CFA is the Nordstrom’s of the fast food chicken business. So would it work here in DC? Typical DC service is part Southern and part Northern. Southern — Slow and sweet Northern — «Brusque» but efficient So DC is usually Slow and Brusque. What would this Chick Fil A experience be like? *Orders #3, with waffle fries, and lemonade.* *crosses fingers* — Cashier was nice and courteous. — I was informed that they would be out of ketchup until Monday. She did offer me other sauces. — tried to upsell me on the fries,(good job), but missed an opportunity on the chocolate chip cookie.(they’re usually great, but I didn’t think to ask for one, and don’t remember seeing one) — Teenagers were slightly teenaging behind the counter — not sure if that was half a Milly Rock or a smidgen of Dab, but not egregiously like at say Krispy Kreme at Dupont Circle.(oh yeah, shots fired.) Food didn’t take long to come out. And the youngsta that brought it to me was nice and courteous with the exchange. Color me astonished. CFA might be the real deal here in DC.

This Chik-fil-a is amazing! The service is exceptional and they know how to handle the crowd that they’ve handled non-stop(from what I can tell!) since opening! The décor is classy and the restaurant is very clean and maintained. Everyone should try the honey roasted BBQ sauce — it’s a hidden gem!

Was at a Chick-fil-a for the first time. The restaurant was clean and many people were standing in line. The sandwich I had tasted really good. However, their waiting area system is a disaster! They ask for your name, then you have to wait in the designated area until they bring your order. There’s no screen and no one is yelling your name so basically they are walking around with your order and guessing who is the person they are looking for. As the cashier forgot my name, they just didn’t show up with my order for over 10 minutes and just let it stand around. When I asked for it, they gave it to me but unfortunately my food was already cold. Didn’t want to throw it away and thus didn’t ask for a new one, though. This system needs serious improvement!

This new location was fantastic. Very orderly setup as far as waiting in line and the service was great. There was also an employee who came around and gave out free candy canes for the holidays! Two thumbs up.

Never had Chic-fil-A and I was not disappointed. While in line my friend told me Chic-fil-A is not fast food and he was right. The quality of everything was great and fresh. It did not feel heavy or cheap like a typical fast food burger. The line was very well organized despite the huge line outside the door. The service was fast and there were enough seats for every costumer. I can’t wait to come back

Welp! It finally happened… Chick-fil-A has come to Columbia Heights! I know this is a way late review but I did go on the official opening day earlier this month. It was insane seeing folks line up the day before but when I realized that they were there to be the first 100 or so to get free weekly meals for a year… ok fair enough but I wouldn’t have done it myself… and hello it was in the middle of a work week… I do NOT have that kind of time. Anyways, despite the politics mired in Chick-fil-A…all I really wanted was a chicken sandwich and that’s that. The restaurant is at a prime location right on 14th near the entrance of DCUSA, the actual space is small but long and despite even the line creeping just outside when I went, it moved relatively quickly and I was able to order. The menu is no surprise especially if you have been to a Chick-fil-A and once you pay, you are assigned and given a long colored cup where they put your sauces in. The area you wait can be a bit of a huddle and looks disorganized with people randomly just standing there… but seems like the workers have a system going and they can figure out who you are based on your colored cup. And in starbucks style, they shout your name out if they can’t find you. So what did we order: 2 number 1 Chicken bites Vanilla shakes Simple…yet delish. Noooow I just have to go to the gym to work it off. Once again, leave the politics of the national corporation at the door and all you get is really fast food from a local franchise trying to make it work. I applaud this particular franchise though for wanting to step up and ensure their goals of participating and supporting the Columbia Heights neighborhood.

By default, chick-fil-a received 5 stars for really being the only quality fast food chain. The location itself gets 5 stars as well. Staff is attentive, the lines are quick(even when out the door), and the entire place is kept flawlessly clean. Thank god lime left the space — there is no competition for Spicy Chicken Deluxe. One day my Sunday cravings for Chick-fil-a will be met. But meh, I can live with out it in the interim. Will definitely be in my rotation on the random craving night. My one suggestion is to keep the store open an hour or so later so we have a place to run too when everywhere else shuts down(Cava, Panda, Chipotle, etc). But that’s probably a corporate thing. Oh well. Eat more CHIKN!

Why is this the first Chick Fil A to open in the district. And surprisingly, they have their S**T together. I think everyone in the near CoHi area has been awaiting this opening for… years. And not to dissapoint. They have the line well organized at all hours of the day — taking orders ahead of time and then while you wait for your food they identify you with a colored and labeled bucket looking thing. Fast service, even with a line. And seriously how can you go wrong at Chick-Fil-A. I get the spicy with Chick-fil-A sauce but it is all delicious. They also have a food truck in the area. Large amount of seats if you want to stay. My only complaints are the refills require you to go back to the counter and they are closed on Sunday… but then again there were no surprises here. Good location in CoHi right by Target and the metro! Staff is always nice and ready to help.

It’s on 14th street in Columbia heights. Hell yes it’s gonna be busy. It’s DC so real estate is expensive so hell yes it’s not as big as other CFA. But it has the same excellent customer service. Shout out to Sharonda and Cecilia for excellent customer service today when my food was clearly given to someone else and I sat there waiting and waiting. Sharonda came to check on me as she could see my face was hungry and flustered at the same time. She hustled with my receipt to the front of the store to investigate. Hustled back again to ask me more questions and went back to the front to investigate. I’ve never seen an employee make such an effort but in a chick-fil-A you can believe it. She was clearly getting a lot of guff from whomever was handing out the food because they weren’t trying to be helpful as she was trying to resolve this. Thank you Sharonda for making an effort. The food is great. The seating is limited. I haven’t visited the bathrooms here nor do I hope to. You can park in garage that is as cheap as $ 1.50 for an hour. This location is right near the yellow and green line at Columbia heights too. I definitely plan to go back.

If there’s one fast food restaurant to give a solid 5-star to, it’s Chick-Fil-A. For fast food, the food is quality and you’ll be served your chicken sandwich with care and a genuine smile. I highly recommend the Spicy Chicken Sandwich(To save a few calories, ask for no butter and a wheat bun– it tastes the same), waffle fries(The European in me gets light mayo to dip them in), and the honey roasted BBQ sauce(You have to special request this as they keep it behind the counter). They keep the restaurant clean and inviting with plenty of seating. They fun the place with efficiency so no matter how long the line, you won’t wait long. I also commend Chick-Fil-A for converting to organic Honest Kids in their kids meals. Woo hoo! Welcome to DC, Chick-Fil-A. Happy Chick-Fil-A-ing!

Chick-fil-A is delicious, so I was super excited when this one opened near my house! I went on opening day and expected a total madhouse, but the staff did an excellent job at keeping the line moving quickly. All of the staff were friendly and professional, even with the chaos of opening day. The person who helped me at the counter was especially amazing and patient, I think his name was Jessie. Thank you! I’ll definitely be back.

Obviously just opened up this week but they’ve dealt with the busy crowds relatively well, while maintaining quality. Location is definitely great, right outside the metro and near other restaurants. Prices also good.

Great location, right next to the CoHi metro, target, BB&B and WSC. Now I can workout in the AM and then replace the calories burned with the Chick-Fil-A. Only wish they were open on Sundays though.
