I’m not sure if it’s a function of the volume of people they have come through here, or what, but I’ve unfortunately had more misses than hits here. Recently had a double steak salad(hey, I’m off grains and sugars, I needed some calories) and the meat was quite tough. Almost fatty/gristle-y. The salad base ingredients were fine as always, but if I’m coughing up money for these proteins, I’d like them to at least be more edible. Spat out the last bite because I just kinda«ka-chunked» on my last piece and was Done with the struggle. It’s an A-OK place, though, and that’s what 3 stars are called on Unilocal,so 3 stars it is. I’m going to come back and give it another shot in the future. They have an excellent online ordering system, though, and it’s only missed once in recent memory(everyone makes mistakes), so I suggest ordering to-go and sparing yourself the pressure of having to pick your ingredients while 50 people are behind you in line. If you DO order online, skip the line, walk to the cashier, and do your pickup. Tip: I think if you order before noon, you get a free 5th base ingredient. Although, in the words of Toby from The West Wing, «You could smother this thing in BBQ sauce, and it’ll still taste like the ground.» But that’s just because I’m currently on salads, and bitter over it. ;)

It’s been awhile since I had a Chop’t salad, but I was in the mood for some nutrition and stopped by. It appears they’ve moved to smaller portions(though no smaller prices), since a few years back. On the plus side, I now see mention of locally-sourced ingredients. Perhaps competition from Sweetgreen has led them to up their game. The fuzzy(?) Greek salad I had was good — still more than enough salad, when added to the chicken, lentils, quinoa, nachos, feta(?), etc. that it came with. They seem to have limited selections of greens aside from romaine(this was a rare salad that had kale and spinach), and almost every salad has cheese. That said, it’s probably no worse than other options if you are wanting to keep a new years’ resolution(assuming you go easy on the dressing!).

I love Chop’t(see my 5* review of their Metro Center location, which I’d also give to other locations around town). I like their Kale Caesar salad and frequently create my own salads, which always turn out fantastic. This location though… not great. it’s convenient though, and I frequently stop by here at the end of the day for a quick dinner salad. It’s always empty but despite that the service is always incredibly slow(unlike all other Chop’t stores that are killing it during rush hour — so efficient!) At this location, every time I come in, it takes several minutes for staff to acknowledge that they have a customer. That, and I’m yet to see someone friendly and remotely enthusiastic working here…

This place is OK but I prefer the Protein Bar. I have had a couple of different salads here and they were each OK to pretty good tasting. What kind of annoys me about this place is that they ask you if you want something without disclosing the adding cost. Take today for example — my friend thought one of the options described on a board sounded good. At no point did any of the of folks putting it together for her disclose the added costs and she was surprised when her total was close to $ 20. Other places with the assembly style menu 1) do a better job at letting you know about the added costs of items and 2) don’t seem to have so many additional costs. I don’t mind paying extra for something I want when I know about the added charge but I do mind that Chop’t does not really disclosure them. I don’t want the register to be guessing game. While the salads are good I have a feeling of distrust toward the brand, at least at this location. I have not been to the one of F St in a while but might give it a try just for a comparison.

I love chopt. They can do no wrong. Kebab cob with the Taziki dressing or the po’boy are two you can never go wrong with. The new bowls are a little more filling than the average salad for when you’re a little extra hungry. The ever changing destination salads are also a nice way to try something new without being TOO adventurous.

I will not be going back. I’ve ordered a salad from here via Seamless every other week or so for about 6 months. My order has been incorrect several times within the last few weeks.(And they can’t blame Seamless, because the order is printed out in front of them! There’s no option for error there!) Their manager is unapologetic and frankly pretty rude. It’s frustrating to pay for extras and then realize you didn’t get them. I order online because their line is huge and I’m in a rush. I’m not the only one either — when waiting for them to fix my order(defeating the purpose of ordering ahead!) I’m usually standing next to some one else waiting for their order to be fixed as well. The food is good if you have time to wait during peak orders(expect the line to be out the door) and most of their employees are very sweet, especially given how crazy it can be in there.

I had to give Chopt another shot. I was given the tip to mix the Mexican Goddess dressing with the Buttermilk Ranch which was ridiculously good. I’ll still miss the Creamy Sriracha but this is definitely a strong alternative.

Asked for the new braised Greek salad; the employee did not appear to have the braised greek chicken and substituted the Mexican chicken tinga without asking. He also left off the red wine vinaigrette, lied about adding it when I asked, and did not offer salt and pepper. There was no one behind me and the place wasn’t busy; lazy, lazy, lazy employees. Last time I tried to come here I left after 5 minutes because the employee did not want to end his conversation with the girl ahead in line. Good salads(when they’re made correctly) but this is a very disappointing location and not worth your time.

I have been to this location twice now. Both times have been great! Although the lines were long, it didn’t take long to get a salad just like I like it! I’ll go here for lunch again, today.

I love this place. Think, Chipotle for salad. We need a few of these in the Bay Area.

I work nearby and have been here around 10 times. Good, quick salads with lots of options. Staff is nice and works quickly, which I appreciate. Nice work!

My colleague reminded me of this place as a meal option near our homes. After working out last night, I decided to run up to my place and put on a half zip pullover to layer on top of my tank and shorts. After all, it was in the low 50s last night, and even though Chop’t is a mere three minute walk from my place, I didn’t want to look crazier by just walking out in shorts and a tank. I had looked up the menu before so I had an idea of what to expect. While it wasn’t entirely clear where the line, or lack thereof, started or ended, since there was only one other patron, I just stood by and waited until it was my turn. One lady took my order and answered my question of whether I could add chicken to my Santa Fe salad. She said yes but I would have to pay extra, which I was fine with since I am on a no carbs challenge this week. I also requested the Harvest Cobb salad for lunch. That came with chicken and was $ 9.49 without tax. Both salads were made within minutes. Rachel, who ended up putting the finishing touches on my salads and rang me up, asked if she had chopped my salad enough and poured enough dressing. She also asked whether I wanted salt and pepper. Next time, I will ask them to go light on the dressing. The sweet and smoky Chipotle vinaigrette, while delicious, was overpowering the greens. Luckily, Rachel had given me some extra romaine for that salad. I’m worried about the Harvest Cobb as I’ll be eating that for lunch later today. I’m hoping it’ll be good although this morning I did notice a lot of beet coloring the greens. :-) So, at over $ 22 for two salads and two pieces of flatbread, this is pricey but since I usually grab a salad from CVS for about $ 6, and those salads are smaller and less fresh, Chop’t is definitely an alternative to consider, especially given its options, proximity, and hours(they are open until 8:30 pm every night). FYI, when I came in around 6 pm, there was only one person sitting in the restaurant. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying the Chop’t Po’Boy and Steakhouse salads. They also have three Destination Salads here. On the website, they say every 60 days, 3 new special are unveiled, so hurry over if you want to try them. They also do delivery, but I am not sure if there is a minimum order requirement.

One of my usual lunch locations. Good option for when I feel guilty and want to eat a little healthier.

I just spent 10 minutes signing up for Unilocal to write my first review ever. This location is horrible. When I got there, 5 customers were ahead of me in line. There were 2 employees taking orders, 2 employees making salads, and 3 employees standing around. It took a full 30 minutes to get my salad and pay. During that time, they made me the wrong salad TWICE and had to start from scratch. How does that happen?! Every other location I have been to has been quick and easy. Avoid this one like the plague.

I believe this Chop’t location opened somewhat recently. I visited for the first time last week and I absolutely LOVED it! It’s a hard decision because there are so many great salad places in DC, but I think Chop’t may very well be my new favorite salad place. I always order their steakhouse salad now with Bacon Russian dressing and it is so fantastic. The ingredients are always fresh. At this particular location, the service is friendly and efficient, even though they get thousands of customers streaming in every day. Their lunch hour is particularly busy, but I’ve thankfully found seating in there. And if not inside, this restaurant is right next to the Navy memorial, so if it’s a nice day out, you can sit out right by the fountain and enjoy your food.

I recently found out that Chop’t has an online order delivery service and just had to try it out! I ordered the Modern Asian salad with a choco chip cookie and after about 40 min the delivery guy(his name is Kevin) arrived and wanted to make sure he was giving me the right salad order so opened up the bag to check it out and pulled out a bowl filled only half way with finely diced wilted soggy lettuce and barely any add-ins. He immediately told me I could take the salad but he would be going back and making me a fresh salad himself. He came back 30 min later with a delicious crisp salad… a few cookies and a green tea drink too! I was very thankful and impressed with his service! Kevin. you da man!

I’ve been to this Chop’t frequently since my office is next door. I was inspired to write a review today because I had a very good experience with the new management of the store. I ordered a salad«sandwich», which is basically a regular salad wrapped in a huge tortilla, and was surprised by how small it was. It basically had half the veggies you normally get in the salad. Although I noticed it, I didn’t say anything. When I went to pay, the manager looked at the wrap and said«that looks really small, it’s supposed to be twice the size». Without me even asking, she ordered a new salad sandwich and even gave me the small one for free. That’s what I call good customer service. Kudos to the company for hiring new management. On the food side, I love their salads — their veggies are fresh and tasty, and they have a wide variety of options. Perfect place to go for a tasty healthy lunch ! Last but not least, they have a lot of outdoor seating overlooking the Navy Memorial, great to sit outside and enjoy people watching.

Great, fresh ingredients! The wrap was so big I didn’t think I’d finish… but it was so good, I couldn’t stop. Good selection to choose from and a nice healthy option. It is a little pricey for what it is, but it’s DC, I’ve come to expect that. This location is great if you’re hitting the Smithsonians or the Navy Memorial. I’ll be going back!

Oh-em-gee. Why didn’t I find out about this place before? This was my first experience at a Chop’t, even though I knew they were here — I just never really took the time to find about them before. They just opened this one by my workplace, and I discovered it purely by accident looking for another place to eat(which ended up being closed). It doesn’t matter, because I’m so glad I chose here. The line confused me at first, but I quickly got the hang of it and ordered a Steakhouse salad with Spa Tex-Mex dressing on the side. I’m very, very, VERY glad that they put the dressing on the side, because I think I had a look of horror on my face when I saw that they were getting ready to squirt it right on there and the woman looked at me and was like, «You want it on the side?» Thank you SO much for asking me!!!(Hey, I know it’s a low-cal dressing but I like to taste salad, too, you know.) The salad(and dressing) were absolutely DELICIOUS. There’s a LOT of variety here, almost too much so, and I felt my head spinning with all of the choices. One thing is for sure — I definitely see myself coming back again and again to try them out. The only thing that keeps it from being a 5 star Monty is the price. 10 bucks is a little steep for a salad(though admittedly worth it), so I can’t make this an everyday thing. Every week, however, well… Excellent option for«healthier» fare here, and it’ll join the Protein Bar in my rotation for D.C. lunches. Now open one in Baltimore. Please. Really, I’ll eat your salads forever if you do.

This is a great, brand new location of Chop’t. They are even more efficient than other locations in the city as they mostly serve people during their lunch break. The salads are great… and you can customize them! Know what you want to order before you get to the front of the line because this location is serious. Has some indoor and outdoor seating.
