It was our first trip to DC and our first time staying at a B&B. Laura and Raymond set the bar high and exceeded all expectations.
I highly recommend staying here. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and quiet. This is the perfect getaway spot.

My girlfriend and I live in Washington, DC and decided to celebrate her birthday with a night at the Kennedy Center and a stay at the Embassy Circle Guest House. From the minute we walked in to the minute we left we could not have been made to feel more at home. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and accommodating. Laura and Raymond were incredible hosts and offer an experience unlike any other we’ve experienced anywhere.
The guest house itself is exquisite. We found out at breakfast that Laura and Raymond built the place themselves (they also own a construction company), and you can tell that they poured their hearts into every detail. They’ve struck a unique balance of comfort and elegance where despite the high level of finishes and appointments, you can still kick back, relax, and be yourself.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough and can’t wait for our next excuse to spend an evening here!

This has to be the best place to stay in DC. It was great to get away from the Capitol Hill area, to come home to a lovely house on a tree lined street, to be able to make a cup of tea or have a coffee at the end of a long day. Laura and all her staff were exceptionally helpful and kind — nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are very comfortable and well furnished, as are the bathrooms. The breakfast is fantastic, and I only wish I could have stayed longer than the two nights — it feels like one is staying at a friend’s house. It’s just down the road from the Phillips Collection, and walking distance to several good restaurants, and a quick cab ride to Georgetown and other locations. Don’t look further. This is the best.

Best B&B experience ever! The location is awesome, situated in beautiful old DC neighborhood, step out the door and take a stroll. You are within a few bugs of the Metro, and you are within walking distance of dozens of excellent restaurants.
Your hosts are delightful, and the accommodations outstanding. If you’re r headed to DC definitely book your stay here.

My husband and I had an excellent time at the Embassy Circle Guest House. It’s a beautiful neighborhood, a beautiful home & room (we got to peek at several rooms – they’re all beautiful), delicious breakfast & snacks, wonderful company & Laura & the staff was so helpful and accommodating. Loved chatting books with Laura on our way out. Such a pleasant stay! We’d love to stay there again soon.

It was simply exquisite! The Innkeepers Laura and Raymond, along with their staff, made our stay most memorable.
Celebrating my husband’s birthday over Valentine’s Day weekend was fun, but a bit of a challenge also due to the inclement weather D. C was having. There were only a few brave souls out in the storm, and to the kindness of Laura and Raymond, we were able to celebrate by staying in, with them, over great laughter, sharing delicious food and some incredible wine. It turned out that we had an even better evening of fun and romance than if we had gone out to celebrate on our own. What we came to conclude is this, Raymond and Laura, both committed to serving their guests with great love and care, are also twin flames who are very much in love. We sincerely believe that these two kindred spirits must have been brought together by the hands of Heaven.
Since we stay at B&B’s wherever we travel, we can most assuredly say to anyone who is comparing the Embassy Circle Guest House to other lodging in the area, that this is one of the finest we have had the pleasure to come to know. Their breakfast invites you each morning with wonderful food, fresh hot coffee (and several choices of brews they have!), and exciting guests. Since this guest house is only but a mile or so from the White House, it draws many interesting people from all over the world. As such, we were able to meet several couples from all different geographic locations which kept the conversations alive, very real and colorful.
We know we’ll be back sometime, it’s just soon we hope.

Laura, Raymond and Staff were amazing. It is the best Bed and Breakfast you will ever stay at. Laura’s attention to detail is phenomenal. The meals are delicious and the rooms are impeccably furnished and super clean.

Wonderful B & B! Favorite place to stay in the district now. Great innkeepers make you feel welcome and take care of your every need. Wine and snacks every afternoon and fun conversation with the other residents. Conveniently located within easy walking distance of White House, restaurants, DuPont Circle. We’ll go back!

This guest house is impeccably cleaned and managed, and flexible for those like me with extra luggage and an extra long stay.
The owners live in the guest house and can accommodate any need. I loved my stay there and will return on my next visit, hopefully with less luggage.

I stayed at the Embassy Circle Guest House last week while in DC for a conference.
What a gem this place was!
Laura and her staff were warm, accommodating and helpful. The guest house was beautifully furnished, elegant and cosy. I felt like I was staying with friends — not a stuffy hotel.
I couldn’t have been more happy with my experience and will certainly be staying her next year.

My wife Catherine & I stayed here back in April and I have been remiss for not writing a review at the time. I can honestly say this was the best B&B we have stayed at. Welcome from Laura and subsequent chats over breakfast and evening drinks were very enjoyable. The room (picture 20) was just beautiful and very comfortable. I did not speak with Raymond but exchanged nods with him as we returned from an evening out. The locale has been well described by others but suffice to say it was also very charming and full of interesting shops, buildings, art galleries and great restaurants. We hope to return!

Recently stayed here and it was by far the best B&B experience I’ve ever had. The owners, Laura and Raymond were both very nice and really find joy in facilitating great conversation and helping guests get to know each other. There are no TVs or radios in the house which also helps get people out of their rooms to enjoy the rest of the house. An added value is proximity to so many nice restaurants and shopping around Dupont Circle. It’s also a quick hop via Red Line subway to The Mall and all the museums downtown.
Laura and Raymond have also done a fantastic job with the house itself. An old structure, it’s kept in perfect condition with many solid and subtle touches throughout. Coming and going is easy like a hotel but walking in after a long day is like coming home.
Great experience and I’ll definitely stay here again when in DC.

I am a bit young to be B&B-ing as much as I do. My wife and I prefer the personal touch and added value of B&Bs. The only catch is you have to do some research before you pick the place. If the place is too small, you feel like you are sleeping in some strangers guest room. If the place is too cheap, there is probably a reason: old beds, weird décor, sub-​par refreshments.
What I look for in a city B&B:
— ease of come and go. What is the key situation? Do I feel welcome to come and go as I please?
— Generous refreshments. Is there a cocktail hour or afternoon tea? Does the house do anything special before the dinner hour?
— Breakfast — Is it a real breakfast or just a plate of bagels and some cereal?
— Flexible check-​in and checkout — can you work around my schedule?
— Atmosphere — does the innkeeper keep things casual and lively rather than formal and cold?
— Can I be left alone if I want?
— Close to stuff? Can i walk or do i have to drive to get to the night life and food?
Embassy Circle Guest House went far beyond our expectations. Located a few block from Dupont Circle, this is the perfect spot for a weekend get-​away. We booked one night and were asked what time we wanted to check in. The earliest we could do was 4 but i suspect we could have gotten in earlier if we wanted.
When you pull up, the first thing you notice is the size of the house. Its huge for normal house standards, let alone one of the most expensive neighborhoods in DC. It is a stately brick mansion that is almost intimidating (in a good way). As you walk in, the main foyer feeds into a beautiful drawing room, well furnished with inviting couches and chairs and some of the most beautiful art (the owners are collectors). The drawing room and foyer both lead to the dining room which has the most striking red barn painting on the focal wall. A beautiful yet approachable dining room table sits in the middle of the room. We talk to the the innkeeper for the night who shows us to our room, gives us the rundown of the doors, locks, showers, and nearby restaurants.
Our room had a king bed, large Persian rug, fire place (not functional), two comfy arm chairs, and more amazing artwork. We had a beautiful night’s sleep.
The next morning, breakfast was between 8 and 10. We got downstairs at around 8:45. The owner knew both our names, as well as the name of everyone else at the table. There was good rich coffee, tea, and the standard milk and orange juice, The cereal went untouched by most. Most focused on the fresh fruit and yogurt, cheese (6 or 7 different types) fresh bread (3 different types) smoked salmon and capers, and some other stuff that I didn’t pay attention to because of the salmon and cheese. Finally, the highlight of the morning: mascarpone stuffed french toast (brioche bread) served with real maple syrup. Jannah and I both had to go in for seconds. By far the best B&B food we have ever been served.
During breakfast, we all sat around the table and talked about this and that. It was a very comfortable atmosphere and we all felt at ease to chime into the conversation.
Sadly, it was time for us to go. On the way out, we ended up talking to the owner for 20 minutes or so about other B&B’s we’ve been to. She printed out some suggestions and gave us a $ 50 gift card for our next 2 night stay.
This was truly a great B&B experience and I would recommend it to anyone!

A beautiful bed and breakfast and even more wonderful staff/​hosts. My husband and I stayed here for the first time this past weekend and we wished that we stayed longer, truly. We were upgraded to the Pearl Gazvin which is a King-​Bed room.
The little details that they have put into this place is incredible from the Persian rugs to even the little trinkets that sit a top the dressers to the mirror frames, the room and other spaces are not only beautiful but incredibly home-​y. We didn’t want to leave our room!
The area surrounding the bandb is also perfect. Just blocks (2 or 3) away is the most happening Connecticut Ave. with tons of restaurants, bars, shops, and activities. Close also is Georgetown, a short cab or drive away. It is a totally different side of DC. Even to walk through the area and see all the Embassy buildings is fun.
Raymond and Laura Saba, the owners/​hosts, live on the top floor so they are really a part of the experience there as well. They greeted us in the morning with incredible omelets made by Raymond himself! The beautiful breakfast spread alongside the pleasant chat with Laura and the other guests made our morning perfect in every way.
Bottom line: HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I just finished what is probably my 14^th or 15^th stay at the Embassy Circle since it first opened back in 2007. Whether I am coming to DC for business (mostly) or pleasure (occasionally), I have completely stopped considering any other place — unless the Embassy Circle is fully booked!
The Embassy Circle was essentially rebuilt from the ground up by its owners, Laura and Raymond Saba, who have decades of experience in high-​quality construction, as well as previous B&B experience with their other successful property, the Woodley Park Guest House. The attention to detail is impeccable, as are the the furniture and décor. The overall experience is superb, feeling much more like being at home than staying at an inn.
The Embassy Circle attracts a diverse, stimulating, friendly clientele, which contributes to the pleasure of each visit. Laura and Raymond’s infectious friendliness and warm hospitality fosters engaging conversations during the meals or whiie enjoying an apertíf in the early evening.
The location is extremely convenient, only a few minutes’ walk from DuPont Circle, and yet it is very quiet on a relatively small street surrounded by embassies.
In all, it is no wonder that this place is consistently ranked as the best place in DC — and that it is becoming harder to get a room here!

People who choose to stay at a bed & breakfast while on vacation do so to for the comfort, amenities and conveniences over that of a standard hotel. You see, at most sky scrapper hotels or dingy motels, you’re anonymous. People come and go, no lives are ever altered and experiences are typically forgotten at most hotel visits. A B&B is a completely different experience on a personal level.
A B&B is essentially, a home away from home. The Embassy Circle Guest House was the first B&B I’ve ever had the pleasure to stay at, although I am certain I will be hard pressed to find another B&B to live up to the standards set during this stay.
My well traveled other half took the initiative to research and ultimately, book our stay at the Embassy Circle Guest House during our recent stay in D.C. during the Cherry Blossom Festival. An excellent choice as we’d soon find out.
As we arrived, late afternoon/​early evening on a Friday, we were greeted by two warm and welcoming individuals; owners Raymond and his wife Laura. Our bags were taken from us and we were shown our room. Afterwards, we were invited downstairs for Happy Hour. In the kitchen, Raymond (of Lebanese descent) introduced us to his homemade hummus, stuffed grape leaves, baba ghanouj and more. To drink, we were offered wine and beer. A perfectly relaxing introduction to their home and the amenities to look forward to throughout our stay. Both Raymond and Laura, as well as the other guests were all helpful in making us feel right at home, providing us with restaurant recommendations and directions. Laura made a point to help us understand how to use the nearby Metro system and provided us with a helpful map to chart it’s routes.
The building itself is located among the many foreign embassy’s of Washington D.C. It wouldn’t surprise me if this building was at one point also an embassy itself. Stately Georgian architecture, yet comfortable. You could tell, this was a special building.
Location wise, it was perfect. Within walking distance to Dupont Circle and the Metro, we were surrounded by a vibrant community of restaurants and shops, and only a short Metro ride to downtown D.C. and The Mall.
The bedrooms were cozy, quiet and relaxing. Newspapers of various print and a wide selection of books were available to read. Boardgames were also available. We played Scrabble the first night we arrived. Breakfast in the morning was of homemade preparation and included everything from hard boiled eggs, soft cheeses, frittata’s, pastries, breads, fruits, yogurt, cereal as well as coffee & tea. It was served at a communal table in an elegant dinning room.
On our last day, before heading out for one last tour of downtown, Laura made sure we come back before we made the voyage back home to wash up and take back a bag of cookies. So nice, so thoughtful, so endearing. The consummate hosts indeed. The next time we come back to D.C., I look forward to staying at the Embassy Circle Guest House yet again.

When the Woodley Park Guest House is full… this is where we stay!
Great place, friendly people and fun happy hour!
Raymond helped us out when our luggage was delayed by American Airlines. We didn’t know that to do! All our clothing for a tea at the White House the next afternoon was LOST! Raymond made a few phone calls and assured us that our bags would probably show up in the middle of the night, which they did! All was well, and we were not chastised for the 3am door bell from the luggage guy.
Highly reccomend either of this lovely couple’s guest houses!

Stayed again at Embassy Circle. Last time I thought it could not be better, but I think that Raymond and Laura continue to outdo themselves. This is the most friendly and enjoyable relaxing BB I have ever been to. They continue to sweat the small things and make you feel like one of the extended family. I encourage everyone to give it a try. The only caveat is that I hope they always would have room for me. If you are going to DC and don’t desire to stay in a overpriced sterile Hotel this is the place for you.

This is the absolute best bed and breakfast I have ever stayed at.
The staff and innkeepers (Raymond and Laura) make you feel like family. This is why I don’t stay in hotels… you stay here and you will never want to stay in a hotel ever again!

We stayed 6 nights and 7 days at Embassy Circle Guest House and really enjoyed our stay.
Owners Raymond and Laura Saba are very friendly and treated us well at their bed & breakfast. They also own Woodley Park Home, another B&B. This place has been renovated & restored and just opened since May 2007.
FREE breakfast which was very nice, they make a really good fruit salad, have good cheeses, breads, pastries, oj, & coffee: Embassy Blend Coffee specially made for them. You will also meet other guest while eating breakfast together in their dining room.
The Embassy Circle B&B has 10 rooms, we stayed at room #122 which is called: Rose Tabriz. From their website: «This spacious second floor room has a queen-​size mahogany sleigh bed, a pair of comfortable armchairs and a French marqueterie writing table that extends to provide a generous work surface. This room is a great place to write a journal, a collection of poetry, or your first novel. A rose Tabriz carpet with large flowers of bronze and ivory covers the floor.
Room Rate: $ 220 — $ 240 per night plus tax.»
It’s about 5 – 10 min. walk to the Metro stop Dupont Circle, about 20 – 30 min to Georgetown, and walking distance to the Textile Museum, The Phillips Collection, lots of restaurants & stores.
