This place has gotten worse, lately I have noticed a very pungent smell of gasoline or oil in my pants, took them back but nothing changed, it is hard to communicate with employees when facing an issue, they speak very little english. really bad place with poor customer service!

I’ve taken some suits, shirts and sweaters here. They did a very good job. They put tissue papers for my sweaters before they put it on a hanger so that was a nice touch. The shirts and suits came out nice and clean. I love taking a clean perfectly ironed shirt out of the bag and wearing it.

Moved in the area around a year ago. Great small business with great service, reasonably priced, and my shirts (and pants) have never looked better. It is a neighborhood gem. I stopped using my taylor and get my pants hemmed there as well and other services that I love to be able to go to one place for instead of running around for. Great service/​Nice people; I highly, Highly recommend

To follow up. I went and picked up my dress this morning. After being promised a «huge discount» because of the inconvenience — they refused to go down on their original price of $ 35. I am highly disappointed and pissed.

DANGER DO NOT GO HERE. I cannot believe how outrageous my experience was at this cleaners. Dropped off 3 items that I wear all the time. Came back with a different item to get cleaned and to pick up the ones they were working on. Well, they lost the items. The woman at the store FREAKED out. Starts yelling at me about my lost items, then when I tried to leave the store and take the item I brought with me she literally blocked the entrance so she could try and force me to get the new thing cleaned with them! She started screaming and yelling and I literally had to duck under her waving arms to escape. Have no idea if ill ever be able to get these items back or be reimbursed but these people are insane and I’m afraid to even go back and try. Well be finitely be switching cleaners after this nightmare.

A little customer service goes a long way, but not at MacDee Cleaners.
I used to patron this cleaners often when I lived in this part of town, but moved to 16^th and switched to Swift Cleaners (17^th and R Street NW who are awesome!), and after moving back decided to go to a service I knew did a decent job.
We all know all dry cleaners know you by phone number, so when I gave them my current one I didn’t come up in their system, so I informed the nice lady that they probably still have me under my old number, which I then gave, and popped up. I asked if I could have my number updated to my new one and she said «sure, sure, next time you come in, next time». I wasn’t in a hurry so said that was fine, dropped off my clothes and picked them up in a few days.
Asked at pick up while paying, same lady, if I could change my number in the system and was told the same thing again «sure, sure, next time you come in, next time.» A little annoyed at this point but now in a hurry I let it go and left. A couple weeks later (the day i’m entering this review 11÷22÷13) I needed four shirts cleaned and pressed so I stopped in and again was greeted by the same lady who asked for my number and out of habit I gave her my current number and then when i didn’t come up realized we were still at step one.
Me: «Can you please update my phone number in your system so we don’t have to do this everytime I come in?»
Her: «Sure, sure. Next time. Next time.»
Me: «Miss, you said that the last two times I’ve come in and now you’re saying it again. All I want you to do is update my phone number in your system to my current one. Can we do this now please?»
Her: «Number fine, I already enter order, no can change now. Number in there fine.»
Now I’m beyond annoyed but kept my cool and said: «So you’re telling me, a customer, that you refuse to take the all of the two minutes required to update my profile in your system to my correct number? So that, god forbid, should anything happen to my clothes and you need to contact me that you have my correct information to do so?»
She then went through some lame round of excuses saying everything was fine, I didn’t need to worry about it, blah blah blah but I had had enough by then.
«You know what? Cancel my order. I’ll take my business else where» and proceeded to repack my dress shirts in my backpack to leave. Her tune changed real quickly upon hearing and seeing this then offered for me to write down my new number and she’d have it changed later but this was too little too late.
Dry cleaners are a dime a dozen so I’ve zero issue taking my business to another one, which just so happens to be Sun Cleaners right around the corner, when a store like this refuses to do its job. It’s such a small thing, but based on my experience and the other ratings for this dry cleaners, do yourself a huge favor and take your business elsewhere.

i go here all the time. buttons get broken from time to time, but otherwise they’re pretty decent. HOWEVER, if they ever lose a shirt of yours, don’t bother asking for it, they’ll just be rude to you. that’s why i’m writing this review. you’re welcome

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for a year and a half, and MacDee has been completely great the whole time. They have never ruined any of my garments, have always been nice when I’m dropping off/​picking up, and have even gotten out tough stains. They even clean dress pants without ruining the zipper, which has happened at other dry cleaners in the past.
Overall a good dry cleaner with friendly staff.

Absolutely horrible. Took tie there to get out one stain. It came back with two stains. Wife took dress there to get out one stain. The dress came back with… you got it: two stains.
Customer service is horrible and it is way overpriced. At this point I would let loose a stream of profanity at these people, but that wouldn’t be gentlemanly.

The staff is not friendly and the pants I got back this week smell like wet dog. (I’ve awkwardly had two co-​workers do a smell test to confirm.) We also had a tie «fixed» there – it came back with quite a few wrinkles pressed into it. We didn’t ask for it to be pressed, just hemmed.

AVOID! Rude, overpriced, and terrible customer service.
I have been going here for about 1.5 years and was always satisfied until a recent incident. I brought in pants to be sewed and was told it would be $ 10. Nevertheless, when I picked them up I was charged $ 20. After a few weeks I finally put them on and saw they were only partially sewed! I went back and asked them to fix it but the lady was immediately hostile and rude and said she would do it for $ 10 then $ 8, and before long she was literally shouting at me in a combination of English and Korean, then threw the pants at me and shouted me out of the store! I could not believe it. After vowing to never return I went around the corner to Sun cleaner where they said they would do it for $ 5.

There’s not really much to say. I dropped off my girlfriend’s dress, and I guess I forgot to say «No Ass Spray, please.» Because when we picked it up, it smelled like a human ass. I don’t even know what kind of dry-​cleaning product smells like that. Do they even have Ass Spray? Is that a girl-​clothes thing? Why wouldn’t they do like a French Vanilla or a Rainforest Breeze scent?
Anyway. This place sucks and is shitty. Don’t.

I have only been here once and it was a great experience! I came to this location of MacDee cleaner’s to have two pants hemmed and one dress tailored. I was nervous since this was my first time getting anything tailored and I had heard such horror stories.
MacDee did a GREAT job in tailoring the dress perfectly. The folks at MacDee in Logan Circle were polite, professional, and quick. The tailoring job was great and very affordable, too! I will definitely come back here for my future tailoring needs.

This cleaners was not very good. I asked for a shirt to be dry-​cleaned and then when I came to pick it up two of the buttons were totally smashed and broken. Then when I went in to complain the woman said that this was a normal part of washing and that it was our fault for not taking care of the buttons by getting it dry-​cleaned — which is what we had actually asked for!

This is my first Unilocal review; I was so distressed by the service I received that I felt compelled to write about it (if only I’d read the others before going!)
It was my first visit to MacDee. I gave them four skirts, they gave me a receipt listing four skirts. I got back three skirts, which was bad enough; worse was when the two women who work the counter accused me of lying about dropping off another skirt and repeatedly insisted it «wasn’t possible» that another skirt was there. Thirty minutes, more accusations, and a conversation with the manager later, they found my skirt – on a hanger with another customer’s name and order number.
This is the worst dry cleaners’ I’ve ever been to, bar none. Needless to say, I won’t be returning.

Still going here on a weekly basis almost a year later. They still do an excellent job.

Today, I am totally pissed! I was going to let their horrible service slide, but today, I will VOICE my opinions. If I could give them a negative rating, I would. I dropped off 5 pieces of clothes at their place on a Thursday afternoon. They told me to pick it up on Friday after 5pm. I was shocked, because most places tell me to come back in 4 – 5 days. I went back on Friday at 5:15pm to pick it up. They told me it was not ready and to return at 6pm. Once I got to my office, they called me and said the clothes are not ready, can I come back on Monday.
So, I went back on Monday. I did not inspect my NICE pieces of clothes until I went home. I inspected all my silk blouses and my white shirt. I don’t know what they did, but around the arm area, the silk blouses was STRETCH and THIN, like they tried too hard to make it nice. The white shirt was also stretched thinly on the back, close to the arm area. Other areas that had crests or folds to fit had the body, had also been stretched thin… I will be lucky if I get a wear of of them. Today, I wore my nice black pant to work and when I went to the bathroom, I noticed that folds around my thigh had been pressed so much that there are stretch thin and one side actually has a slight rip. I know I won’t be bending down to pick up a pen, least I have an emergency situation.
I will not return to this dry cleaning.

I handed a dress to be dry cleaned with a tiny spot at the bottom of the dress (dime sized). I got the dress back with about 3“x3″ sized stain in a different!!! place.
The dress is ruined. So are my plans to wear it for the holiday party :(
Very disappointed.

I handed in two coats to be drycleaned — one in winter white, one in baby blue. Both were still dirty when I got them back. I then took them to my parents’ default place in the ‘burbs and voila! Two clean coats. For less money.
