Transformer has only been open for about 4 years, so I haven’t been here as often as I have been to other galleries. The amount of space is tiny so it creates a different, automatically intimate feel.
Exhibits here transcend the typical photographs, paintings and sculptures. At Transformer, there are installations that are designed for the specific area, lectures and performance art.
Right now, the current installation is a two person show featuring a series of drawings and prints done in a cartooney style. The owners told me they were planning on putting out a retrospective sort of catalog of their first years worth of exhibitions. I am hoping that comes out soon.
