I frequent Georgetown from Florida: therapy as well as my son and his family are here. To find a salon so close and so professional was a joy. We have had wedding hair, highlights and cuts done at the salon – each experience wonderful. Cyrus was attentive and very skilled with my highlights and pixie clean up. Cem had cut and blown out my mother’s hair for my son’s wedding in October, his work leaving her the bell of the ball. I would highly recommend the salon as a whole. Per previous negative reviews… I can see where these events may have taken place as «human» does happen and I am sorry for those experiences, however I would not let them steer you away. Bring your pictures and any other volume you wish to present reflecting what you desire for your own perfect look as the team at Macomb does work hard to satisfy and takes pride in their work.

This place is a little hidden but a gem! The staff is very friendly and although they accept walk ins it’s not crowded. Their service is amazing and I found it very clean. Cyrus is great with hair cuts and all of the guys have such charisma. I definitely recommend it!

Go to Cyrus, he’s awesome! I went in for a cut, and he gave me exactly what I asked for. When he wanted to do something a little different from what I asked, he explained why he thought it would look better and he was totally right. I also usually get chastised by hair dressers for box dying my hair, but he gave me great tips to make it look good cheaply, and also gave me a color consult to help me pick a better box dye color. Such a great experience.

I really wish that I could say that I loved it after all of the positive reviews, but I can’t. I went in with a photo of exactly what I wanted (slightly past shoulder length, layered, and angled for curly hair), but ended up with something totally different. I showed the picture to my stylist, I am not sure who it was that day, and commented that my hair is very curly despite the fact that it was only wavy at the time due to being in a ponytail. My stylist commented that my hair cut was not doing anything for my curls and that they weren’t showing, but I thought he just meant that he would give them a cut to show them off better.
Before I could even check the length, my hair was way too short. It was gone before I could even notice in time to speak up. It was barely reaching my shoulders when wet, which I knew would be a disaster when it dried. Now, it barely reaches my chin when it is curly. Probably 3 – 4 inches shorter than I had desired. Clearly he was not paying attention to my hair type even though I made a point of commenting on it.
Maybe I should have said something at the salon, but i didn’t seem worth it since there is nothing that can be done to bring my hair back. I am just very disappointed with my hair cut and will probably not be returning. It felt like my stylist decided what he was doing and did not listen to me. I know my hair will grow back, but I do miss my curls and I will probably search for someone who is better at cutting curly hair in the future.

I just got my hair trimmed after telling Franco that I’m trying to grow my hair a bit more so I can donate it. He trimmed off just the right amount and gave me great advice about donating my hair. My hair looks so much healthier. I’d also like to add that when I got my hair washed, it was like getting a head massage too!
Everything was great. Service. Hair cut. Prices. Location.
They also give a student discount for AU and Georgetown students. I highly recommend Salon Macomb.

I was so disappointed with my haircut today, I was excited to meet Franco because a friend of mine recommended him at his new salon.
It was my birthday and I took some time off of work to travel to Salon Macomb, which is quite far from me in hopes that I would find a great stylist.
Franco seems like a nice person, but maybe I caught him on an off day? When I arrived, another stylist told me that he would cut my hair even though I made my appointment with Franco. I thought it was a bit odd and when Franco was around, after my hair was washed, he said he would cut it.
I wanted to show him some photos of what I had in mind, especially because my friend said that he was great and really listening to what you want. However, he had several angry calls with contractors and didn’t listen to what I wanted but proposed what was best for my hair. When he finished I tried to ask again for a bit more of what I had in mind. He seemed very annoyed and said that it «doesn’t matter,» proceeding to chop of my front bangs at an odd angle. I was speechless and upset. When I left I cried on the walk to the metro. I know its just a haircut, but when you are hoping that you will look better, and not have helmet hair when you are done, its very frustrating.

These guys are AMAZING! Franco is great and a really cool dude.

Franco does a great job on my pixie cut. The staff are always very friendly, the hair wash feels great, and the cut is on time with excellent results. Franco makes me feel like my hair is a piece of art, snipping here and there until the cut is perfectly sculpted. Always getting compliments on my ‘do!

If you are man, woman, or beast — if you have hair, of any type, in any amount — you need to walk in here and let these folks change your life with the right haircut. I just left Salon Macomb, and I’m so glad I waited to let the masters do their work. Please understand, I’m a long-​time client of the owners, I followed them from their previous location… BUT I have been traveling for months — and I was almost tempted have my hair cut in Boston, in England, New Haven, NY, NJ just for expediency — but I waited patiently until I can come back here to have an appointment with Macomb. I would follow these guys to Moscow if they moved there, that’s how good they are. Because they are *that* amazing. I don’t trust anyone else; they have earned my unflinching loyalty with their professionalism, consistency, and effortless skill. Before I found them, other places in DC used to turn me into an animé-​character with their haircuts. Here? Simply incredible. I am adding a snapshot of the haircut for reference. (I’m the girl in the blue dress). Even if you’re not sure what you want, these phenomenal professionals will work with your texture, face shape, etc for the perfect fit!

Murat has been my stylist for over 10 years. I followed him to Salon Macomb as he opened his own business, and would follow him anywhere. In fact, I drive in from Reston now! There is simply no one in the city better at color, period. I have had a top notch stylist in New York compliment the job he does on my color. The blonde highlights I get are always natural, always balanced and never brassy. I also have very curly hair, and he magically manages to cut it in a way that it looks good both curly and straight, and he does a marvelous job straightening it, too! On top of all the good work, he and Cem just make it fun to get your hair done. They create a relaxed, playful atmosphere and inspire trust in their clients with their amazing results. If you’re looking for a great stylist at reasonable prices in a stress-​free environment, look no further!

Atilla and Franco took care of my fried, over processed blonde mess and spent so much time with me. They gave me a special deep conditioner and godly shampoo massage. I showed them a few pictures of what I was looking for and they immediately began to work on my hair bringing me coffee and putting on great music. The salon is cozy and relaxing, clean, modern and beautiful the the stylists kept me laughing and smiling the entire time. They helped me transition into an ombré so that I could keep some blonde but go low maintenance with a top brown color closest to my natural shade. They trimmed my ends (much needed) and I was pleased at the quality of the work and relationships I made in the salon. My hair is so much healthier and more natural looking, I will definitely be coming to Salon Macomb for the rest of my time at American University.

After years of searching for a good hair salon and stylist in DC, I can finally take a a deep breath after finding Cem and the team at Salon Macomb. Having been to stylists in London, Miami and New York, and having experienced the good, the bad and the ugly in the world of hair color and cuts, I can say with confidence Cem is the best. He is a rare artist — a painter with color and a sculpture with cut. Everyone from the reception to the assistants at Salon Macomb are friendly and professional and I felt welcome from the moment I stepped in the door. I would give them 6 starts if I could!

Murat (Franco) has been doing my highlights and cut for a couple of years at Imaj, and I followed him to his new salon. The space is beautiful and Murat does an amazing job. I spent several years trying to find a stylist in DC that I liked and was so happy to have found Murat. Highly recommend!

Stunning, new Hair Salon, opened a week + ago, owned and operated by the nicest, most talented owners: Franco, Cem, and Naci, as well as hair stylist Atilla.
I’ve followed Franco to this new salon. Wonderful!
