Came here for brunch via a Guilt City coupon. At first I was a little put off when I first got there for brunch because there weren’t that many people in the restaurant but the host was very welcoming and it eased my worries. They recently changed their brunch menu so it threw me off that I didn’t get a chance to try the lobster roll which used to be on their old brunch menu. My boyfriend and I were seated quickly and were provided mimosas and bloody mary’s from the start. The bloody mary was great! Perfectly spicy! We started with the fried cauliflower… DELICIOUS! The cauliflower was flash fried! Crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. It came with some type of cool curry sauce which was amazing!(Ended up getting a side of the sauce to dip my breakfast potatoes in). For my entrée I had the pork belly with two sunny side up eggs and breakfast potatoes. The pork belly melted in my mouth! It might look like a small portion, but it was more than enough! The eggs and potatoes were great too, but the pork belly was the star of the show! I really enjoyed my meal here and would come back again to try other brunch items!

It’s snowzilla 2016 and they happen to be open. Only a waitress, bartender, hostess and busboy are working out front but they are killing it! The Mimosa is strong, we received complimentary homemade chips and the food was excellent.

If you go pay your server in cash because they hold their tips and there checks bounce more then the basketball at the Y. When the bank tells you it’s declined to contact your employer and the issue place doesn’t respond it tells you the scumbags you work for.

I hate to leave a mediocre review, as I’ve been a loyal customer since Stantion opened, but the service and overall quality just seems to be wavering massively. The changes to the menu have been overall positive, including the focus on small plate snacks as bar food and more emphasis on things like sandwiches. Unfortunately, the service is just really poor. For example, during the happy hour(where the pricing scheme seems to change constantly), they offer a $ 2 off drafts deal as part of the special. Funny that when I got the bill, my draft happened to be the one that didn’t qualify. No mention prior… Just a bland apology. What’s more, the bar staff in general just treat you like a nuisance when you come in for after work drinks. Steer clear of this place if you want an experience where the staff care about serving you. This bar has become a «get em in, get em out» kind of place.

Fabulous food and fabulous service. The young lady who waited on us could not of been more f efficient and happy! Our meal was served promptly and everything was nice and hot the way we like it. I mean the temperature of course. The drinks were generous and well crafted! The restaurant was full yet the service was if we were the only people there.

Let me save you a little time. Avoid at all costs. My friends and I came to Stanton and Greene via a Gilt City voucher. First, although I had a voucher for bottomless mimosas for two people, they only offer bottomless mimosas if you have a Gilt City voucher. It’s not on their regular menu. Definitely a bummer for the other people in my party who were not able to partake in the brunch festivities. Second, service is terrible. The restaurant was not crowded at all(probably because in the land of bottomless mimosas they are the only restaurant that doesn’t offer bottomless mimosas), but we experienced the slowest, most inattentive service on earth. We even complained to the manager(who didn’t seem surprised), and she brought us out two complimentary desserts. On a positive note, the food is actually really good. Definitely won’t go back. There are too many restaurants in the area that get food and service right.

So delicious! Stanton & Greene’s brunch menu hit it out of the park! They offer an extensive menu, some of the menu items include steak & eggs, a smoked trout and egg dish, deviled eggs etc. Everything comes out beautifully presented, and the portions are very generous! They also offer a bottomless brunch option which includes 1 menu item and endless mimosas. I dedicated to go for this, and within the 1.5 I was there was only able to be served 2 mimosas. They definitely were short-staffed. I enjoyed the food so much that the lengthy service didn’t bother me too much. Will definitely be back!

Awesome vibe! Love this place for happy hour. Happy hour bar bites were delicious. Had the chips, artichoke and salmon dips. Artichoke was the best dip. Drink specials until 730pm mon-fri which was a nice surprise when we got there. Also had crab cakes which were delicious. My friend had the French dip and she seemed very pleased. Go here to celebrate or for after work fun. Lots of people dressed in business attire.

Horrible service, bland food. We waited an hour for our meal and the restaurant was practically empty. Don’t bring your clients, and definitely don’t bring your family. You will be disappointed. I didn’t think I’d say this, but I miss Pour House. Hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husbands from this place.

Stopped by this restaurant with my boyfriend after walking around capitol hill and I was pleasantly surprised by both the food and the atmosphere. There was nice ambient lighting, an amazing variety of intricate cocktails, and the food was delicious! I highly recommend the spinach artichoke dip and the Greene burger. I would definitely recommend this place for couples, friends trying to find a cool bar to hang out at, or a delicious stop after sight seeing.

Ate here with a friend and really enjoyed it. Great atmosphere and a friendly staff. I had the Park 5 cocktail and it was delicious. For an appetizer I ordered the buffalo cauliflower – my favorite! Absolutely delicious. My friend and I split the chicken sandwich and we were not disappointed. Overall I really like this spot. Very nice bar as well.

This review is based solely on the shrimp«po-boy» As a native New Orleanian I have to say this sandwich(I can’t call it a po boy it doesn’t live up to the title) was offensive. A tiny hard burned baguette with 5 or 6 shrimp served with soggy bbq chips for $ 15!!! I’m only giving two stars because our waitress was nice.

If you want to have a fun party or visit with friends after work, this is the place to visit. The location is a wonderful venue for events. The bathrooms are small but I don’t really decide where to go based on how big a bathroom is(however if you are an elf, you will do just fine). The bar area is large and fun. The bartenders are nice. The space is perfect for a DJ and a crowd. You can people watch on the couches by the window. I like this place. I’ll be back.

I love this restaurant. It’s actually become one of my favorites and I’ve brought family and friends to experience it, which the management staff is always most appreciative. The wait/bar staff is always on point(try the L’Efant martini) and the food is amazing(the blue cheese dip is EVERYTHING!!!). The atmosphere is so nice and can definitely make for a romantic evening as its kind of swanky in a classic old school way. I think anyone would fall in love with this place.

I want this place to be good. I’m a local always on the hunt for deliciousness in the neighborhood. The place is nice and clean. But there’s something about the ambiance, kind of dark but without any personality. Wait staff nice enough, but no one seems in any hurry even when it’s empty. Prices are a bit ambitious since they have yet to find a following and whenever you charge a lot the expectations increase with every added dollar. Sadly a sandwich with bagged chips fails to deliver.($ 16) And the skimping on condiments seems strange as they seem to try to be forging for themselves a reputation as a high-end establishment. They just don’t hit the mark. Disappointed. Hope they figure it out.

We just got the ice cream Sunday and it’s AMAZING! house made vanilla bean ice cream with caramel and oreos served in a little cast iron skillet. You get three big scoops of ice cream so it’s good to split. Their cocktail list is also great! Lots of classics and some that they have created. Friendly service, atmosphere is okay, very white, could use a different color on the wall.

Given it three tries now. The patrons are almost as uninteresting as the bartenders. There is one happy hour choice per drink category, and you will like it or order fiull price. The smothered fries happy hour is interesting, mostly because there is no reason to buy them otherwise at $ 9 regular price. Too pricey for a go-to place on the Hill and the only non coat and tie types are industry friends of the bartenders. NOTE: The bartender comment is not a slam to any particular one. They are all competent and pleasant. It’s just an establishment vibe that is off.

Come for the macaroni & cheese, which is rich & creamy but with a wonderfully crunchy outer coating. It’s great! Unfortunately, though, you’ll have a tough time finding anything else to go with the mac & cheese. The sirloin steak is tough, the seafood platter has way too much heavy batter on it & the French fries are dull, dull, dull.

3.5 After being turned away during their first week of business due to kitchen problems, weeks later my fiancé and I decided to give Stanton and Greene a second try. Thankfully this time their kitchen was operational and we were able to be sat for dinner. About 15 minutes into dinner I noticed I had a voicemail, from the restaurant calling to ask where we were. Even though I checked in at the hostess stand with my name, stating we had a reservation they didn’t check us in. Oops. Probably need more training on how to use the system. #Awkward To their credit the manager did come by and acknowledged we were not able to eat dinner the first time we stopped by and comped the first round of drinks. This was most certainly appreciated as the drinks at Stanton and Greene are by far the best part. I opted for one of their specialty cocktails called Park No. 5 which was a lovely refreshing rose drink. My fiancé ordered a vodka tonic and after the second try(no syrup) they got it right. Given the restaurant is very small and there were no patrons at the bar during dinner the TWO bartenders were quite slow. We waited almost ten minutes for each round of cocktails. In an empty restaurant, this really isn’t acceptable. The service in general is pretty slow and leaves much to be desired. As for the food it’s average. We started with the lobster croquettes which were good, very hot and fresh. For my main entrée I ordered the lobster roll, which again was fine but I’ve had much better. Also the fries which they up-charge you $ 3 for, were soggy. My fiancé ordered the steak medium rare, which came out over cooked and looked exactly like the cheap cut of steak you can get around the corner at the restaurant medium rare. We skipped dessert and headed home. All in all, not impressed. Very slow service and average overpriced food. There are very limited options on the menu for dinner unless you want a sandwich. I would say stick to Stanton and Greene for lunch or if you like craft cocktails. Otherwise there are better restaurants on the strip of dinner.

A collaboration by the folks over at Beucherts and Sonoma, this place fits right in to this stretch of Penn Ave SE. In the old Pour House space, this place is gorgeously tiled and redone in something that just says comfortable but a wee bit upscale. I love the look of the bar downstairs. The upstairs space was closed when my friend and I went opening week, but I got to pop my head in — it looks promising and very open with a lot of natural light. Happy hour is upstairs and at the bar. Happy Hour Monday through Saturday, 3−7pm *$ 4 house beer *$ 5 craft beer *$ 5 sparkling, white, or red wine Various bar bites on special(from $ 4 to 6, see here: www.yelp.com/biz_photos/stanton-and-greene-washington#sPQp4NFlRlDKFBUYIooW3w) This place is definitely a splurge for me($ 50 after tax+tip for two cocktails and a side of mac n cheese and charred broccoli). However, the cocktails are on point and should feel familiar to folks that frequent Church and State or Wisdom. The cocktails won’t be overly sweet, and they have interesting combinations of flavors while being heavy on the alcohol content. I tried an absinthe and apple liqueur combination, and also tried another cocktail that was a lovely version of their Manhattan. Bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was excellent(I’m a sucker for little cast irons), and my friend highly enjoyed her veggie burger here too.
