Located in the lobby of the Grand Hyatt on H and 11th st NW. Friendly and fast service and it’s next to the Starbucks so they service Starbucks coffee. Prices are not cheap because it’s a hotel eatery, but still your best option if you’re staying at the hotel and don’t want to pay $ 25 for breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

I stay at Hyatts quite often and was not impressed this time around. Most recently, we stayed at the Grand Hyatt for a weekend in July. We ate at Zephyr Deli — the food is quick and simple. We ordered the breakfast combo(sandwich, coffee and fruit). Wasn’t extraordinary but we didn’t expect it to be anyway, just something quick. Timi was our cashier and she was terrible. I can’t even fathom how she works in customer service. Extremely rude and unaccomodating. We were a party of three and wanted to check out separately with our own credit/debit cards even though we ordered the same meal. She told us that it was very inconvienent and that one of us should pay in full and the other two should give the payer cash. I told her that we did not want to do that and that we needed separate receipts… she proceeded to roll her eyes and mumble under her voice. I asked her what the issue was considering it is basically just three different people paying/three different orders. Again, she reiterated that it was inconvenient and that it would hold up the line. We had a simple request, I felt — even the customers behind us did not understand why it was such an issue. Overall, poor customer service and a bad start to our day and end of our stay. Oh and she forgot to give us our coffee until we asked for it – cherry on top!

Wow! This place has great breakfast and salads. Food is served cafiteria style so you can see the different options behind the glass. The scrambled eggs were done perfectly and the home fries were awesome! I also go the zephyr salad later in the day that was a great vegitarian option, even though Im not vegitarian. I highly recommend this place for a quick but delicious breakfast or lunch.

I really enjoyed my experience at the deli this morning. The cooks & cashier were helpful and friendly, and the breakfast burrito was delicious!

I enjoy grabbing lunch here every once in awhile. The salads are always fresh and a better deal than Chop’t. Just make sure to ask for the dressing on the side. I also like the tomato, mozzarella, and portobello mushroom panini.

Staff was rude. Every request was exasperating for them. We got two mozzarella and tomato sanwiches, two sides of mac, and two waters for $ 32. Space split with a Starbucks.

Take two steps to the left and get your breakfast at the Starbucks counter.(Zephyr Deli and Starbucks have counters right next to each other)

The first time I came to zephyr, i was like… NICE!!! hot food that tasted pretty good! THe more I come back, though, the more I’m sort of indifferent to this place. I’m not a fan of their sandwiches or salads; taste a bit of their hot food«special» before you get anything. I got the filet mignon once, and the beef was so incredibly tough… yuck. I will say, though, that their mac and cheese is pretty awesome(be careful ordering it though, you’ll feel so guilty afterwards!) anyways, it’s nice to have another option in the area – though quality is definitely variable depending on what they’re serving that day.

just happened to be walking by this morning and decided to grab a quick bite. Had a surprising good(and inexpensive) croissant! Yumm. Right behind the deli counter, which had some good looking bagels, egg options, oatmeal and grits, there is a small Starbucks. I got coffee there — good but definitely not inexpensive.

I don’t get the other reviews at all this place is like a bad airport cafeteria. Everything is microwaved, served in an overabundance of plastic Baked goods are dry and — I’m sure packed with transfats. The server was surly, although the cashier was very friendly. The seating feels rushed and noisy like an airport café too. Ugh! It seems like downtown DC is really lacking in decent breakfast options.

When I was staying at the Grand Hyatt, the Zephyr Deli saved my butt on all three days for serving its purpose: giving me breakfast. Given that there seems to be a dearth of diners/breakfast joints in the DC area, Zephyr had a variety of choices. Not only was it accessible downstairs at the Grand, it was also delicious and decently priced by hotel standards(definitely better then room service by a long shot). Everything was premade for the day, but once the servers heated it up in the convection oven, my egg and cheese with an everything bagel was delicious and gave me the first round of fuel while traipsing around the nation’s capital.

The Zephyr Deli is located just off the lobby inside the Grand Hyatt — right next to Starbucks. Good place for a quick breakfast or lunch. Stopped in here one morning for breakfast. Went for their Ham and Swiss quiche. It’s a pre-made round little pie — they throw it in the microwave to heat it up — which I don’t have a problem with. I think Quiche lends itself particularly well to being heated in a microwave. The quiche was very tasty and savory. The top of the quiche had a number of ham chunks right at the surface of the quiche and these were nicely charred and caramelized. I’d recommend coming here and will be back again to try some of their breakfast sandwiches as well as their bacon.

Really 3.5. Unless you’re employed by the Grand Hyatt, a visiting tourist, or work for one of the two dozen firms located in the Washington Center Office building — you’ve never heard of this place. Since Zephyr is just an elevator ride and about 500 feet away, it’s become my office’s default lunch spot for two reasons:(1) if it’s snowing/raining/bitter cold or(2) if we’re feeling extra-lazy. I usually get the turkey panini, crab chowder, or chicken salad on foccacia. The brownies and cookies are enormous, sometimes a little dense, but always chewy and satisfying. They also serve breakfast. My only gripe: Zephyr closes at 2pm sharp, an hour or two before my usual snack hour.

This is a convenient lunch place near Metro Center, on the ground floor of one of those big hotels. The sandwiches are good, but way, way overpriced. The cookies and brownies, however, are top notch. I’ve tried the double chocolate cookie, oatmeal raisin cookie, and the fudge brownie, and all of them were excellent. The cookies were huge, and soft, but firm enough that they won’t fall apart or get too crumbly. The brownie was scrumptious. It was very dense, dark, and fudgy with a pot de crème taste to it. It would be better without chocolate chips, but what’s a girl to do? Go for the dessert, not for the food. Also, the line gets really long at lunchtime, and they close after lunch, so you can’t go satisfy your sweet tooth after about 2 p.m.
