This place is the reason we go to waynesboro. It is THE family choice for any celebration or just to relax at the bar and listed to some great music. This place is just about perfect.

The seasoned sweet potato fries were some of the best I’ve ever had. Then there’s the House Turkey wrap, sliced turkey, with havarti cheese, spinach, and an artichoke spread. I choose the gluten free wrap option, so it was a quesadilla panini kind of thing. It was so good I wish I had the appetite to eat it all. It’ll be hard to try something new next time. We started with the baked brie(it’s a smaller portion, but 3 of us split it with a few bites a piece). It was lightly breaded and topped with a mild spicy jam, comes with plenty of fried pita chips. Everyone else tried the chicken curry. The meals come with a house or Caesar salad, which looked fresh and were a decent size. The presentation of the meal was nice as well. Everything is served in wide white ceramic bowls. The curry had cashews, onions, tomatoes, white rice and chicken. Everyone seemed to like it a lot, other tables around us ordered it as well. This place was a great find! And lots of gluten free alternatives!

Wow! I had read the reviews from this gem and am so glad we made the decision come here. For starters, we had the chili, French onion soup, and spinach artichoke dip. The bubbly cheese over the soup was perfectly melted, his chili was wonderfully spiced, and the dip was very creamy. The entrees… I went with the featured special of tri tip sirloin with a port wine balsamic Demi glaze with mashed potatoes and the(omg!) best Brussel sprouts(cooked with bacon, onion, and tomatoes). My husband does not like brussel sprouts and he loved them! The steak was equally fantastic. The hub got the Bourbon St. Sirloin, which was perfectly cooked to his liking with a delectable honey bourbon glaze. The dinner was full of eye rolls and smiles… all the while so grateful we read the reviews for Outback and opted for this place instead. We both walked out with creamy and smooth hot chocolates, full bellies, and a promise to return again soon.

I am sure this is a lovely place to eat — if one can be served, or even greeted when one walks in the door. Time to move on.

Delicious food, attentive staff and great craft beer and wine selections both local and out of state. Came back to eat here a few times and loved the food each time. Nice atmosphere. First time I had cobb salad. It came with homemade dressing and was very fresh. Even the bacon was freshly cooked. Another time I had the tuna, it was also great! Well played and paired with wine. Definitely would be a regular here if I lived local!

My husband and I visited Green Leaf after reading reviews on Unilocal. My husband had Étouffée and said it was the best he had outside of New Orleans. I had Bourbon Steak with mashed potatoes. It was great; meat was flavorful and tender and cooked perfectly to my request. Salads were excellent, homemade dressings delightful. Our server was the best! We will go back Jane and Greg

What a wonderful find in Waynesboro. We came here partly because we’d heard the chef hailed from Commanders Palace in New Orleans. We got soft shelled crab sandwich and fish n chips for lunch. Both were delicious. Food was seasoned just right. Fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy. So good! As for the restaurant itself, I quite enjoyed the lovely artwork adorning the walls. Will definitely stop by again next time we’re in town.

This place is an awesome whole in the wall restaurant. Great selection. The crabcakes are highly recommended. Also, try the bread pudding. Better yet, try everything!

We decided to stop by Waynesboro for lunch and wow what a great choice! Everything is Great: home made fries, chips, shrimp hush puppies, fried green tomatoes, soft shell crab sandwich, home made sauces, turkey BLT. Do yourself a favor and indulge in banana foster(how often do you see that on a menu?!) and do not share the cheesecake with anyone. Order your own — it’s not too sweet and heavenly light. The espresso cream is amazing. Friendly staff. Fast service. I don’t even write reviews on Unilocal often now but this place is worthy.

We had dinner here tonight. It was fantastic. They have a nice craft beer(bottles only), wine & cocktail menu. Aside from our beers, we started off with the shrimp hush puppies. I could have just had another order for dinner! Very tasty! Soon after we had our house salads with chipotle ranch dressing. It was just a salad but it was fresh and the dressing was exactly what we expected. For our entrées, my husband’s drunken shrimp was on point and I thoroughly enjoyed the stuffed portobello. We highly recommend The Green Leaf Grill. Cheers.

Wide menu selection and excellent food. Waiters & waitresses are great folks that care about their customers satisfaction. However, recently I voiced a question to my wonderful waitress about a drink order. She quickly left to obtain an answer to my question. Next thing I know a bartender approaches my table with a disputation regarding one simple question. Embarrassing for my fiancé and my wonderful waitress.

On our way from Baltimore to Asheville, N. C. we stayed over one night in Waynesboro, VA at a Holiday Inn Express on US340 just off I-64. We were ready to shake off the rigors of the road and then head out for a nice sunday night supper. Googling for vegetarian we found The Green Leaf Grill on Main Street. The on line menu looked good. It took us less than ten minutes by car. Downtown Waynesboro is pretty sleepy on sunday night. We rolled in about 7pm and had no trouble getting seated. Green Leaf sells beer, wine and liquor, but we weren’t interested. Nathan, our server, did an excellent job taking care of us. They had a soft crab appetizer. We told Nathan that we were from Baltimore and were a little skeptical about anyone preparing soft crabs this far from the shore. He told us the chef was from New Orleans. We ordered one crab and split it. It was very tasty. We also had the house salads. Each was very fresh and the dressings were local and original. We also ordered sweet potato fries that were good. Bette had the polenta entrée which was a large serving and she really liked it. Based on the city of origin of the chef, I had the crawfish étouffée; also a good size serving and very well prepared. A little spicy, just right for me. No room for dessert. We have made a note that should we make our way through here again, we know a great place to eat.

Food is always very good! We have tried a lot of different things on the menu and it’s always on point. One of our favorite places to go! The service here has always been good as well. They’re very apologetic if they get behind, but it’s a popular spot at certain times so to be expected. Cute, quaint little place. Definitely try if you’re in the area. Most things can be made gluten-free.

Great food and as many times as we have visited waynesboro, we never knew it was here. Very diverse menu. Having been vegan, it’s nice to see vegan and vegetarian options n the menu. Ryan was great server very knowledgeable and made great suggestions. Will defiantly come again when we’re in waynesboro.

Anytime we travel we do our best to avoid chain restaurants. Unilocal led us to one of our best finds yet! There was plenty of street parking and we were warmly welcomed when we entered. The food is what really steals the show. My boyfriend has the Parmesan oyster appetizer and I had the shrimp stuffed hush puppies, yum to both! Continuing with our seafood theme he had the fried seafood platter, which was that perfect flaky kind of fried, not greasy at all. I went with the crab cakes which were amazing and chock full if crab meat. They may have been the best I’ve ever had. We found a little more room to share a slice of the key lime pie, not to be missed! With the great food, friendly service, and a a plethora of local beer and wine the Green Leaf Grill is a great place for dinner!
