It was reported on the Fizzy’s Facebook page that the owners have decided to close permanently as of October 26th. It will be missed by those who liked it.

The staff here is really friendly. There are so many great items to choose from that it’s hard to choose. The onion rings are fantastic. Great unique flavors of ice cream. You gotta try a fizzy soda! I will definitely be back.

This little ice cream luncheonette has better food than you would expect! We enjoy bringing our daughter here now and then. Pretty good pulled pork sandwich, and good Reuben. Hot dog and hamburger were pretty good too, from what I recall. The ice cream is very good — from Wisconsin and creamy. My daughter loves their strawberry.

Honestly, I have had a hard time in the past giving an establishment in my home place a sub par review. First: we bought the $ 10 groupon and headed there. We ordered three single cheeseburgers. Mine without the bun which I know most establishments really raise a brow at without knowing your reasons behind it. Two bottles sodas, and two bags of chips. I asked for lettuce and she told me it was on the bar. Ok. Before the Groupon it was $ 27.51. I raised a brow and paid it and then walked away realizing she did not apply my discount. I draw someone’s attention to it. The owner nicely got in the drawer and gave me the $ 10. Cool problem solved. But how many others didn’t scrutinize their receipt to recognize that their groupon wasn’t applied and wasted cash… You can’t run a promotion if you don’t train all your cashiers on how to apply it. Especially during the Jazz and Blues festival in Webster with that many people coming and going. The lettuce leaves on the bar weren’t large enough to use as makeshift buns. Just little chunks. Ok. However… I have a very real problem charging $ 30 for three burgers especially where one person gets no drinks and no sides… and no bun(but I’ve made peace with paying for buns that I don’t eat because that’s my code). For the price, the patties, while fresh and not frozen, it was just not worth it to me when we could have gone down the street and gotten burgers fries and bottomless sodas at another establishment for a few dollars less. Worth a shot… But unfortunately we will gravitate to other local favorites instead of here because it just isn’t economical.

Amazing service! We entered and were immediately greeted and the small menu was explained to us. The burgers are huge! We ordered doubles, but only needed singles. The fizzy drinks are delicious and so are the shakes. We went with our little one and he was lent a coloring book and got to try some ice cream.

Not bad. Three teenagers behind the counter and nobody said«Hi, how can I help you?» Don’t bother with the sno-cone, they were not very juicy so it was like sucking on plain ice. Ice cream was good.

A friend and I stopped by here before going over to Euclid Records for Record Store Day. This was my first time here and I think this place is great… especially for kids. Its got an old school pharmacy/soda jerk station with great choices of ice creams and drinks. We split an ice cream soda and chicken tenders. The ice cream shake was on special and just cost an extra $.25 when ordering the chicken tenders. Both were good. The ketchup came in packets which could be improved upon by having ketchup bottles. I will be back if I am in the area and if I have my nephews and/or nieces with me. This is a cool spot.

Nice little malt shop atmosphere. Greeted as we walked in on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered a root beer and sugar free fizzy. Root beer is created on site. Tasty as a fizzy. Watermelon was okay– had a syrup taste with little flavor. Ordered cheeseburgers, because they were our of veggie burgers. Burgers came out quickly. We’ll done with cold buns. Tasty. The fixings bar is nothing special. Tomato, onion, pickles and onion. I believe they could do better on that end to stand above other burger joints. Onion rings reminded me of the old drive-in style. Overall, okay. I would concentrate on the fixings bar to Wow the customer a little more. One cost — saving tip. Put ketchup and mustard bottles on the table. Cost-effective and more sustainable. Good luck, fizzy’s!

Just what I was looking for, for my little family. We were hanging out in the old Webster groves area when Unilocal(love it) spotlighted this place. A cool little soda fountain shop with quick diner meals. You’ve read the other reviews, the«fizzys» are bomb! I really like the sugar free options for the kids. Tried the smoothie, and that was good too. I really appreciated the friendly staff and that the food was very hot… These are good things. Best part, this shop utilized Unilocal and I got 25 percent off coupon with my meal!

Such a precious place! So warm & inviting. A real soda fountain in a charming part of the city. Confession — not a burger person but heard the onion rings were out of this world — LOL. Had the veggie burger — tasty, and loved the burger fixings bar. And the onion rings — oh my. And the owners and their staff are so very sweet and accommodating. A real find to share with family & friends. Will definitely be back!

I was visiting Fizzy’s for a nice quaint place in beautiful Webster Groves, Mo. It has that turn of the century look! The cheeseburgers we bought were excellent. They were so good; we decided to split an extra cheeseburger. I’m not kidding! They are about as good as a burger gets. At the condiment area, you add your onions, mustard, jalapeños, tomatoes..(all very fresh) To wash down the delicious sandwiches, I had a black cherry fiz and my son had a chocolate milkshake. They were awesome! I’m a regular visitor to St Louis, and Fizzy’s was a big pleasant surprise. I’ll be back many times! Ps. This is a case where a living social coupon got me in the door and I discovered an off the beaten track to explore! Thanks.

My first time here! For a little diner/old timey soda shop atmosphere, this place really rocks! The place is cute, the service is friendly, and my burger and fries was definitely tasty! Comes with an unlimited topping bar on the sandwich and offers regular fountain drinks as well as their housemade fizzy drinks. It was definitely a popular location with families, I noticed. I will be back.

Great place! Went for a date night and thought everything was good. We had the chicken sandwich and chicken strips and fries. The fries were really tasty straight cut skinny fries perfectly golden. Chicken sandwich was hot and breading was just right not too much. The highlight is the sodas! Sugar free cherry and the orange dream were great. Good amount of syrup. Got a small and big soda, and they must have made both small originally, ended up with extra soda for free! Very pleasant and attentive staff. Cozy big wood booths, tables, and bar stool counter. Toppings bar for the burgers, dogs, and sandwiches. Will return and highly recommend!

I’ve been here multiple times. During those visits, the staff has been more than friendly, the atmosphere is very lively, and the food is great! This is the place to go for a little date or just to hang out.

This is such a sweet place! I believe this place is Family Owned & Operated… if it’s not it certainly feels like it is, which is a great thing! The staff is very nice & friendly! Excellent«Fizzy» Soda Pop drinks… even watched a fudge soda being made! I will be getting one of those next time I go! The Lime Rickey I got was soooo good! Very fresh homemade items! The french fries were delicious… my cheeseburger even better!!!

Dr. Jazz was a crowd favorite at my household. We loved the environment and the family who owned it. We did of course enjoy it. The raspberry sorbet was huge, we ordered two scoops to share but instead got two softball size lumps of it. We couldn’t finish it between the two of us. We loved the funnel cake there, it was a surprise to see a soda fountain serve funnel cake but we were pleased they did. To our surprise, they were just the right size for us to both have one. We were pleased with the generosity of the owners who made it seem apparent they wanted us to come back. I loved the food, but the stored seemed to be just like Dr. jazz just with less of the fun feel. It didn’t add very much except the bland looking soda station towards the back. That may be because they are new, but I wish they would add more of a feel to the restaurants besides the few things left behind from Dr. Jazz

I recently went here with a buddy since they have reopened as «Fizzy’s» vs. the old Dr. Jazz’s. I thought the changes they made to the interior(minor but effective) were nice! It’s now an order from the front registerer — they then bring you the food kind of place vs wait staff taking your order at your table service. That I don’t mind. We decided to sit at the bar. It looked welcoming! We looked over the menu and then went up to the cashier and placed our order. I received my cup and went over the soda fountain/condiment bar across the room and made my soda selection(¾ diet coke with ¼ Dr. Pepper– if you were interested) We had a good time watching Fizzy’s make homemade soda’s and floats behind the bar! I learned you can make an ice-cream float out of ANY soda!!! WHOA! Noted for my next visit. We had some good conversations with the staff about menu items, an event going on in the area later that day, very helpful! Our orders came out and there was some confusion on if we got the right order or if they lost ours… but my buddy got his chili dog with my fries, and I received the wrong item. It was a bit too hectic for my liking and I just said, I just wanted a BLT and fries. They quickly corrected the situation.(Although it seems as if others around us had the same ordering confusion issues — something they might want to look into fixing. A new ticket process maybe) My BLT came with slightly toasted(perfect for my liking) bread and bacon. I then got to take my delight over to the condiment bar where I loaded it with as much of the chopped romaine lettuce(I prefer iceberg for a BLT) and tomatoes as I liked at the condiment bar. Went back to the bar and created the perfect sandwich! ITWASDELICIOUS!!! I informed the manager or owner about how I used the last of the lettuce and she mentioned they don’t fill it too full so that the fresh produce does not sit over a tub of ice too long… smart I thought. Bec they forgot my fries, even on the second take of getting my order right, they had brought me an entire basket of fries. You can’t say we did not have enough food! That is for sure! Overall, I really enjoyed the new cleaned up look of Fizzy’s. I enjoy the staff’s friendliness and enthusiasm. I think once they work out some kitchen kinks it will be even better!!!

We frequented Dr. Jazz so I was very sad to see it close but thrilled that Fizzy’s was going to be opening in the same space. We made a stop by recently and I was pleased. The grill was not opened yet so I can’t comment on the food(I’ll update when we visit again) but the treats we got were very good. My son enjoyed an Incredible Hulk fizzy(a green soda that was recommended by an owner) and I had a rootbeer float. Everything was very good. We even got some complimentary popcorn while we were there. A whole group of kids came in while we were eating and they were greeted warmly which was nice — sometimes you go to these places and feel like they don’t want to be dealing with kids but the owners were very welcoming. The design of the place is much cleaner and less cluttered than it was previously although my son did mention that he missed the train. He’ll get over it :) I forgot to look and see if they had booster seats or high chairs. It appears that now you have to pay at the counter rather than having the bill brought to your table so that’s another slight change to be aware of. We’ll be back!
