Probably the best Sushi in Rochester! We have never been disappointed and have been regulars there for years. Great selection of rolls. Service is very good.

This place continues to amaze me with the freshness of their fish and overall presentation. Simply delicious and very reasonably priced. I come here every time I visit the area. Wish I lived closer.

My favorite sushi in town! Friendly, quick service! I usually order take out. I call and drive over and my order is ready when I get there. The Southside Roll is my favorite!

I was super pleased with this sushi restaurant– it was close to where I lived, was accommodating for special requests and was super fast. The couple of times I have been they were able to make a wide variety of rolls with high quality fish and service. Only complaint is they have a smaller menu than others in the area, but they do each roll with high quality. I would definitely return.

I come here quite a lot and always bring friends or family from out of town. The sushi is also amazing. I love the crab tempura appetizer, seaweed salad, bubba gum roll, volcano roll, and dragon roll.

Another great sushi meal the TNT roll and the ANGEL roll were great. You will not be disappointed in this restaurant. Especially in Webster since there are really no good places to eat in Webster.

meh I came by for lunch on a Friday. One other person in the restaurant. I had the sushi appetizer which consisted of 5 or 6 Nigiri pieces. The sushi was pretty decent however the Tempura Udon I ordered was really pretty sub par. The udon was basically a simple dashi broth with absolutely no body. Noodles, scallions and?? Cilantro??. Oh and the bowl was square with a metal spoon instead of the standard Chinese ceramic(I’m being an Udon snob I know, but it bugged me). Will stick with Shiki.

Would have been really happy about finding this place if the service had been a better and the portions a bit more plentiful. Fish was fresh and they were very accommodating with my allergy requests which is hard to find. Might consider coming back

The sushi was fantastic. Never can have enough sushi! Small place in the plaza. Go for the sushi, not the elegance.

I went here with two coworkers for lunch on a Tuesday. Both myself and a coworker ordered the spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls and it came with a ginger dressing tossed salad, the other ordered a salmon bento box. Every place I’ve ever been at that serves this has their own approach to the ginger dressing, either because they make it themselves or buy from a different vendor. It was fine, not bad, but slightly separated as the ginger mostly stayed on top and the liquid was at the bottom of the bowl. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, there was 3 other tables that sat down when we did. The spicy salmon is cooked and shredded and put in sushi rolls and the tuna is traditional as expected. Because they use the same sauce, used generously, I had a hard time know which roll was which. I have no major complaints except for the fact the sushi rolls were extremely loose(not sticky rice?) and fell apart easily when dipped and this was true for all 5 rolls that were on our table. The taste was decent, not noteworthy. I wouldn’t bend over backwards to go again but it’s fine for the price. I have read the other reviews here and I find some of them way too optimistic and a couple reviews were concerning. I actually think I had a good experience there but anybody who thinks this place is some 5 star place may need to think again.

I love the sushi here! Very fast, you can get in and out for a quick meal. Also have other dishes on the menu for the non sushi eaters.

Best sushi I’ve found in Rochester so far. My boyfriend and I moved here from LA and love sushi. We have had horrible sushi accept for this place. Good sushi, good prices. Enough said– if you want sushi anywhere near Rochester try Taka House! We have decided we aren’t going anywhere else since all other attempts have been horrible.

Great restaurant. After seeing many good reviews about the place, I decided to come in for dinner. Only saw 2 people working, the chef and the waitress. Both were very kind and a pleasure making small talk with. Having visited over 15+ sushi restaurants in the area, this is definitely in my top 3. The Nigiri Sushi had fresh fish on top, and the rice was perfectly formed and shaped. I just love how the slices of fish were nice and thick and not skimpy. The Rolls had great innovation and presentation. Highly recommend and will return myself. Cheers!

Very good and better than expected sushi on my first visit to Rochester/Webster. Excellent selection of rolls and premium rolls, although the rolls are slightly smaller than those I’ve had in LA. Great service and helpful recommendations, and tables are turned over quickly to keep the wait at a minimum. The King Crab roll was my favorite, but all the others we ordered were all a close second. Good bar selections of Japanese and domestic beer, sake, and wine. Will repeat.

The food was delicious! I went for a mid-afternoon lunch with my boyfriend and coworker. The service was quick and courteous. The choices were fairly varied and well done. I ordered a dinner for two with my boyfriend which included 4 rolls and any choice of soup or salad. The only thing that annoyed me a little was that it said any choice of soup or salad but they meant one or the other of miso soup or the garden salad. They also charged you separately for each roll you ordered SK I’m not sire how that’s a deal or special. The food was quickly prepared and beautifully done and I would certainly go there again. Maybe not to order that special but to get something else.

Decent sashimi(I have not tried their other offerings), service was attentive, but not overly so, and the space was cozy and quiet. A pleasant surprise for Webster and somewhat tucked away in this Northeast side strip mall, just West of Five Mile Line Road. The Sashimi Deluxe dinner(20 pieces– $ 26), was nicely presented and prepared with an selection of five different fish. The textures and tastes proved that the fish was relatively fresh, but there was a little loss of intensity in the flavor in a couple of selections, particularly the tuna. Octopus was nice variation from typical sashimi plates. The portions were consistent with or slightly larger than other Rochester sushi restaurant offerings. The dinner was served a small bowl of Miso soup(good) and a small green salad(ok). They have a fair selection of wines(predominately Whites) and Beers. With a rather larger selection on their menu, it is definitely worthy of a return visit to try some Sushi Nigiri, Rolls, Hibachi and Tempura

Great experience. Fresh, cold, succulent Sushi! Honestly, best I have had in a long time in Rochester! Swift, friendly service with a smile. Loved the extra attention to detail the sushi had appearence wise! Looked fantastic on the plate and was sooo good! Highly recommend the Teenager Roll, The Webster Roll, and the Christmas Roll! This place really give Rochester sushi lovers a unexpected treat! Check this place out, you will be pleased !!! Beer and wine prices very reasonable! Sushi priced a little high, however, its totally worth it! You pay for what you get ! Oh yum! We will be back very soon!

Taka House is a Japanese restaurant tucked away in a Webster strip mall. Taka House is off the beaten path for me and I am not too famliar with the area, but the Unilocal reviews piqued my interest. The ambience was pretty average. Nothing fancy, but that’s not surprising based on its outward appearance. It’s a smaller restaurant with maybe 10 tables in total. Everything was seemingly clean and tidy. Service was good. Our waitress was pleasant, prompt in taking our orders, refilling our drinks and even providing separate checks for our party of 7 without a fuss. I couldn’t really ask for more. I found the food to be fairly pedestrian. I ordered the Chicken Habachi along with a Samurai Roll. Portion sizes were generous. The Chicken Habachi dinner was $ 14 and came with a salad, grill vegetables(zucchinis, onions) and rice. The good thing was that it tasted pretty healthy and was not too oily. However, tasting«healthy» also meant it was on the bland side. Usually hibachi restaurants have tasty but unhealthy sauces to help with this, be it a ginger or a mayonnaise based sauce. Unfortunately, Taka House has no such sauces available. Granted these sauces are not very Japanese, they have become staples in the American hibachi experience and not having them available was disappointing. The Samurai Roll was about $ 10 and consisted of spicy tuna and avocado topped with seared white tuna. The seared white tuna didn’t do anything for me and seemed more like a tasteless filler. Maybe I just ordered the wrong roll, but my eating companions were also less than impressed with their dishes. A friend usually orders the chirashi bowl everytime she goes to a new Japanese restaurant and uses it as a basis for comparsion. She ranked Taka House below Shiki & Sushi King and thought the fish was less fresh. Overall, Taka House is an average sushi spot for me. The shining spot of the dinner was the service. Otherwise the food quality and value was just okay. I probably will not be back on my own accord, since there are better options closer to me.
