We love stopping by the Truro and Provincetown sites in the summer too. Everything is always fresh and made to order. It’s a great stop on your way to the beach. We discovered that the Welfleet site is closed for Sundays in the winter, despite the«open today» notice on Unilocal. The Provincetown site is also closed for winter.

Amazing sandwiches. Great people! Fast service. Outdoor seating is the way to go. Great place to stop by before a ferry ride to Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard.

I live in wellfleet. Been coming here for years. Concept was great BUT portions get smaller every year but they do add more lettuce to fill up wrap. Owen the owner not very pleasant. Had the john Alden couldn’t find the turkey.

For the area, this is the place to grab something casual to eat. Mostly they have wraps.

The whale watcher is my favorite sandwich since I was 3. They’re always refreshing when headed to a pond or the ocean! Love it!

I’m not a big sandwich person. I’m more of a simple sandwich person. That is why I love Box Lunch. Easy to order, so many options. I get the Trans World Pig, which is ham, Swiss, pineapple tidbits, and mustard all rolled up in a soft pita pocket. Easy, fast, and cheap. I understand the popularity. I will return!

Not a fan. Giving 3 stars because it was clean and the food was fresh. Basically, look at the menu before you go. I looked at it and was like, «This really doesn’t seem like something I’d like, but I’ll give it a shot.» I should have followed my instinct — I just found the food and the concept to be dull and kind of a bummer. That said, if it looks appealing to you, by all means go and check it out.

Perhaps the best The Box Lunch is a little place that has been sitting here for decades. It used to be kind of a dumpy but in a nice way sort of place but they remodeled not too long ago and now it’s quaint, casual and homey. The Box Lunch is open all year long but really can crowded in the summer and sometimes has long lines. Fortunately it’s a very pleasant place to wait for your food and the lines usually move pretty quickly. The Box Lunch has a few tables and chairs but most of the business is take out and since it is only a short walk to Wellfleet Center it’s convenient to get to. For such a small place they have quite a cool and interesting menu. Almost every place in New England claims to have the best lobster roll, best clam chowder or best something. And since taste is so subjective it’s pretty much all hyperbole. However the last the time we were at the Box Lunch we ordered our favorite things and then on a whim decided to get some clam chowder. The woman behind the counter looked me in the eye and smiled and said, «it’s the best in the world». She wasn’t making a joke, she was dead serious. I’ve had a whole lot of chowder in my life, some good, some bad and most somewhere in between. This chowder was filled with clams and had a wonderful flavor. I don’t know if the chowder at the Box Lunch is actually the best in the world but it definitely is the best I’ve ever had.

Delicious sandwich for a day when you don’t feel like fried fish. The sandwiches are not gourmet or foodie, but because of that they hit the spot. Staff at wellfleet were super nice as well.

My last Porky’s was incredible with the red onion. John Alden is great too but not as filling. I hate to inform the easily satisfied tourists that they are probably enjoying canned Canadian lobster which ideally would have quality lobster base added with enough mayo oh and mayo the bread.

Arrived back in Wellfleet w/a 45 min window before leaving again for start VM Summit. The combination of «Lobster My Way & Chowder», great price points, convenient location, great crew behind counter and last but by no means least the personality of the gentleman ochritrating this clean well run oasis make this a place not to miss. Despite how busy it was we were greeted(YES! Actually looked in the eye and greeted), we had enough time for the short walk to Uncle Tim’s Bridge to enjoy our lunch & relax. The whole experience was great. All this from stopping to grab a «sandwich».

You haven’t lived till you’ve had a California roll from Box Lunch. It’s a turkey, avocado, tomato, sprouts, ect sandwich wrap. I eat TWO every time I go here. It’s the best wrap I have ever had from anywhere and there are two box lunches that nail it, so I will post this same review for both. Yum Love

A must of Cape Cod! Their rolls are amazing and always leave me wanting for more if I wasn’t full! They have become a family tradition to stop there and get the Captain Albert, Ferdinand, Gilded Lilly or even the California roll. Lots of good options and highly recommend them!

Growing up, I spent my summers in Wellfleet and eating Box Lunch a minimum of once a week. My mother, who used to work there herself, was a huge fan. After selling our house there, we’ve made trips up, and came back with a cooler full of sandwiches to enjoy back home. It pays off to be adventurous there, something I’ve learned over the years. The breakfast wraps are to die for. I’ll always be a huge fan, and can’t wait for my next visit. I am personally a big fan of the Porky’s Nightmare.

Mediocrity masquerading as a concept. A minuscule turkey et al in a wrap is not a new sandwich. It’s The Usual A-Meh-rican blandwich overwhelmed by meh bread wrap Skip it and make a fresh seafood salad from your leftovers.

This place is fantastic! My family has been coming here for years(seriously, probably more than 10 years now) and we’ve never been disappointed. The unique rolls are great, I highly recommend the Calypso. For some reason, though, the Boring(all cheese) and Tuna Melt(just as it sounds) keep me coming back. They’re inexplicably delicious! Only star lost is for the speed of service. On those days you are just ITCHING to get to the water, make sure you allot adequate time to get your food. Their lines get long and you can find yourself waiting for upwards of 20 minutes. This is on a busy day at peak hours, though, so just plan accordingly.
