Beall’s can best be described as a department store comparable to J.C. Penney’s or Marshall’s. Almost everything they sell eventually comes on sale and there are a ton of clearance items. You can find good deals at Beall’s and they usually have discounts and coupons that you can combine. However, be aware that certain brands(ie. Nike) are not covered under the coupons. There are also additional discounts for seniors on certain days. The best items that I have found at Beall’s are usually Columbia fishing shirts, collegiate apparel, and bathing suits. There is a large junior’s section and I also recently found a nice pair of Reefs flip flops for $ 15. If you’re willing to do a little digging and put some time in, you can score some great finds at Beall’s.

I recently moved to Florida and went shopping at Bealls for the first time. At checkout I remembered I forgot my coupon in the car; I told the cashier I would go grab them and be right back(admittedly near closing time), I went straight to the car and back, and was met by another associate, Susan, at the door who rudely informed me the store was closed. I told her I had been at the checkout and went to grab a coupon, and I was ready to check out(I was not doing additional shopping). Susan informed me she had already closed the registers, and that it was«after 9:00,» I said that I would pay with a credit card, and she was once again rude to me, snorted«Fine, hurry up.» I stopped and said«well if it’s an imposition to you, I’ll just leave, do you want my business or not?» She again said«hurry up.» I proceeded to check out and learned my valid coupon would not be honored; the cashier offered to call the manager, and I asked that she do so. To my surprise, Susan showed up. I say it was a surprise, because I was shocked that I had been treated this way at all, much less by the store manager. I had already made another purchase, and when Susan informed me that they would not honor my coupon, I said«fine, then I don’t want anything.» At my request the cashier refunded my previously purchased item, and I left the store with nothing. Susan, if you’re reading this, you should be upset if one of your employees had treated me the way that you did, but you should be completely embarrassed that you yourself did — you should be ashamed to call yourself a manager… that’s not the way to run a business. As I mentioned at the onset, this was my first time in a Bealls store, and I’ll never be back.

For you non-Floridians, this is pronounced Bell’s. And it’s the Florida store. Which basically means that you take a Kohl’s or Penney’s and you mate it with everything Florida(a la palm trees and flamingos and alligators) and this is what you get. This is a department store with many offerings from clothing to shoes, to housewares and gifts. Most of the adult clothing seems a little too adult, but their junior section is pretty nice. This is also a great place to get sports apparel for your Florida college teams. Don’t buy anything at full price. Like Kohl’s, they put high price stickers on things and then mark it on sale. Check out their clearance racks for some great deals on items with a colored slash on the price tag. This Beall’s is always clean and organized, and the wait is never long to check out. They do offer free gift wrapping in the back of the store, but that is almost always a long line with an adorable old lady doing her best to wrap gifts. If I have nothing to do I will stop by, but there is this burning guilt in me for giving this woman arthritis.

I came here on a whim a few days ago because I needed some new quality jeans for the winter weather and didn’t want to navigate Wiregrass mall. I’ve always been a fan of Beall’s since I discovered how affordable their clothes were, with constant deals, coupons, rewards etc. I’m also a sucker for kitschy Florida-themed stuff. Upon entering, I checked the juniors section and found some cute items. I’m in my mid-20s… not tooooo old for juniors, right? Wrong. I didn’t fit into ANYTHING. Even if the size was big enough, the cut was super uncomfortable and awkward. I then decided to finally grow up and check the women’s section, where I discovered that not only were the styles better, but the cuts were totally different and fit me perfectly. The jeans in the women’s(young women’s?) area are cut much higher on your waist and have room for what I guess we call«a real woman’s» body type. Armed with my 25% off coupon, I was excited to see my purchases were already marked down. After all the discounts, what would have been over $ 200 of clothes came to a little over $ 100. You can’t beat that! I’m looking forward to coming back soon.

I’m from Chicago so I was not familiar with this store until i moved here and checked it out. I would compare this store to a Kohl’s with all of it’s clothes for the whole family, and home goods. the twist with this place is that it is very beachy themed, so therefore Florida and tropical style. How could anyone not be happy. The deals are good and they have lots of sales. there are also tons of racks with sales which i love sales. Check this place out, you will find something for everyone. There are a cute styles of clothes, but sometimes the clothes can cater to those going on a cruise, or an older crowd. There are senior citizen and florida discount days.
