The Hungry Greek

Great spot to stop for bite to eat. I’m from Zephyrhills but take a nice ride over to Wesley Chapel for change of pace n eating experience. So many great places n W.C. n this is one of them. Clean, happy n good Greek food. For fast food my highest score is 3 stars.

Ordered the Greek Salad for Two, Gyros, and Chicken Tenders.
Greek Salad was quite large, fresh, and delicious. Just missing chick peas, but that’s just my preference being used to eating at different Greek restaurants in Tarpon Springs. The Gyros were tasty. The Chicken Tenders were hot and of decent size. Overall, a nice meal.

Awesome food. Huge portions. Worth the drive from Zephyrhills.

Returned, after driving 5 miles, because my order was wrong. Short Asian manager acted like it was my fault. Told me the cashier had been there 4 years and they have a «system». I was the only person in the restaurant when I ordered.

This is absolutely hands down my favorite Greek place. The gyros are incredible, and the greek salad is fantastic.

Delish!!! I called ahead my order and it was ready when I arrived. The portions on my salads and pitas were quite satisfying. The food was hot and tasty. Staff was friendly!

Definitely not worth the price of $ 6.59 for a veggie pita with no real source of protein except the feta cheese topping, which is still minimal. Wish I’d saved my money for a real pita a couple of miles down the road at Pita’s.

I LOVE The Hungry Greek! The ite portion sizes are perfect and their customer service is fantastic. The owners are super friendly and the staff is usually very helpful. I’ve never had a bad experience coming here. Try the baklava!

I went to hungry Greek on a Friday night. It was packed! Luckily I had called ahead so my food was ready. Nice little place with a patio. Always fast, great gyros and Greek salad.

The Hungry Greek has lots of options, but is a bit pricey. I usually get a chicken pita, and it is delicious. My boyfriend works here as well. Service is fast, when it’s not super crowded, and they are friendly. Restaurant is clean, and they also offer outdoor seating.

Hungry Greek in Wesley Chapel has the best Greek food I’ve ever had. I’ve been all around Tarpon Springs trying gyros and greek salads, but Hungry Greek takes the cake. It is located across from Florida Hospital on Bruce B. Downs in Wesley Chapel and has indoor/​outdoor seating. The staff has always been friendly and efficient when I order. The restaurant is clean. It is located in a small strip mall with DIckey’s BBQ and a military recruiting center.
The food is outstanding. I’ve had the traditional gyro, chicken pita and the giant Greek salad. Everything was perfect. Well cooked, well assembled and priced fairly (sandwiches under $ 7). They cut the gyro meat in house and the veggies are fresh. The chicken has always been juicy and well seasoned. Tzatziki is perfect and the Greek salad is huge with the best potato salad under it! My favorite Greek restaurant by far. They serve wine and beer as well.

Always the tastiest. Always consistent. Always my healthier go-​to. I typically order the Chopped Mediterranean Salad with Grilled Salmon… bomb! Their Chicken Hungry Greek is amazeballz! Always excellent service and super-​freakin crowded, especially during lunch hours. You will still get consistently great food… and PLENTY of it! Definitely worth it… I am a regular here!

After much thought, and my most recent experience yesterday, the decreased rating has been kind of overdue.
I get a to-​go order here a few times a month. The village salad is something I never waver from. I order it to bring home for dinner that evening or lunch the following day. No matter what, I don’t leave the area without it…
Until now.
Steadily my dining experiences or to-​go orders have been on the decline. It saddens me when this happens. It’s horrible when I finally decide that I just have to part ways. It takes a lot for me to say that I won’t dine somewhere that I once boasted about. A lot… Well, yesterday was finally my «a lot» moment.
The salad I use to love has slowly been shrinking in size. The service has slowly deflated from the once fantastic to the now ever-​so-​bad feeling of thinking I’m interrupting their social time to order food.
The owner that I once really liked for his enthusiasm and friendliness couldn’t have cared less to be enthusiastic nor friendly.
The girls working there were more interested in socializing with each other. The cashier, was just downright unfriendly and borderline rude. She didn’t really give the warm fuzzy feeling.
Maybe, just maybe, if the guys that were working yesterday were the only ones there then it may not have been so evidently time for ties to be severed. They were the only ones not socializing it up and one even went so far as to question if we were even being helped.
This unfortunately, is something that usually happens when a business is no longer new and undoubtedly has built up enough momentum to not really need to go provide the basic good experience let alone go the extra mile. Sadly, it’s often the same thing that leads to their unknown demise. It’s called too big, too soon or too little, too late. However you see it, neither have a good outcome.

Great food, great place and great people! Love to come to this place with my family. Able to order it and pick it up in 10 minutes. The manager is awesome and friendly !

Really really good Greek food here. The place is always immaculate and the staff are super friendly. The food is fresh. Would recommend the hummus sticks and lemon rice soup. Those two always do the trick.

I don’t think it’s nice to laugh at someone, who is trying to put order, especially if that someone is first time, and has poor vision. I felt really uncomfortable, instead of showing me the right spot where i need to go to order food. Girls asked me if i was picking up and i said «no», i said «i would like to eat in here». and have to comment to stop laughing and im first time here.

plates are deep but kind of small, because rice is on the bottom, and you need to get there first to get some rice, and that makes your beef falling

Good gyros. Sponge docks are better, but that’s about an hour away, so this is a good local alternative that does the trick.
Staff is nice and food comes fast.
Gyro meat is like anywhere else… salads look huge (haven’t tried one for taste)…I’m not a fan of the chicken here but my husband likes it.

While shopping at Wire Grass Mall, and after all that walking, it was time to eat .
I consulted my trusty Unilocalers for nearby places to eat. As usual you guys deliver. I settled on reviews that raved about the Hungry Greek Restaurant.
Boy I was not disappointed. My gyro pita and Greek salad were delicious. Hugh portion. Priced right.
My wife, the critic, was licking her chops .
This place is super clean, friendly, service like 5 stars, and the food we ate was outstanding.
It’s basically down the block from the mall across from the new hospital on Bruce B Downs Blvd just north of SR 56.
If ur in the area a want a fresh quick meal with a very clean and friendly atmosphere run here don’t walk!
