Went here on a recommendation from a friend on best place to get sushi in West Chester area. I got carry out. First of all, I like that they do half price on carry out. But the sushi was definitely«half price sushi» worthy. The restaurant had kind of a gross smell when I went to pick it up and when I got home and looked at my rolls, the avocado on top of one of my rolls was browning pretty bad. I understand avocado does brown quickly, but it really kind of ruined my appetite for the sushi because it just gave me the impression that none of it was fresh. It all tasted pretty good, but I had an unsettling feeling the entire time wondering if the fish was as gross as the avocado.

My good friend is in from Minnesota and asked to come back again. Spending Christmas time with dancing roll. Some good brews and great sushi. These happy hour specials are great. And a hot dog in sushi… much better than expected.

The reviews and the ratings of this place proves to me that Unilocal is useless when it comes to ethnic food. People around this area must not know what good sushi is. I grew up in Japan, and their cheapest sushi chain over there would be far better than this place. Don’t get me wrong. This place is «okay». it’s not gross or anything. But nothing special. But when I want to eat some sushi, I go to Ando in Blue Ash. I watched a young guy teaching another young guy how to make rolls. You all need to watch this documentary called«Jiro dreams of Sushi» on Netflix. Maybe it’ll make you appreciate the art of Sushi. For those of you who doesn’t know any better, this place isn’t too bad. I didn’t get sick from eating their sushi :-)

Well another great meal and service. Dani was our server today and most the other times. She always offers great customer service. The spider roll was a first and it was delicious. As always the sea urchin is my number one choice along with soft shell crab.

Love Dancing Roll. I get takeout once a month or so and the service is always great. Sushi is half price all the time and it makes it affordable to get often. The sushi is always great and delicious. I highly recommend you try it.

We ordered take out from Dancing Roll on a Thursday night. It was one of the fastest take out calls ever and I was told the order would be ready in 20 minutes. Alright! When we opened up the bag at home, our order was exactly right and came with chopsticks, soy sauce, and generous sides of wasabi and ginger. We ordered edamame and four rolls. The edamame was warm and lightly salted, and one order was a good amount for two people to share. The Alaskan roll was good if unremarkable. I liked the spicy salmon roll(yes it’s just a salmon roll with spicy mayo, but it’s a great combination) and the rainbow roll was good as well. The best roll was the spider roll. Crispy soft shell crab and crab stick, plus cucumber, avocado, lettuce and a tasty sauce. Yum! The only thing we didn’t like was the soy sauce, which was super salty. We used our own low-sodium Kikkoman instead. All told, a delicious night in cost only $ 22 plus tip. We will definitely order again, and I’d like to dine in sometime too!

I’ve been to Dancing Roll many times and sorta can’t believe I haven’t reviewed it yet. Back in the day we used to go to Dancing Wasabi in Mt. Lookout after the bars closed and had the best sushi there we had maybe ever had. Our first time at Dancing Roll seemed awwwwfully familiar… so we mentioned to the waiter how much it tasted like Dancing Wasabi and he confessed many of the Wasabi staff had left there and opened Dancing Roll. Good for us! Although the place is on the small side I’ve never had to wait for a table. Maybe it’s just my timing. The prices can’t be beat for the quality. Half price rolls every day! I have maybe had 70% of the rolls on the menu and never gotten one I didn’t love, my favorite being the Caterpillar Roll. So with all the love, why not 5 stars? They broke a cardinal sushi rule. They are of the«spicy mayo = spicy tuna roll» school. No. Spicy mayo does not make a spicy tuna roll. Dancing Wasabi did it right. You know better, guys! If they would throw away their spicy mayo bottles I would give them 5 stars. Ordered without the mayo though, the spicy tuna roll is delicious!

Great sushi, time and time again. This area is so lucky to have this hidden gem. This town is full of chain restaurants, so it’s nice to be able to eat at a quality place with welcoming, personable owners where everything is prepared upon ordering. Menu is large but not overwhelming, food is consistent in its quality and you never feel unwelcome when you walk in. A+!

Pretty good! I’m cautious of where I eat raw fish but was pleasantly surprised by this place. A good choice if you live locally. Staff is nice and the saki goes well with both the udon and sushi. The only improvement is I wish it was a little bigger, however this obviously isn’t their fault. Cheers!

I always feel like this place is my hidden dive in the suburbs. But, as you can see from the reviews, I’m not the only one that’s discovered it. The carry out service is fast and consistent. I’ve order carry out several times and I’ve always received exactly what I ordered. The food was hot and made to order correctly. Inside, the restaurant is dimly lit and has never felt overly full. This is nice, because you feel like it’s just for you and, it’s not too loud. It’s easy enough to have conversation without having to tell. The sushi is made to order and several are half price all the time. There’s a good selection of mainstays and a little more inventive, like hotdog sushi. It’s a nice place, makes you feel like you’re on s little adventure. Bring your friends or a date, they’ll think this place is your place like you discovered this unique little joint.

I frequent Dancing Roll about once a week either dine in or take out(addicted). It’s a great casual sushi restaurant with HALFPRICE sushi on all their rolls, everyday!!! Can not beat the prices, even on the specialty rolls. A few of my favorite rolls: Sunday Morning Roll California Dream Roll Spicy Shrimp Tempura Roll Dancing Lobster Roll House ginger dressing is one of the best in my book!

Great value and tasty sushi. Lunch special with two rolls, miso soup, and salad is only $ 6. Get the hot fish roll! Many specialty rolls to choose from as well. Will definitely be back.

I took my mom out for lunch today, this was our first time here. My first thought was that with it being half price sushi, it wouldn’t be that great. We chose our seats and asked for water. The water had no ice in it, so I had to ask for ice for both of us… to which the waitress acted annoyed. Then she only brought us one small glass to split between us. Not looking good so far, but it got better. I did like that she brought out our miso soup before we even ordered. It was hot and tasty. Between the two of us, we ordered a baked salmon roll, shrimp tempura roll and a Philly roll. It came out in decent time, however, the waitress had all 5 tables mixed up and the poor guy bringing the orders out said he felt like an idiot. He got it straightened out quickly, no big deal. All three rolls we ordered were actually quite good. My only complaint is that they were a little on the small side, and very skimpy on the sauce. The salmon in both rolls tasted fresh and the tempura roll was good. All in all, a good experience and you can’t beat the price. We paid $ 12.50 before tip for three rolls and miso. Despite the no ice debacle and the slightly less than stellar attitude of the waitress, I’ll definitely try this place again.

Great lunch special! 3 rolls plus miso soup and salad for 8.99. The salad wasn’t that great but the soup and rolls were lovely. I had the Shrimp Tempura roll, Yum Yum roll and Sunday Morning roll. I really enjoyed all three. It was pretty cheap and delicious lunch. I would give them 5 stars if the service was better. I walked in and nobody said anything to me so I had to ask if I should sit myself or wait to be seated. Also once I sat down, it took about 5 – 10 minutes before I was greeted by a server. It was super busy so I give them the benefit of the doubt.

He is new to the area and we are just beginning to scout out our favorite restaurants. We love sushi, so, on a recent visit, we decided to stop in. The hostess and wait staff were friendly, and our drink orders were taken immediately. I will concur with the other reviewer who stated that it’s not bad for half-price sushi. We prefer a little more variety in our sauces and creativity in our rolls, but for the basics, and the price, this place was delicious, and had friendly service. We ordered six rolls, and spent $ 42 before tip. I am a firm believer in tipping on the full amount of the check, before discounts or coupons, especially when the food is hand prepared, labor intensive, and the service is good, so with tip, we spent $ 57 for the 3 of us. We will most likely be back when the opportunity arises.

I am always skeptical of half price sushi restaurants. Sushi is something that I almost prefer to pay full price to ensure I am getting full price fresh fish. The ambiance is ok. It isn’t very big and all the seating that is jammed in leaves you feeling a little claustrophobic. The kitchen is open, but knowing that your kitchen is open and in view of the customer, you might want to make sure it is clean and organized. We started with the fried crab. It was something different and very tasty. We ordered the rainbow roll, sunday morning roll, orange roll, and playboy roll. They were all okay. You could tell that is wasn’t super fresh fish. The service was good. The wait staff was super friendly. Overall, it is okay for half price sushi, but I’ll stick with full price sushi in the future.

The music in this place was awesome. It was trendy new pop music and in a dimly lit sushi restaurant can make for quite the swanky date night! If that didn’t make me think this place was cool it definitely was the huge table of indian teenage boys talking obnoxiously loud behind me about the girls they were courting(Dude, like, she’s cool, but I should dump her, like but she works out!). As annoying as it was, it was a slight indicator to trendy! right on! The server was super nice! She asked if it was my first time and gave me the run down on how to order and also asked if I would like a water while I wait! She also let me know that their sushi was HALFOFFALLTHETIME. My $ 14 roll turned into $ 7 and I was SUPER happy about that. Elated actually. I ordered the American dream roll and it was delicious! The next time I crave sushi I’ll be here!

I hear a lot of people talk about the best sushi in Cincinnati & for some reason people always pick/suggest a hip over priced sushi bar downtown. Almost as if a high price tag and being surrounded by extras from a Taylor Swift music video are staples of good sushi. well everyone is wrong, forget all that you have been brain washed to believe because Dancing Roll is arguably the best sushi spot in Cincinnati. This little sushi bar is in suburban West Cheater located in a strip mall has no frills on the interior but guess what, they make some damn good sushi. Let’s be honest most of what you pay for in your sushi price is the atmosphere and location costs. Yeah it is nice to have mahogany accents and old Asian murals hanging around as you eat but guess who pays for it, you. So this cozy little sushi bar in Suburbia can keep the quality of their food up and the cost of their food down which makes for the perfect storm of Sushi greatness. I would recommend the Sunday Morning roll, volcano roll, salmon skin roll, salmon roe, squid & octopus. But I am sure everything they make is great.

Amazing — amazing — amazing. I was headed up to the West Chester area Saturday evening and decided to search for a sushi place on Unilocal and low and behold — found this little gem. And what a northern metro Cinci nugget it is. After being greeted by the very warm/friendly(cute too) Kia, I sat up at the bar and began to ask about the signature rolls. After coming to terms with my standard indecisiveness, i just asked Kia to pick her favorite three rolls. She ended up bringing me the«Playboy», «Calamari» and«Special Lobster» rolls… And they were all excellent. I’ve eaten a lot of sushi«, Trust me, and this place is an experience not to miss. The service was A++ and the owner even came out and said hello and thanked all the patrons — which as far as I’m concerned, a dying art form for sure. Great to see her take pride in her establishment! I’m so excited about this place that I’m trying to figure out when I can return for dinner before heading back to NM. I’m so jealous Cincinnati!!! Enjoy!
