The food is good except for karekare we ordered we can’t cut and chew the meat but when we went to the cashier to request for replacement the cashier Delle won’t let us have a different dish instead gave another piece of meat she sliced into small bits and gave to me. Feels like I’m insulted. We still can’t eat it. I wish the cashier treated me well. I thought I’ll buy more food for take home but I changed my mind.

We love this place. Always has a great selection of meat and veggie dishes for their combos. We definitely considered this comfort food for us. I’m not Filipino decent but over the years I’ve grown to love the food. I recommend the chicken or pork adobo, beef steak, bihon(stir fry skinny noodles), fish in the broth(don’t know the name), the menudo and especially the bbq chicken or pork. Majority of the dishes I’ve tried are very flavorful. I’ve never tried their breakfast but they do offer items like longanisa(sausages), eggs and garlic fried rice for breakfast. There is also free sour soup(sinagong) with your meal. For two combos our bill averages out to less than $ 20.

This place is always crowded so you know they have good Filipino food. Love the great customer service, courteous, fast and always patient when customers have a lot of questions Love the friendly cashier Del. I not only get my combo breakfast or lunch, she manages to have me try their karioka, turon, Suman, garlic peanuts etc. Great sales woman!

It’s so hard to get Filipino food in Corona. Every time I travel to West Covina/Covina area I have to stop by here for a bite to eat. This place has some renovations done. The staff is very friendly to those new to Filipino cuisine. They are not afraid to explain to you each item. They give very generous portions. Its a home cooked meal to go. It’s cheap and reasonable fast food. Tip: If you do not know what to order just ask for combo #2(2 item combo) small egg rolls(Lumpia Shanghai) and bbq chicken or pork on a stick. Cannot go wrong with that!

I really wish that the food tasted better. :/Over the years the food quality here has diminished. I would rate this place 2.5÷5 stars because not all everything on the menu is not good. When I come here I like to get lechon kawali(Crispy fried pork belly). You can tell when it’s cooked fresh because of the aroma it has and the texture of the meat is tender, while the skin is really crispy and crunchy. If it has been sitting out for a while the skin would still be crunchy, however the meat would be a bit more firm. In this case, the toughness and non crispy skin is an indication the food isn’t fresh and has been refried. I love to eat… And I couldn’t even eat more than 2 pieces. I really had to scavenge though to find the best pieces to eat. The lechon kawali pairs nicely with a sauce called ‘Mang Tomas’. It’s a blend of liver, vinegar and spices to give it that additional sweet and spicy flavor. When you’ve had a taste of it, you’ll never forget the flavor and distinction it brings when eating it with the crispy pork. This sauce is pretty thick, and made as such for a reason. When I ask for the sauce, it comes in small to-go ramekins. The sauce has been diluted. It tastes as if the full flavor is not there. Maybe they dilute it to make more of the sauce and save money? I don’t know why exactly but it definitely needs to change. I really come here for the lechon kawali as its my favorite dish, but I’ll always pair it with one other entrée. Do not let the pictures fool you! If this place was like Panda Express, I would’ve asked for samples of everything before I made a decision of what to get. Too bad it isn’t. So it’s really a pick and you’ll find out when you start eating if the food is good or not. It’s not consistent. This place overall is a old and outdated. A bit over crowded with chairs and tables next to each other. The lady behind me eating had our chairs back to back. On the bright side, if you love TFC(The Filipino Channel) and the soap operas, you can eat and watch a series or two while there. After eating, you just leave your plates and stuff there. Someone will bus it for you. It should however be done on a regular basis. I didn’t see anyone come out during the time I was there. Good service to offer, but a little unappealing to see many dirty plates and food just sitting out in the open for so long. I know it was during their rush time as the lines were full, however that should not be an excuse. Someone should be assigned to clean up after each table leaves. There must have bee at least 5 tables that still had plates and stuff on it when I left. Used to love coming to this place for breakfast and lunch… Unless this place changes the way it serves it’s food and adds the love it used to have, I won’t be back. I’ll spend the extra couple dollars and wait a few more minutes at a restaurant up the street to get some good quality Filipino eats.

If you make it for lunch special, the price is good for what it is. The place is run down but the food is good. The people that work here are very nice. I love the sausages here, and they give a great amount of food for the price.

Lechon kawali was greasy and so was the free sour soup. The sauce for the lechon was too sweet. Rice was mushy bordering on over cooked and some grains were discolored. I always say that I have higher expectations for Filipino restaurants as I believe that my homemade food always taste a lot better. Gave this place a chance as we were doing or grocery shopping at Seafood City and hunger pangs struck us hard that we didn’t want to venture far. The lack of patrons should have been a giveaway but we decided to risk it. In short I was not impressed, neither was my mom, because the fish soup she ordered wasn’t anything special either. Hopefully they’ll improve that way I might come back.

Pros: cheap Filipino breakfast foods and your favorite dishes! If you need a better reason to pass by, convince your significant other or companion that you need to buy groceries at Seafood City next door. Then conveniently swing by this restaurant since it’s «on the way». Cons: the parking can be… tricky. The drive into the plaza also suffers from poor maintenance, which could damage your car. Especially if you’re a young man who drives a «suped up» Honda Civic, etc. Case in point: don’t expect your body kits and mufflers to go unscathed. Then there’s the infamous lines. If you arrive before the breakfast rush, then you might be able to get your food in 5 minutes. But I’ve seen the line take 20 – 30 minutes long for the people at the end. You’ve been warned!

Whenever we come to L.A. we visit this plaza. It is mostly Filipino markets and food. Today we decided to try this place for lunch. Much as I would like to I can’t really go to 4 stars. I wish Unilocal would allow ½ stars because I could go to 3.5 stars. Like many(most?) Filipino places there is no waiter service. It’s cafeteria-style. Get your tray, go down the line, and point at what you want. It’s generally better to specify a «combo» and you’ll pay a single combo price. What made this place better than most was the selection. A LOT of different items to choose from. It would have been better if they had labeled them all since many of them looked very similar(i.e. like beef stew, except at least one dish was goat not beef). Some items are obvious, of course. My wife ordered three two-item combos, plus some«BBQ»(grilled pork skewers), some turon, and something else I don’t remember now. Portion size was small, especially for the price paid. The pork adobo(baboy) was good, as was the spicier beef kaldereta. I didn’t get the sinigang(I always leave that for my wife… she loves it). The lumpia Shanghai was mediocre(don’t bother… not really bad, but not really good either). The BBQ skewers were pretty good, but the skewers were burned and tended to crumble(that never happens when my wife makes them!). Another beef dish was like beef stew, maybe with a bit more garlic. It was tasty enough, but even my wife didn’t know what it was. I didn’t try the goat(kambing) this time. All in all, a solid three stars for flavor and a ½ bonus for a larger selection. I’d go four if they had larger portions though they did not skimp on the rice, which was nice.

Food selection is wide. Their prices are very affordable. However, when it gets close to the store closing at night, they still offer food that look ridiculously old! I understand that they are about to close already, but, it is just not right to sell food that deserves beyond giving it away for free. Also this place uses this cleaning agent that has a really strong smell that diffuses to the whole restaurant that I feel like I am eating it while dining. Awful smell!

If you’re not into filipino food you’re in the wrong place but if you are this establishment has the widest selection of authentic filipino food around. The food is reasonably priced, delicious, savory dishes, and the beef caldereta is a definite must. If ever in West Covina try and stop by you won’t regret it.

We love the food and the people here! 20 bucks feeds a family of 4. This location has plenty of parking(v. LA) — convenient and free. But their bathroom is filthy.

Ordered the kambing for early lunch which came with garlic rice which had egg in it as well. Garlic rice was just right not oily or too salty which seems to be quality of other places, I wish there was more garlic in it but I’m a garlic lover & there’s never enough for me. Kambing was tender, tasty, well seasoned, and not oily just right. The only negative I can say is the place needs to hire someone to clean off the tables, they’re clearly busy because of the quality of their food.

I ordered the Tocino breakfast for $ 3.99. It came with 2 eggs and garlic fried rice. It was already pretty crowded when we arrived but the line moved along fast and the employees were very friendly. Honestly that’s something that I’m not used to. There’s only been a few Filipino places that actually showed acceptable customer service. The garlic fries rice was my favorite and I would come back just to order that but with their reasonable prices I’d come back to try their other entrees.

had their 3.99 breakfast special w a kind of garlic fried rice, 2 eggs and tapa. I want to give it 2 stars because I was expecting the dry type of tapa but this tapa was more like beef steak with all the sauce and no onions… is there tapa like that? Regardless, it was not bad and they give big portions. Also they were kind enough to let me have the special even though it was 15 minutes past when they offer it. I’ll update the review as I have other dishes here and come a little earlier to give it a proper score.

Delicious Filipino food. Specials during lunch for less than $ 7. The service is friendly and prompt. I always say hello to the people that work there and they always make me feel at ease. The restaurant is spacious and they have the TFC. The Filipino Channel at all times. The Filipino programming is there for the customers. I liked how 2 non-Filipino customers were eating there while I ordered my food to go. I ordered the beefsteak and the roasted pig. I also ordered the jeproks,…its a crispy, potato-chip thin dried fish. I eat weird stuff… lol! The nice cashier lady hooked me up with a sinigang soup. For 3 items, i paid under 16 dollars. Fast, friendly service and i will be back again to try other items.

I had initially wanted to stop by Tastee for breakfast at 8am, but they had put out a sign that they weren’t opened until 9am. So then I went across to see what I can find opened at 8am. Luckily, DJ was opened. Not only opened, but popping! I was in the mood for pastries, but ended up with Filipino rice dish since that’s what they were serving in line. I stood in line not really knowing what to order since there was no menu. I could see that they had a lot of the typical Filipino fare ready to serve, including tocino, longanisa, tinapa, beef tapa, and egg rolls. By the time I got to the front, I asked for beef steak and onion, which came with fried rice and ordered a cup of coffee. All that for $ 5! The coffee came in a styrafoam cup without a lid, so I had to drink most of it before getting back into the car. The beef steak was pretty good and the fried rice was ok. Maybe I should have gone for the plain white rice. The restaurant is pretty big and plenty of seating. There’s also a bakery section.

I will never return nor eat food from here. Got hungry after the husband and I finished an early morning grocery run and this was right across the store so we thought we’d try their breakfast. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food was a bit oily but still satisfied the tastebuds. However, there was a COCKROACH crawling around the condiments near our table. Needless to say, we lost our appetites and immediately stopped feasting. I managed to snap a photo, but the camera-shy roach was just too darn quick for my phone’s shutter speed so it was a bit blurry. #SomeoneCallTheHealthDept. #CheckYo’selves #CleanUpAndFumigate
