I been waiting for this location to come up in maps and Unilocal to give it a review. This locations is new. The location I been going to is on hacienda Blvd. So it was nice to see one open up closer to me. But! The girls here are extra rude. Every time I visit they seem like they don’t want to be there and it shows. Every time that I’ve been here they are rude and everytime my wife has been there they are rude to her. I over heard one of the girls, I think she is shift manager talk to her workers and she treats them like a mad fed up mother. Demanding them to wash the dishes before they go home. When I ask for sauce the girls act like it’s coming out of their check. Very rude. If they don’t want to work there then get another job. The presentation of the food is poor. The hacienda location does everything 20x better than this one.

This place is a bummer: they don’t have the Louisiana hot sauce. I wonder it it’s a cost issue? Either way, I won’t go there for that specific reason. It’s a waba staple

CAUTION: Check your order before you leave… this particular Waba has gotten my order wrong 3 times in a row within week. Since their GO, my wife has experienced multiple instances of the same thing! WEWILLNOT be returning to this location and caution you if you visit them. I only find out about the error when I arrive home and open it up, I don’t have the time to have them check before I leave as other Waba locations have no problem getting 3 chicken bowls and 1 half n half with brown rice correct! The level of staffing is also well below par, very grumpy employees and extremely slow service… fyi, the employee friends show up and they appear to receive preferential treatment! This appears to be during weeknights around 8pm. Keep it up and the building will be empty again within 6 months!

I came here on a weeknight and was the only customer there other than a couple that was already sitting there eating their food. It might’ve been around 9pm or so. So naturally you would think there’s no way they could mess up my order right? WRONG. I ordered a chicken & vegetables only. Meaning no rice. The cashier who seemed like she was narrowly paying attention to me then asked«White or br… oh wait» then smiled and I said«yeah, no rice». So we’ve confirmed no rice right? Cool. So I get my food, go to my car, decide that I don’t trust the cashier and look into my bowl. Lo and behold in all it’s glory is a bowl full of rice. I don’t like to demean people and the work that they do, but is your job REALLY that hard that you can’t even get«chicken and vegetables only» right? Especially considering I was the only customer there to place an order? I would say not. If you can’t even get«chicken and vegetables only» right, exactly how far do you think you’ll go in life? Let’s ponder that for a minute, or however long your attention span will allow you to.

The Chuntis that work here need to chill it with their attitude. Went in when there was no line and was constantly rushed to order. Can I look at the menu first??? Also, please don’t roll your eyes when I ask for sauce packets. It’s not coming out of your paycheck honey.

Simple healthy decent portions food at an average price. They have brown and white rice, tofu, shrimp, salmon, steak, chicken, and vegetables. Pickled carrots, and sauce station. Fill up your own drinks, overall a good alternative to standard fast food. I docked one star because they had the most boring channel on, and tables weren’t being wiped down.

So glad they finally opened a waba grill close to my house. I’ve been here a couple of times and the service is great. The restaurant is very clean which is nice.

The food is good, that’s what the three stars are for but I just wanted to Unilocal about the ladies behind the counter. They’re both eating their bowls a little too close to the register… Just feel it’s really unprofessional and they stare out to the tables as if they’re mad that were here. Smh

I heard this place is good and my friend recommended it to me because i wanted to eat a healthy lunch but wow you can’t just pick an item and assume it’s healthy here. The calorie count on the side is sill steep and their waba sauce is on everything! I guess an upgraded supposedly healthy spot. I was not a fan and everything is drenched in their waba sauce which is basically a thick teriyaki sauce. I’ve heard from other people that their rice gets dry so they have to drench their rice in sauce for flavor. Wow what a way to add a a few extra hundred calories. To me, it seemed like a brighter version of yoshinoya. Better quality but not the best. Each item comes out to be around $ 9 – 12. I ended up sticking with the salmon salad. Totally different from their normal chicken/beef veggie bowls that I thought I would be getting here. But in glad I got the salmon salad, it was good, I had to dissect the meal before I ordered and said no teriyaki sauce and dressing on the side. Glad I did. The salmon still had a lingering sweet crust taste to it. Enough for flavor, not overwhelming. I barely used the dressing though, it was pretty sweet. Forgot what it was but tasted a bit on the Asian side, meaning sesame ginger dressing? Along those lines. Overall I gave this place a shot, probably won’t come here on my own again, but I did get a free waba«gym» bag I won’t probably use because my purchase was over $ 10

WaBa Grill is a good place to go for healthy and fresh food quick. This store is located in a small strip plaza near the corner of Amar Rd and Azusa Ave in the«Little Manila» section of West Covina. I ordered dinner takeout from WaBa Grill very recently and got the No 12 Half-Half Rice Bowl($ 6.75 plus tax), which was half teriyaki chicken and beef over choice of rice(I got brown). My order was all set to go in about 5 minutes, despite the place being very busy, they call out order numbers. The portion of food was packed good and heavy in a round plastic bowl. I topped off my bowl with WaBa Sauce and complementary sliced carrots and jalapenos for a spicy kick. The rice bowl was very good, served very hot, which had nice fresh flavors and the meats was very tender and soft. The brown rice was firm, cooked right. IMO, the food at WaBa is better than Yoshinoya, where I’ve found grizzle in my chicken rice bowls.

This convenient and just as delicious as all the other Waba Grills in the area FINALLY opened! It’s located on the corner of Azusa/Amar busy intersection. But, conveniently right next door to a recently opened Yogurtland for desert. It’s a very small place and seats only 49 customers inside. I wish they had more privacy around the outdoor patio area, the bus stop and traffic is within such close proximity that we just preferred eating inside.
