Ice cream is all over this area. But Scoops uses a local purveyor, Richardsons. They are THE best ice cream in the area. You could easily drive by (like I have for years) and not think twice, but check this place out. This is our regular stop now! Hodgies is the popular joint with many locals but it’s the portions, not the quality of ice cream that attract them. Instead Scoops has excellent quality and a variety of treats including Raspberry Lime Rickies. Get a treat here on a hot day and take a sit under the trees or enjoy it as you walk around Mill Pond Recreation area a mile or so up the road.

There’s nothing like the first ice cream cone of the season.
MMMM Purple Cow … creamy black raspberry with not only white chocolate chips, but chocolate chocolate as well. Nice big flat chips and plenty of ‘em.
I finally stopped at Scoops (after passing it countless times) on a ride to Newburyport one day last summer. I was happy to find Purple Cow there since they carry Richardson’s ice cream. They also have peanut butter sauce, oh yeah :)
It’s hard to resist the pull when I’m passing by!
