I was told this was just like the Oharas in Newton Highlands, which is GREAT, so I went to have a try. Some good, and overall not good. The bar tender, a woman, is NOT a good start. The cold nasty welcome is not nice. She is RUDE and abrupt. This is not a good job for someone like this… maybe they should consider a nice friendly person, like the hostess or the irish waitress who were just lovely. Then the dinner. we waited an waited and waited… the kitchen must have been having a bad night I hope that was it. Ill try it again and give them another shot because the room is nice and cozy and the food is good, like oharas.

My wife and I frequent Paddy’s often. The food is great, I recommend getting the chicken pot pie in the bread bowl, it is delicious! It is a bit small, but the awesome staff and great food make up for it!

You have to love Paddys. This is an ongoing part of the work lunch rotation because they always deliver. The food is always a good value, and when you get the right stuff you’ll be happy. I always go for fish tacos, or Ariels fish sandwich. I’ve had plenty of other things on the menu and I’m always pleased. It isn’t fancy, but it’s pretty awesome in my book.

Delicious! Sara was great and very accommodating to my picky eating demands! Kale added to the Barb salad is a perfect choice. Perfect off highway on the way back home from Boston to CT!

My wife and 2 boys(2 and 3 years old) had a wonderful dinner here! The service was wonderful, food was hot and tasted great. We had chicken pot pie, shepherds pie, and fish and chips. I can’t say enough positive about this restaurant/bar. Thank you for having us!

This restaurant has been one of the favorites in my family. We go there when we are tired and don’t want to cook for the day. Reasonable price and home cooking kind food, and of course the food tastes great. The only down side is that there is always a line waiting for table if we go at dinner hours. The longest wait I had was most than 45 minutes. The good side is there are multiple tv at where the line is, time pass by fast.

Real great local establishment if you are looking for a place for a quick bite to eat or a sit-down for lunch and dinner. You really can not go wrong with any of the selections they have here, from the nachos to the sandwiches to the pizzas, Paddy’s provides great food and it is highlighted by their friendly, quality service.

Came in for lunch. Waiter Mike was awesome. Recommended I go all out for Rafaels burger with a full breakfast meal on top. It was fantastic. The over easy egg was a great addition to the perfectly cooked burger. Will definitely be back

Awesome food and excellent service! My sister and I decided to go here for a late dinner and so happy we did! We split the fried calamari, fried pickles and buffalo chicken pizza and the food was great. Everything was serviced fresh, promptly and hot. The pizza was delicious with the buffalo chicken and their fried pickles were great. We also got the grapefruit margaritas, which is something I never seen before and they were so yummy. It’s a great Irish pub that serves A+ food with A+++ Service. Will definitely be back!

Fantastic place. My wife and I decided to have lunch there on a Friday afternoon when we were free. We loved it. The food was excellent, so was the service. everything about the place was exactly what you want in an Irish pub. I ordered off the specials menu and had a roast beef sandwich. My wife got the beef stew and it was amazing. They poured a great Guinness too. We were so happy to find such a great Irish pub in Newton. We will be back.

Their food is usually really good. I love the chicken curry and the steak tips. One item on the menu that needs an overhaul though is their wing app. They are nasty! I think they were originally frozen, tastes like day old chicken, very dry with little meat on them.

If you’re looking for a chill atmosphere that also encompasses the bar scene, this is the place. Three friends and I came here for lunch one day and is overall a place with great food and drinks, great atmosphere and great service. I ordered the full portioned beef stew and it was quite filling. Very filling, and tastes very flavorful. One of my friends ordered the Montréal burger, which in his words, «is near perfect, charred well, the buns are nice and crunchy, the meat is juicy, and the sauce is a great complement to the whole burger.» Aside from the food and drinks, the atmosphere feels very traditional in a good way. The look is very comfortable, yet the music is relaxing yet modern. The service is very attentive and helpful with any questions you may have. Overall, Paddy’s is a great place to stop by and eat, drink, or both. I would definitely come back.

Good food and great service. On a biz trip from out of town and found this place in Unilocal.Nice cozy restaurant and bar. Michael, who served me helped pick out the beef stew plate and an awesome beer for me. The beef stew was good. I’d definitely come back again when I head back here again.

Sunday afternoon, all the TV’s are tuned to sports and if they’re playing, the Patriots. This is absolutely a sports bar but it’s also a semi-fancy sit down restaurant with a decent selection of draft beers and a menu that I did not look at. I just sat here for a bit with two beers and a football game. And some of their spicy salty nut mix that was really pretty good stuff. I have no complaints.

There is not one bad thing about this place. It has a warm feeling to it, and the food is delicious. It is like you are in your grandmother’s kitchen. Anything on the menu is great, and the drinks are delicious. I love how they know how to pour a proper Guinness. The waitresses are the best, and they are always polite, and make sure you have everything that you needed. Definitely a place to go on date night! The last time I went, I had the French onion soup, which was amazing. I also had the granny’s sandwich. Usually, I will get the buffalo chicken pizza because it is simply the best pizza. Great stuff!

Friendly place to get a perfect pint. Upscale food is quite good, typical Newton prices but not bad. They admitted they fry in canola and soy oil(at least for the fried pickles, not sure what else) so I stayed away from anything that might put those objectionable chemicals in my body; but their menu is extensive, even at lunch time, so that wasn’t a problem. Kudos to them for honestly telling me, some places aren’t so straight with you anymore. Very pleasant staff all around, great fast service, quite clean(including the restrooms), and nice plating(especially for a pub.) Great stop while you’re getting your windshield replaced up the block at JN Phillips. I’ll stop in again.

Right when you walk you are greeted by such friendly staff who are ready to seat you. As you walk through you can hear the sound of live folk-type music that fills the pub and the ambiance is just like something out of Cheers. As for the food, they just had too many options to choose from and it made it difficult to pick just one thing for a meal. I got a caprese salad and crab cakes. All were delicious and you can taste how fresh the ingredients were. The crab cakes were packed with flavor and probably one of the best I’ve had. The soups were great, but the clam chowder was a bit too salty. Overall the portions were more than reasonable and you will certainly leave feeling full and satisfied. I will definitely be coming back to try more of their menu options!

I think Paddy’s is a great place. At work, we order lunch there probably once a week. They have something on the menu for pretty much anybody! One thing I would like is if they had a spinach option for their salad. I think their salads would taste great and be more appreciated with spinach as opposed to lettuce which doesn’t have much nutritional value. Pretty good otherwise. :)

Recently went to Paddy’s Pub for lunch with my wife after she had been there with a friend and loved her experience there. And while it wasn’t warm enough outside for us to sit on their terrace upstairs, we did however have a very enjoyable meal sitting at the bar. We went on a fairly quiet Monday. The Bruins were on TV and sitting at the bar was the logical choice for me. We ordered up a couple of craft beers and peruse through their pretty extensive and yet very enticing menu which also includes an entire page of lunch specials. I decided to get some help from the friendly person behind the bar and eventually settled on their Michaela’s buffalo chicken cobb salad($ 12.95) which featured some grilled buffalo chicken, hard boiled egg, crumbled bleu cheese, guacamole, salsa and tortilla strips with mixed greens. This giant salad was great, tasted very fresh and while it made for a slightly expensive lunch, it was well worth it and very filling. The wife got their Montréal burger($ 10.50) which she devoured as well and which was a burger featuring some Montréal seasoning, bacon and cheddar cheese. Not in the mood for a salad or burger? You can get a lot of other things. They have classic pub fare here such as chicken pot pie($ 9.95), fish & chips($ 14.25), and even pizzas which come in individual sizes($ 9.95) or large sizes($ 14.95). You can also get combos where you can mix a half a sandwich with a soup or salad, and they also have all kinds of classic appetizers like wings, nachos, etc. But where Paddy’s shines is with the quality of the food they churn out. While most bars are mediocre of average at best, they clearly put a lot of effort forth in their food and have built up quite a following of regulars there. And I don’t blame the regulars. On top of that, they also have a great wine and craft beer list, the latter which rotates based on seasonality and of course a full bar to top that off. With it’s friendly, cozy atmosphere and the wooden interior, the place’s atmosphere is comfortable, inviting and fun. It does get busy in there, especially since they’re very involved with the local community. Lastly, the location is fantastic. It’s adjacent to West Newton Square, just a hundred yards from 90 and there’s a good amount of street parking in that area, along with a public lot across the street. Just make sure you have quarters, and you’ll be all set.
