I am actually really upset about this. I LOVED this place but unfortunately tonight has put the nail in the coffin of my patronage of this«business». I am in the food service industry myself, have been for almost 15 years so I was just plain SHOCKED by the«service» that we were provided with this evening. I am a frequent patron of West Newton Pizza and was adamant on ordering from them every time we wanted pizzas or subs. So tonight when my best friend wanted subs, of course we ordered from West Newton! We ordered 2 subs, a salad, popcorn chicken and fries for the two of us and my son. Everything came within the quoted time but my friends sub was missing some ingredients, which we did not have in the house(hence why we ordered take out), and was toasted when not indicated. So she called the restaurant to let them know, with hopes that they could send another sandwich to replace the one that she wasn’t eating. Well, after being passed from the person that answered the phone to the person that made the sandwich, the later decided to argue about why he made the sandwich that way. Because I guess when you write«No hot peppers, extra pickles» it means that all you want is pickles(although if that were the case, why was there lettuce on it then? hmmm) Anyway, he eventually said to her, «well, what do you want me to do? Send you tomato and onion?» so I told her to say yes. I mean, if you are not going to make me the sandwich that I paid for, you better bet your @$$ that I am going to waste your time and money to send your driver back. Anyway, point of the story is that the customer service at this establishment is terrible. I used to be a VERY big fan of this place and, like I said, have given them a lot of business over the last 2 years, so to be treated like I am trying to swindle something out of them, when I have let other small things go in the past, really pissed me off. Sad, I am going to miss this pizza…

This place is one of those gems you come across from time to time that sets a new standard for enjoying food. Lost in the area, I unexpectedly stumbled into this small family owned pizza joint hoping for a quick snack and directions, but walked away with a new favorite local pizzeria. Customer service was very pleasant. Ambiance was nice, but décor could use some help. But food was fantastic. It’s been a while since I’ve had pizza that’s impressed me. I highly recommend the buffalo chicken pizza. Perfect balance of cheesy goodness and zesty shredded chicken in buffalo sauce. Topped with peppers and chillies, it was a treat to my tastebuds. If you’re in the area, try it out!

Friendly and fast service. My favorite thing to order is a pepperoni and jalapeño pizza.

Friendly service, and everything I’ve tried there so far has been great, especially the subs and fries.

Worst pizza I have ever had. I have no idea how this place stays in business. I ordered their version of the supreme pizza. Cheese is rubbery, didn’t have the pepperoni or ham, the«sausage»(along with the onions and peppers) is clearly what they would use for a philly cheese steak. Absolutely atrocious. Do yourself a favor and go to CVS across the street and get a frozen pizza.

I am definitely a frequent customer to this place. There website to order online is super easy to use. It’s college kid friendly with college kid affordable prices. Great for a late night eating session while studying! I have ordered their pizza’s, their subs and a lot of mozerella sticks and all are delicious! They also have these dinners that come with a salad and bread that are also great in quanity and quality. This is the closest NY style pizza I can get too! NY Pie is no where near NY style pizza… West Newton Pizza is hands down the best pizza in town and I have tried a lot of pizza places.

Most noteworthy for the Danger Zone subs, which scratch a certain itch for junky junkfood that occasionally i have every day. Picture your standard sub shop sandwiches, garnished with french fries or onion rings or mozzarella sticks or more than one. They’re predictably tasty, and reasonably priced. Perhaps more importantly as a lunch option, they’re reasonably sized. Despite the contents, you(okay, I) don’t feel horribly overstuffed or disgusting or dead after eating one. The folks who work there are nice and service is pretty fast, even if you don’t call ahead.

They have the worst subs, don’t even bother

I am pretty surprised by all the negative reviews, but may be it’s because I haven’t tried the pizza yet? Got delivery and it was pretty easy and fast. The prices are also really reasonable. My steak with guac wrap was delicious. I also ordered a salad with goat cheese/sundried tomatoes, which was good. The ingredients were pretty fresh. My only complaint is the salad dressing they supplied. It tasted like plastic so I used my own olive oil/balsamic and it worked out well. I’ll probably order from here again.

I live close by so I never use delivery which appears to be an issue according to the reviews. The food that we pick up is always fresh and taste great. The subs are large and are a good value. The dinner plates, especially the steak tips, are also very good. Of all the take out places in the immediate area this is my families favorite.

I placed an order through because it said they deliver to my house which isn’t too far away. I waited a little over an hour with hearing nothing so I decided to call the place and they simply said«Oh we cancelled the order because you are too far away, you should call the website». I thought that was extremely unprofessional as well as inconsiderate to just cancel my order without even informing me. I had to call to find out. I can’t imagine many businesses that would do this. I would and will avoid this place at all costs.

The food is ok, but unfortunately it took 1 ½ hrs for my pizza to be delivered… I’m literally one mile down the street so to me this is ridiculous, if you had told me it would be double the 45 mins you quote on the phone I would have no problem hoping the car and getting it instead of waiting 1 ½ hrs, also when it finally did get here it was cold and soggy! Not to mention the lady on the phone was rude and had a tude when i called after an hour 10 mins to check if everything was Ok. For a $ 16 pizza and a $ 5 tip, was not worth it… will be ordering from somewhere else next time

Took over TWO hours to receive our food delivery. Called numerous times and was told the driver couldn’t be located. Then told that our address was considered too far, even though we’ve ordered from them before and they’ve delivered to our address in Waltham numerous times. Meanwhile, we are only 3.5 miles away from their location in West Newton. Food is ok, but due to their completely poor and unreliable delivery service we will never order from them again. Good luck

I have ordered from W. Newton P&G a couple of times and have never had any delivery problems. The main reason I wanted to write this review is because of the Wellesley Hospital Salad. It is so GOOD! I ordered it the first time I ever ordered from there and it’s what keeps me coming back! I’ve also had a couple of their club sandwiches which are huge and delicious. I would definitely recommend this place for good food at decent prices.

I’ve seen many bad reviews for this place(mostly for their deliveries), but it doesn’t really deserve that– as long as you dine in there. They have the best fast food subs in town, one of their most unique subs is the«Fat Cat»: a delicious warm sub with hamburgers, french fries, mozzeralla sticks, and so much more, all wrapped into one… sub. There’s more where that came from, just check out the hot/cold subs menu.

Yuck! We had delivery of chicken pesto and cheese pizzas. The pizzas were dry and flavorless; some of the worst pizzas we’ve had. That said, the man we ordered from was very friendly and delivery was prompt(even faster than we were told on the phone), though there was an unanticipated delivery charge. I cannot recommend them even though the staff is friendly.

West Newton Pizza and Grill has amazing salads, but every time I order delivery it easily takes over an hour and a half for anything to be delivered. And I live a mile away from them. An hour and a half for a salad? Unless they are growing and harvesting their own vegetables I don’t see any reason for anything to take this long. After about the seventh time of this happening, I am done. No more.

I’ve only had their delivery food, which is delivered reasonably fast 2 miles away, and it’s been decent. Not a place I order from often, but a very reliable place to order from. They did give me bbq pizza when I ordered buffalo online once, and never responded to my complaint, and for that they definitely lose a star. If you’re good about specifing what you want they make a damn good pizza(their thin crust is quite good as well!) and you probably won’t be too disappointed(like some of the other reviewers seem to have been). It’s not Sweet Tomatoes, but it’s a step up from Parrot Pizza, and that makes it the most average pizza in West Newton center.

I can’t really speak to the extremely negative reviews I’ve seen below. I have only had positive experiences with W. Newton Pizza(I have ordered delivery 5 or 6 times). One time I waited 45 minutes to get my order, but hey, this is delivery. Let me tell you about W. Newton Pizza. They have around 20 different varieties of subs. A number of these subs come with Mozzarella sticks or spicy fries ONTHESANDWICH. You can get a chicken cutlet or roast beef with cheese, mozzarella sticks, bbq sauce, etc. Some of subs are even made WITH garlic bread as the roll. These subs are not healthy options obviously, but unique to other places in the area for sure. I have also had their calzones, which are absolutely gigantic. A great value for the money. My wife gets the Lasagna dinner every time, and raves about it.

Order the Sicilian style pizza and you won’t be disappointed. I can’t speak to their regular style pies as I only ever ordered the Sicilian — and I ordered it many times! There is nothing cheap or previously frozen about it. It’s a very thick crust and I can usually only eat one full slice of it, but if you like this kind of thick indulgent pizza, it’s HEAVEN. My son has ordered plenty of sandwiches from them and he was always pleased. In fact we went here often back when it was CB’s, which was also very good but did not have the Sicilian Pizza!!!
