Starz is closed, found out nothing was baked on site and nothing made by Zach the owner. New owner had to fix the cock roach infestation and clean the place up. The new place is called Nosh and is awesome

Best Bagels and Bialys since I lived in Brooklyn. Adored the friendly wise cracking service. Stopped there earlier this week and was sooo disappointed that the store on Okeechobee has closed its doors. Where have you gone?

These are the best bagels I’ve ever had in south FL. No preservatives, baked every day. The guys are very friendly, helpful and quick. Beautiful breads and pastries. And there’s a day-old rack full of things that are still delicious. It’s clean, but kind of tight for space. The salmon is about $ 20/lb. and worth every dime. I love this place. Long time customer.

I’ve been going to Starz for years… since they were located in a flea market on Okechobee, which is now a car dealership. Now, not only is Starz at Emporium Shopping Centre, but on Sundays they’re at the Green Market in PBG. I live 30 minutes south of Starz, but still travel there for my bialys, which, having tried all the bialys in Boynton Beach and Delray, are still THEBEST! I’ve even packaged them and taken them to London and France! Needless to say it’s almost impossible not to buy some delicious Danish pastry, or a huge iced cinnamon bun… YUM. A bagel with a shmear and a hazelnut coffee… served with a smile! The pastries and miniature Danish from Starz, that we served at my daughter’s engagement party were sublime. Everyone I send there, including tough critical New Yorkers, agrees… Starz RULES! I didn’t know they had a waitress though… I must get back there soon.

Zachary Bloom bakes all night long and still can manage to come into Starz and stand behind the counter looking so adorable. Those big blue eyes popping out from that milky white, athletic body. 5,6,7 pack abs, I am not sure about the count. My hunch is that it is all yummy delish. That hair is just something else. Golden yellow orange, all in one at once. It’s like frosting on a holiday cake. I get a feeling that Zachery has never been married. I plan on subtly asking and will let you know. Is Zac, Shiksa friendly for going out? Kosher 24⁄7? I need to run over there now and pickup some pastries.

So much better than I dared hoped after pals raved about it. I can only attest to the prune danish and the coffee [$ 2.50 total], but they likely herald excellence throughout. Plus pleasant folks behind the counter. Outdoor seating too, if weather permits. Located next to a well stocked farmer’s market in a mall with plenty of parking.
