Cute place but food is very greasy drowning in butter. I ate here 3 different times and ordered 3 different breakfasts all were very greasy. Sorry, i wont be back.

Very cute and spacious inside with a fun beach theme. Excellent omelet combinations. Slightly pricey coffee. We had great service. Would definitely go back when in the area!

Great breakfast and lunch food. Have been here for both! Staff is always in a great mood. Service is fast and food has always been fresh. I recommend Sunny Side Up to anyone looking for a place to get good food fast. Love that I can bring my truck to get serviced at Valenti Toyota and walk over for coffee(which is great) or a meal. Oh and the cupcakes are great!

Best Eggs Benedict I have EVER had. The food is fresh, well proportioned and the ONLY reason I did not give it 5 stars is because they need more seating.

Excellent breakfast place, and very affordable. A breakfast sandwich is only $ 5! Hash browns are delicious.

Had a great breakfast! Pancakes, lobster hollandaise, and everything was on point. No issues accommodating 2 senior citizens, 2 kids, and one 18mo. old!

Friendly, welcoming atmosphere serving deliciously generous breakfast foods accompanied by big mugs of coffee. A wee bit noisy when busy.

This is the quintessential PERFECTBEACHY breakfast spot! It’s super cute inside and very clean! Colors and ambience were wonderful! The staff was very attentive and very accommodating! I had pancakes, eggs, and bacon! DELICIOUS!!! And the coffee was served piping hot in an oversized mug! This is my new spot from now on! And they have an amazing lunch menu for takeout for the beach! We had there grilled chicken(WRZ???) Sandwich w/Hummus I think it was called! YUM!!! A definite recommended spot!

We went to sunny side up around 11 am on a Sunday. They added our names to the waiting list for four people. We watched them sit three couples that arrived after we did, even though there were two tables next to each other that were open. They also sat a group of 7 people that arrived after us. We decided to leave after a 45 minute wait and seeing people being seated before us. This is not a reflection on the food but the service(lack thereof).

A charming, cozy, delicious spot. One of my favorites for a bite to eat in Westerly! I’ve been to Sunny Side Up a few times for breakfast, lunch, or just a yummy little snack(the dessert bars are out of this world, one will satiate your sweet tooth for the week) and have not yet been disappointed. Breakfast is just the ticket you’re looking for on a weekend. The sandwiches for lunch are delicious, filling, and complementary combinations. The staff have always been kind, gracious, patient, and attentive. The best part; it is incredibly affordable! I’m not sure why people would have a problem with the quaint size of this restaurant, but I’d be happy to refer them to the nearest Denny’s if they prefer the commercialized, mass produced dining experience. In conclusion, great place, great food, great people, great prices. Can’t wait to go back.

Came in on a Sunday, myself, GF and my two boys. Around 10am. Waiting 45 minutes to be seated. Place is small, about 12 tables. Service is ridiculously slow for so small a place and so heavily staffed– 3 waitresses, bus girl and a host on the floor. 2 cooks and dishwasher in back. We waited 45 minutes for food. First three meals came out together, 10 minutes later the 4th came. Food was mediocre. I had the pig pile– scrambled eggs with bacon, ham and sausage. Was«ok». Waitress had to be flagged down repeatedly. Pancakes were ginormous– a good thing I guess– but impossible to finish. Waitress complained that the reason the last meal was late was due to the grill being full of pancakes– so make them smaller! Randomly, a waitress came by and grabbed my empty coffee creamer cups off the table and dripped them all over me with no apology. Just not a good experience at all. Just got the bill– almost $ 60 bucks for breakfast too! Overpriced, poor service and mediocre food.

I work in the business, also in breakfast service. From the outside it looks like a cute breakfast nook, so my fiancé and I stopped. We were greeted rudely by someone who said ‘sit anywhere’. so we sat, with no menus. for a minute or 2. Then we were offered coffee, that’s it. So coffee we got, which when I added my creamer curdled, but to be honest I didn’t want any more interaction with the woman than I had to, so I drank my water. The waffle was soggy, and looked like it came out of the trash. It looked like they half filled the waffle iron, and it was gross. Whatever, we just wanted to get out. So we waited a while longer for our check. Which I was shocked at how much they charge for everything. Bottom line, this place is over priced, food is below average, and be careful of creamers that sit on tables.

I had breakfast here this morning. Omelette with sausage and cheese, homefries and toast. Coffee and a glass of ice water. Bill was like $ 10 + tip. Food was good. Wait staff was pleasant but under staffed. They need some counter help. I’d go again.

We have only gone here for ice cream. The choices are good, and the ice cream is also delicious. But they close when it rains, which is totally lame!!!

Here’s what went down: This is the third time I’ve been to this piece of sh#t; don’t ask me why. I was dragged there – what can I say? Each time I come here, the waitstaff is more rude and angry than the last, and this particular time was certainly no exception. We were seated(rudely) by the window; the girl with the menus glanced at the floor where she«spilled coffee,» but this did not seem to deter her from plopping the menus on the table and leaving. «Can I get you something to drink?» she almost whispers as she approaches the table, and is gone like lightning. Eh. Whatever. Then comes another nasty waitress with the food. Here’s the whole conversation: «Who got the… um???» Looking annoyed because we don’t know who gets what plate. I say: «well, generally the waitstaff knows who gets which…» «Excuse me?» she says, clearly shocked. «I’m not your waitress, sir.» «I don’t care. You work here, don’t you?» «Are you talking to ME that way?» Her eyes glazed and almost insane. «Yes, I am.» She storms off, muttering something about me being rude. The waitstaff avoid us for the remainder of the meal. Now, if I write here that the food was bad, no one will believe me. But the truth is, I have never had a worse breakfast. The eggs tasted off, like they were processed or fake or something, and none of the items in the omelet were fresh or even cooked. I ate the toast and some of the home fries, but on the whole, I was ready to leave and put the awful experience behind me. The initial waitress cautiously placed the check on the table – charging us full price of course for everything. Nice job guys. I was tempted to call the owner over and explain to her that the staff is rude and the food is bad, but I was talked out of it. On the way out the door, I did something immature and flipped the mean waitress off. She says: «Are you f#cking kidding me, motherf#cker? I’ll rip your f#cking face off.» Her cigarette dangling in her right hand. Instead of leaving, I decided to talk to her. «Did you threaten me?» I asked her. «I’ll kick your f#cking ass, mother f#cker! I’m off the clock, let’s go across the street, if you’re going to talk to a woman like you did!» Mind you, this waitress is NOT a woman. I asked for the owner, Kate. She met me at the back door as I was loudly explaining to my lovely waitress that I was going to call the cops.(I never did.) Kate, peeking her head from the back door, was not surprised or upset that her waitress threatened to «kick my f#cking ass,» and calmly stated that«If you’re going to give an attitude, she can do what she wants. She’s off the clock.» I asked if she was serious; whether this is how she chooses to run her business. She calmly nodded«yes» and snuck back inside just in time to hear me tell her the cops were on their way. I headed back to the car, but in the mean time, the lovely waitress tells me that she knows that she is a «f#cking #sshole» and she«doesn’t give a sh#t WHO knows it.» I told her that I had been in this business for 13 years, and never did I see a waiter behave so unprofessionally. I called her a few more names, got back in the car, and told her to get ready to go back to jail. SO… Needless to say, «Sunny Side Up» is not my favorite breakfast spot. Maybe they should rethink their investment in a restaurant. By the way… the only other table in the restaurant was really upset about something too. But they ate their food anyway because they«didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes.» Excellent work guys!

Went for breakfast on Father’s Day this past year. The food was good. The place is a little small, but accommodating. Found out after ordering and receiving my meal that they have no sour cream?! This is a personal taste thing, but I want it and expect it. In all seriousness, I will go back… it’s worth a second time I suppose, just to have something to compare it too. but if I keep seeing all these negative reviews, maybe I’ll think twice.

I was talked into trying Sunny Side up by my 8 year old. That and they are the only place open after noon in westerly that I know of, that serves breakfast. Upon entering it’s a cute place with adorable and yummy looking baked goods. It looks just like a breakfast place should, lots of tables and chairs. It was clean and presentable with nice beach-y décor. The problem was the food. I ordered a short stack of pancakes for my 7 year old, the short stack was huge and completely raw in the middle. I alerted the waitress and she offered to send them back but we opted to just eat around the edges that were cooked. We were pressed for time and the pancakes were large enough to give him plenty of food by just the cooked edges. She did take them off of the bill which I did not ask for, which was nice. The french toast my other son had was fine. I ordered the eggs(over easy) with homefries and toast. The homefries were flavorless and overcooked. I asked for the bacon well done, it was soggy. The eggs were very well done on one side and not cooked on the other, I asked for over easy not sunny side down. My husband had an omelet that was flavorless. Also, they had fake coffee creamer, it was international delight non-dairy creamer on the table rather than real cream. I prefer real cream in my coffee. Thank you. Overall, the food was just blah, no flavor and over priced.

I am currently sitting in Sunny Side Up as I write this review. When I pulled into the parking lot, I was nervous because there were no other cars here. Granted, it is 11AM, which is a little late for breakfast and a little early for lunch. I would have been here earlier, but I was arguing with my friends on Facebook about the How I Met Your Mother series finale. Anyway, please don’t let the lack of vehicles deter you. The staff was very friendly, and the food was great. My friend and I both had The Pig Pile, which was a pile of scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage, ham and a side of toast. I would highly recommend it! Add a little hot sauce to it for some heat! It would be perfect as a Sunday morning hangover cure. Side note, they also have an assortment of fresh pastries, cakes and cookies if you’re in a hurry! Overall, a great place!
