Good selection! Extremely BAD customer service.
I have been shopping here weekly for about 6 months. Normally I purchase a case of wine on each visit to obtain the 10% case discount.
Today I was purchasing a wine case of .750 bottles but the store was out of inventory (2 bottles short) of the 12, I wanted. I selected a 1.5 bottle of the wine that was short and at checkout was told the 10% discount would not apply because they were out of inventory and a 1.5 bottle is not applicable. I replied that the inventory outage is not my fault, why should I be penalized when I am acting in good faith
I attempted to speak to the manager on duty. He was sitting in the overhead balcony behind the computer. He indicated he was busy and said he would be right with me. Well 5 – 10 minutes later and a phone call or two, he still did not come down to acknowledge me and discuss the matter.
I will never go back to this store and can only encourage others to avoid it also. Clearly they don’t give a rats ass about their customers and service.

Wow! what an amazing store! I tend to be overly critical because I am in the business, but this store has it all! Let me break it down for you.
1. Location. It is located near all the local beaches and also other major retail such as grocery stores and drug stores.
2. Selection. The wine choices here rival many shops that I have seen in large urban areas. They have many of the everyday drinkers, but they also carry an amazing selection of «higher end» wines and eclectic selections. It would be very difficult to find better Bordeaux and California selections anywhere else in town. Not to mention their Italians and new world wines.
3. Staffing: The wine guy here knows his stuff. He speaks with intelligence and doesnt make you feel pressured or stiff. He also is quick to offer wine choices that you may have never had, but he never demands he only ask.
4. Events and tastings. The wine guy was telling me about the stores FREE Tasters club. They meet once a month in a special room upstairs for amazing «One of a kind» tastings. They recently did a Skype tasting with the winemaker at Rodney Strong. They also invite local chefs to pair wines with and also offer big discounts for purchases. They also do many outside events. They recently did a Chocolate and Wine stroll in downtown Westerly and are now working on a Latin American Wine dinner at a local restaurant.
Overall. The feeling here is relaxed and un-​pressured. A this certainly deserves 5 stars!

Ok, I hadn’t stopped in the Wine Store in quite for a very foolish reason. I’ve been happy going across town to another liquor store (which I’ve rated 5 stars) & had shunned the Wine Store. What a fool I have been.
They have an awesome beer selection. They have you covered with all your lite & domestic brews plus they have a pretty extensive selection of craft beers. I was pretty impressed. On my last visit I picked up a Brekenridge sampler pack, Grey Sail’s Stargazer Imperial Stout & New London Brewing Co’s Blonde Ale, all good stuff. I would have bought more but figured I’d just have to come back.
They also have a vast selection of the hard stuff. I’ve been in here many times throughout the years & have always been impressed by their inventory.
I can’t comment much on their wines since I’m not a wine drinker. On one occasion I did have to pick up some wine & got some helpful recommendations.
I guess if I had to leave off half a star it would have to be because they don’t offer a mix a 6 option & aren’t open on Sundays. Either way, I’ll be coming back again & recommend anyone else should check it out.
