It’s decent Italian food, but really not anything to write home about. Server was sweet, but the food was just ok. Fried zucchini sticks — they tasted mushy to me but my fiancé said they had a bite to them. Umm, not sure if we were eating the same dish *shrug* Meat lovers pizza — sausage was bomb and so was pretty much everything else except for the canned ham they used as a topping. The extra water from the ham made the pizza a little soggy in the middle. Pink sauce tortellini pasta with chicken — I forget what it’s called but this is pretty much it in a nutshell. The chicken chunks were pretty big and could have been cut up a little more. Pasta is definitely not made in house, and you can really taste the difference. It wasn’t awful, it was just ok. I won’t be back, though.

All i can say that i would never come back to this place. Come at 6:30p with empty restaurant. We got to sit down right away. Server came first to take a drink. And thats it, he disappeared until i have to call out that i need to order for my table. He came back within like 15 mins later, apologize for not come to get our order because he thought we still waiting for our friends… i like really, does it bother you that much to stop around and check out my table once or twice after we sat down. I know we are waiting for our friend but still show some caring for your customers. The entire of time i wait and look around, noone actually approach me just to ask how i am doing or do i need anything. I should have know it is a red flag already. Anywah, we quickly order our food. The calamari fritti is alright. Not what i expect, but after the calamari came out. We continues wait for like 1 hour for the course meal to come. And i have to say again, entire of our time to wait for the food, the guy who serve us, never show up asking any questions see what we need. Gosh, i was so mad and lost my appetite already. Finally, my food came, i ordered a lobster ravioli. The lobsters mixture inside was ok. But oh my gosh, the ravioli was way over cooked. The texture was super hard for ravioli. The sauce was terrible. And smell gross too. I could not take anymore so i got the bill and get togo right away. The food and the service were the worst that i ever exerience. I was so nice to left with the tips but as soon as i walked out, all the workers there just look at us. They dont even bother to say thank you or have a good night at all… after all, i feel so upset and regret that waste my tips and $ 50 for my meal. What a waste!

I have been coming here for as long as I can remember! Yes, I am only 30 years old but it has always been a family tradition to celebrate my Grandmas Birthday at Renato’s! She grew up in Carunchio, Italy and didn’t come to America until her early 20’s, since being here I can guarantee you she has tried every Italian restaurant in Orange county and has been dissatisfied. Growing up Italian you appreciate a homemade taste and Renato’s is just that! A few of my favorite items are: Fettuccine and scallops! Linguini Pescatore! The pizza is to die for! Bruschetta is always a table hit! and any pasta with pink sauce is amazing! :)

I have been coming here for since 1997. The food is excellent and the waiters/waitresses are friendly. However, over the pass 19 years, I realized that the owner/management has not once personally greeted, say goodbye or say thank you to me even though we’ve made eye contact on numerous occasions. Aside from their wonderful food, I expect the management to treat their loyal customers to a higher standard of courtesy. Arrivederci!

Who knew you could get great Italian food in Saigon City /Westminster ?! I was thinking about going to the Cheesecake Factory for some pasta with my wife, when I found this place, glad I did! Everything is made fresh, is delicious and they have great customer service. Great business, would go here over the Cheesecake Factory any day. The food is delicious and the portions are extremely generous. This is a must try in Westminster . I could have been served this pasta at a fine dining establishment and I would have been surprised STILL how good it is… Pizza, high-quality, colorful, and SO good!!! Complimentary dessert too?! Tiramisu, cheesecake, and a chocolate chip cookie — all homemade and ALL amazing. Can’t wait to come back for more.

Maybe we should have ordered pizza… It’s not to say that Renato’s’ Spaghetti and Meatballs was bad, because it wasn’t. And the Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken, it wasn’t bad either. In fact, neither were the Stuffed Mushrooms. It’s just that they weren’t…well, they weren’t great. Better put, they were average. I’m not saying you shouldn’t try Renato’s. Go ahead, try. Many notable Unilocalers have, and their reviews, for the most part, have been reasonably favorable. Whether or not we stop by Renato’s again is up in the air, though. All reviews aside, I just wasn’t sold. I don’t know… Maybe we should have ordered pizza.

This place is a hidden gem in orange county, one of the best Italian restaurant around. It is authentic and good and inexpensive. If you come here for dinner, make sure you also order their pizza. Words cannot describe how good their pizza is, you just have too try it and find out for yourself.

Been here sporadically. Will attempt to visit more often as it never disappoints. The stuffed mushrooms, pizza and pasta dishes are solid. I have a tendency to order too much every time I come here, but I think that attests to how good everything is at Renato’s. One of my favorite things about this restaurant is that it is never packed. It could be because the location is sort of remotely hidden in the corner of a Vietnamese shopping plaza and is not Vietnamese. I have found that bringing your family here for a nice lunch or dinner is common amongst dinners here.

I came here for the first time ever yesterday. I came into the restaurant at 8:10 and saw that there was a counter with a menu taped down. We were immediately greeted and it took a while for us to order since they didn’t show chicken as an option for toppings on pizza. When the girl behind the counter asked if we had questions she let us know we could get chicken if we wanted. So my boyfriend and I ordered a 15″ pizza with half jalapeños & pepperoni and half jalapeño& chicken. We also ordered their buffalo wings. We then proceeded to sit down when we realized she didn’t ask us if we wanted anything to drink, so I went to the counter and asked for a coke and Sprite. I then noticed that on the receipt it said«take-out» so I told the girl behind the counter that we wanted to dine in. She asked the cook when our pie would be done and then proceeded to say in a bothered and knowingly way that our pizza would be ready in 15 minutes so that would be 8:30 and we couldn’t eat in… I was so embarrassed by the way she said it. On the door it said they closed at nine. When we arrived she never asked if we wanted to dine in or take out and since it was our first time here I didn’t know the protocol for ordering. I went to sit back with my boyfriend and the way she spoke to me really got to me that I started crying, I never have people talk to me that way. I’m always polite to everyone because I want to be treated nicely as well. I guess the cook heard what I wanted and made her let us dine in. But i was honestly still embarrassed that it ruined my appetite and I didn’t even enjoy the food. My boyfriend said the pizza was good but I can’t give an honest opinion. We still left a very small tip because although she literally just brought us our food and nothing else, someone would clean our table. I’m honestly so disappointed by my experience. I have 2 stars because of the cook and my bf liked the food. I don’t think I’ll be back, no one likes feeling belittled.

My boss insisted we go here for«THEBESTPIZZA» on our way to a field trip to Mile Square Park. Normally we don’t trust his taste…(for example, he likes to put salsa and sour cream on his nachos before the microwave, not after, and his dance of choice is «the Carlton»)… Anyway, he ordered a large olive pizza(again, a weird choice to have olives solo — «olives» usually follows«and», you know, like«pepperoni, sausage, and olives»), but it was soooooo good, and(with the exception of the ground pepperoni at Domenico’s in Long Beach) this was the best pizza I’ve had in years. I don’t know if it was because the olives were blanketed UNDER the cheese instead of on top, but it was a olive oily, cheesy, saucy, tasty pie, and I don’t even like olives that much. I guess they taste better«tucked in». «Good night, you princes of Maine…»

This review is strictly for the pizza: For as highly as this location is rated, it’s a terrible disappointment. The long story short, the quality of the ingredients is simply not worth the price of their pizza. The long story long: Upon receiving my pizza I immediately notice the sad, flat, pale disposition of the dough. Based on the images on Unilocal,I was a bit surprised. The images are gorgeous, with a nice rise on the dough, and a golden crust. This was not what I received. What I received was a thin, pasty, soggy, flavorless dough that is not a suitable substrate for a delicious pizza. The sauce. The pizza was lightly sauced, but the sauce tasted like it was straight from a can. Nothing fresh or interesting at all. The cheese: cheap, rubbery tasting. This cheese was plentiful, but a gummy mess. Toppings: The special was not special at all. Canned ‘shrooms, tasteless pepperoni, bell pepper and onion that brings nothing to the equation. The sausage was nice and fennelly, but this is little good in a sea of very bad. Two stars instead of one: the staff seemed nice, and the restaurant was clean. Simply put, avoid. It’s not worth it.

On the surface this place seemed okay. Until I saw a dead cockroach on the floor while dinning in. Then later I found a metal shard in my left overs. Won’t be going back.

Worst customer service ever. The entire restaurant was empty and they refused to seat us anywhere but near bathroom. The Asian girl and the white girl that are nothing but low class servers on a power trip. They actually REFUSED to let us sit at any other table. Flat out said«no.» The Asian Girl could barely speak English yet she works at an Italian restaurant. We are REGULARS here and always spend $ 200 on average. I am proud to say I have blacklisted this piece of garbage establishment. Never again.

I am surprised that I didnt write a review sooner to my favorite Italian restaurant. I’ve been here dozens of times and I am completely satisfied each and every time. Their pizzas are fresh and cripsy with amazing taste. The dining room is clean, with traditional décor and the service is extremely pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable. The pasta dishes are out of this world! Fresh pasta, and each and every meal surpases my expectations. I put this on par with the best Italian restaurants in Italy, New York, or Boston’s North End. I recommend it to any out of towners missing their authentic Italian restaurants. This place is hands down the best with no phony pretense. I can go on and on! The chicken marsala is heaven just to name one dish. Great find in the heart of Little Saigon!

Sadly the food was not good enough to receive anything more than one maybe two stars. I got the ravioli with meat sauce and it was meh. After a while it just started tasting bleh. The meat sauce wasn’t too great either. The fettuccine Alfredo felt like the sauce came from a bottle. It tasted like what we tried to make at home with already made sauce and pre made everything. The stuffed mushrooms were also really weird. Our waiter was really great though. He was a little hard to understand but he did try to joke with us and such. A for effort. He’s probably the best thing about this place and without him I would probably give this place a 1 star with a comment saying no stars.

Honestly, the meal I had here was very unmemorable. The linguine with calamari was probably the best dish of the night. I’d skip out on the salads. I also had tiramisu, but I thought it tasted very watery… I wouldn’t recommend it. Service was great though! If you’re craving Italian, go here instead of Olive Garden or any other«Italian» chain restaurants. However, I still think Mama D’s in Newport Beach is a lot better. I would go there, but it’s just so far away from where I live, so Renato’s is an acceptable second option.

The two things I really really enjoy here are the seafood linguine(which is fresh seafoody goodness) and the eggplant parmigiana sandwich. Last time on the way to SD, we stopped in n ordered the sandwich to eat at a table with no problem. This time on the way back from SD, the waiter had an issue with us ordering sandwiches to dine in when it is supposedly only available on the TOGO menu. So he went to ask the cook. Like, really? You can’t make that decision for yourself? The restaurant was practically empty! I said LOOK, we came from SB n chose this place for lunch because we have particular cravings. We could’ve picked one of my many other fave spots to fill the void ok… so make it work!!! Small glitch but we ended up having a good lunch.
