I went to Subapro three times and all was good in the beginning. Then on my second trip I had work done on my front passenger axel. The job was done beautifully and and a decent price. However on my way home my brakes went completely out, I had to use the e brake and drive extremely slow back to their shop. When I got their they had just closed but I couldn’t drive home with no brakes so they threw it up and checked for the problem. This is all good and the right thing to do, but when they discovered the brake line (on the front passenger side) had come loose and leaked all the brake fluid out the owner told me he would fix it for another $ 90. I said it was a coincidence that the brake line came loose on the side they had just worked on and I was yelled at and threatened that they wouldn’t work in the car at all if I blamed them for the brakes. I never blamed just stated that it was quite the coincidence and any decent shop would probably agree and fix the simple problem on principle alone. Anyway, horrible experience untill one of the mechanics Armondo volunteered his time for free to fix the brakes. He did it for safety reasons and because he is a true good spirited person and one hell of a mechanic! I will never go back to this shop but I will say it has good guys working there and decent prices. But I don’t feel the situation was initially handled correctly and competition is everywhere for auto shops. I have never reviewed a business on Unilocal before, but I feel like with all the great reviews here another poor review is warranted.
Took my 2009 Outback here initially when I first discovered it was nearly overheating during the winter months last year. My husband specifically asked if it was the head gasket that needed to be replaced as we read this was a common problem. They said it was leaking coolant, flushed my coolant for $ 45 and sent us on our way. Several weeks later the car started to overheat again and we brought it in again, was told it was the head gasket which was corroded internally and externally and that we should have come in sooner. They ended up replacing my head gasket, doing my 100,000 mile checkup and replacing my clutch for for around $ 3000 which they told us was big savings (and it may have been). They acknowledged no wrong doing, but did give us the $ 45 spent previously towards our bill. However, they neglected to flush or top off my clutch fluid and recently I was stranded on I-​70 in the mountains when my clutch stopped working just before the Eisenhower Tunnel. I can’t say for sure this was them, but I have not had my car worked on since, my clutch fluid is not leaking now, and has never required a fill up by me before.
Furthermore, I am writing this review because of their «we don’t need your business» attitude, and the repeated comments bashing you for taking your car to other mechanic shops. Being a car owner is a constant learning experience for most people and repair shops should try to teach how to care for a car rather than blaming customers for not bringing their car in sooner. I spoke to someone today over the phone about some additional work I needed on my car and was given a series of rude responses again. For me this is the last straw and I will not be bringing my car here again or recommending them. I believe there are good Subaru shops who also have a sense of customer service that deserve my money more.

I’ve been taking my car to Subapros for about two years now. These guys are great! Their customer service is unbeatable. Their timing belt service at 105,000 miles included replacing the Water Pump, where other shops were quoting me an additional $ 500 for that part to be replaced. I recently took my car in for an oil change and to get the Check Engine Light looked at. Don and his crew spent hours working on fixing the error. They were honest the entire time with what they were finding and what they weren’t finding. In the end, the new part did not fix the CEL Code, and to my surprise Don only charged me for an oil change! If you have a Subaru and are looking for an honest mechanic that does great work at a better price, this is your place!

Long review, but it covers just how bad this place is:

Wish I could give zero stars! HORRIBLE service and a TERRIBLE repair job. It took months to «fix» my WRX, that only had minimal body damage. First, I received a call saying «my chariot awaits, however we painted it the wrong color, but you can’t really tell unless you’re outside in the sun»! Uh… I drive my car outside in the sun! After I said I wanted it painted the same color as the rest of the car, they got the correct color, but didn’t repaint inside the door, over the wheels, and when I went to pick up my car, after they said they fixed the paint, they had forgotten to have the windshield replaced and all the body work they did, was out of alignment. I left my car in hopes it would be properly fixed, the next time I went to pick it up. However, they didn’t notice I had a bent strut, I told them it was still out of alignment, after test driving it, but they insisted it was correct. I then took it to another shop and the mechanic noticed right away that there was a bent strut. I had to pay to have it repaired and re-​aligned. Subapros also said they didn’t notice the scratches THEY put on the roof of my car, when popping out the back glass to replace the quarter panel. I refused to take my vehicle, this time until they properly fixed all the issues. The owner first denied the fact that they put the four, one inch long scratches on my roof, but the body guy, Scott, owned up to it. The owner also tried to blame the crappy job on Scott, being ill. Well, when I went to pick up my vehicle, I noticed that they painted over the powder-​coated trim of my aftermarket moon roof, WHICH THEY ALSO BROKE TRYING TO PRY IT OUT, and the rear quarter panel still did not line up correctly, and the owner told me, that’s as good as it’s going to get, because they did extra work painting my roof, and I got betterment out of it, because they had to remove the very minimal hail dents to paint the roof. It wouldn’t have had to be painted, if THEY didn’t scratch it all the way down to the metal. On top of all of this, when I called to speak with the owner, he was very very rude and hung up on me. I then hired an attorney to deal with this situation, and the owner hung up on him, too! To top it off, EVERY PART THEY PAINTED, IS PEELING AND RUSTING! It started peeling after only ONE MONTH! This place is absolutely atrocious to work with. I’m still fighting to get this rectified, but I have to sue them for the cost of the repairs so I can take my vehicle elsewhere to be properly fixed. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS SHOP. IF YOU DO, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

The only pro to this place is that they will take the time to show and explain to you what is wrong with your vehicle.
I brought my 2001 forester to check out the front breaks and bearings. I was called shortly after dropping my vehicle off to come look at it. Several times on the phone the employee snickered at me while asking where the vehicle was from because of the rust that had accumulated on it. When i came in to look, i was shown the rust on the front axel/​wheels, and that my car needed new breaks. They showed me the ball joint and said it was starting to give and that was also a safety issue. I asked them how much to replace the axel etc and instead of getting a quote i was laughed at and told to «crush my car.» At this point i had to walk out of the shop because they were so incredibly rude to me. Im so sorry i didn’t bring you a new wrx to masturbate over. They finally agreed to do my breaks and made damn sure to tell me what a hassle it was when i picked it up the following morning. I was unhappy with the price but more than happy to leave a shop where everyone is a total dick.
I took my car to another mechanic. Sure the vehicle is rusty but they immediately told me it was not trash and quoted me $ 600 to fix everything Subapros wouldnt even bother to quote me on. I would also like to note $ 600 is less than double what my front breaks cost at Subapros and no one made me feel like a joke.
Dont go here unless you have some fancy little subaru for them to play around with. They obviously do not want to do any actual repair work.

These guys here fixed my washer fluid reservoir on my 2003 Outback for no charge. Good service and good people. I’ll continue to come here.

Love these guys! I have a old girl (2004) who requires some extra love every now and again. I wouldn’t take her anywhere else! Service is always great, always fast, and I haven’t had any repeat issues. I send all my suby-​friends here :)

Got our first oil change here. Very quick, very courteous, and gave us excellent knowledge and advice on taking proper care of our new Subaru.
Would definitely recommend them over the dealership for anything they can handle.

We had our 2006 Forester in for the 100,000 mile overhaul nearly 2 years ago for around $ 2,500; it has been running like a new car. I wanted to wait long enough to write a review to know if the job was well done and it has run beautifully.
A couple of months ago right after an oil change at a Big 0, there was a huge puddle of oil on the garage floor. Since we weren’t sure what the damage was we headed back to Subapro for a checkup. Yeah, he had to change it again and advised we not take it back to Big O or Grease Monkey if we love our Subie.
We’ve had our Subie in three times now and the work is fantastic. wouldn’t go anywhere else. Going to buy a new Subie this year, nwon’t take it anywhere else.
BTW my dad was a mechanic and yeah, I’m picky.

I have been here twice with our subaru outback.
The first time we brought it in after buying the car used to get a few things done. On this visit, we had them fix the sealing on the driver’s side door to make it more soundproof on the highway. After we paid nearly $ 400 to get that fixed, we still were having noises. Only then did they notice that the door on the driver’s side did not close flush with the body and that it was as good as it was going to get unless I wanted to spend thousands to re-​do the entire door. If they had noticed that at first, we would not have tried to fix it.
Second visit, oil change. Simple enough. I had a 1:30 appointment. Around 2:45 I decided to go see what was taking so long. I don’t know much about cars, but I do know that an oil change is not rocket science. They had FORGOTTEN ABOUT ME! It had been done in probably 15 minutes. I have things to do with my day that don’t involve sitting in a very sketchy and outdated waiting room. Not only that, but it was over $ 45 for an oil change which I think is on the pricey side.
I am NEVER going back there and advise you to not waste your time and money.

Great guys that work here. Stand behind their work and make sure that you’re a happy customer. Super honest, upfront fair quotes.
Had some issues with my Subaru’s check engine light and o2 sensors passing emissions inspection, and they went the extra mile, figured out what was wrong and got it taken care of.
Can’t recommend highly enough if you have a subaru!

Came here 30 minutes ago to get an oil change for my 08 STI was in and out in 20 minutes great quick service! And friendly staff. The only reason I’m giving four stars is because the waiting area is a little outdated to say the least and the décor was not the best. Will definitely come back.

These guys do a great job! They are friendly, and also honest (a rare quality in an auto shop these days). I used to go to Mike Shaw, where I bought my car, but then I caught them charging me for multiple jobs they didn’t even do (and yes, I have proof). I highly recommend Subapros!!!

Had driven my 2006 Subaru Outback from CA to Denver and needed some minor repairs. They were GREAT! Called them and they quickly made the appointment. Took the car in and the repairs were made very promptly and reasonably. And – they are just super nice guys!

I would’ve given them five stars but they forgot to replace the refrigerant in my AC system. In fairness to them I never got back to complain about it and only figured it out months later. I took my car in last winter to have the heads Redone, and all the pulleys and stuff replaced. In total it was about $ 3000 worth of work which was at least $ 1000 less than the dealership was quoting for the same work. If I have something big to do again I’ll probably go back to them.

So happy to find a good Subaru specialist in Denver

Great place! I have passed this place a billion times, and finally was able to call them. The dealer quoted me twice what they charged me for a simple job. I really like them — no fuss, no muss. The dealer never shows me what is wrong with the car, nor explains with visuals what is the issue. This place does, and they do the repairs very quickly, either while you wait or with a cheap one-​day rental (if you need one). I am so lucky to have found them! Knowledgeable in Subarus and only repair what is needed… give them a try and knock off paying $$$ to the dealership.

These guys are awesome! They are very knowledgeable with Subarus and they give great, honest service. I brought my 2005 Legacy GT to them after my turbo blew and they gave me the best options to maintain my vehicle. The dealer was trying to make me change out a bunch of parts after the turbo blew, but SubaPros told me I only had to change out my banjo bolts and the Legacy should be fine. Pretty awesome because they charged me $ 140 for the banjo bolts when the stealership quoted me $ 900 for the same work. These guys rock!

We are very fortunate to live so near SubaPros but even if we didn’t it would be well worth the drive. Don and his crew are very experience, they provide quick accurate diagnosis and they are affordable. I would recommend SubaPros to anyone without hesitation!

Consistently excellent. I’ve been using these folks for years and they are the straightest shooting mechanics I have every worked with. The sell me what I need, charge reasonable prices for it and don’t sell me a lot of crap I don’t. Definitely worth the effort if you drive a Subaru.
