Office Depot

This place is just terrible. I don’t know why I keep returning. Each time I go in it seems like the people who work there are shocked to actually see a customer. Then they act like you are bothering them if you ask a question.
I have spent so much money there and my last visit I wanted to turn some items in for electronic recycling. They wanted to charge me for the service! I bought my new printer there and they wouldn’t take my old one or anything else.
If you are a gluten for punishment like I am you should shop here.

I feel that since Office Depot specializes in office supplies the price of the goods they sell should be less then other big box retailers. The prices seem to be higher then Target or Walmart for simple things. There’s also never anyone around at most locations, not the associates fault that the company understaffs but when there are people around there always friendly and helpful. If the prices were lower this place would get four stars.

I’ve always had good enough experiences but this week i had a great experience. I bought some card readers for my business and they were short a few. The employee checked other stores and I overheard him saying how that location was on his way home and he would stop by that night and pick them up personally. The readers were in Wheaton the next morning.

From August 2013: had a fantastic experience at this Office Depot. I came into the store to print out address labels for a huge block of invitations. The process was fast, simple, and inexpensive. The Manager (Joe) walked me through the entire process, helped me re-​format my data, and inspected the final print-​outs to verify the content/​accuracy. Moreover, this location has free wi-​fi in the business center that you can use while you wait! Thanks Joe and Office Depot. You have a customer for life!
From March 2014: once again, I had a fantastic experience with their printing dept. The associate Pete was helpful, polite, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend working with this store for all of your printing needs. A+ service!

This Office Depot is smaller than other Office Depots in the area, but surprisingly, I’ve found more things I needed her than at some of the bigger stores. The people are friendly and i’ve never had a problem with it.

Normally I wouldn’t review a large chain store such as Office Depot, but since Unilocal keeps suggesting that I do since I have a few check-​ins here I figured I’d give my basic assessment of this Office Depot. In case you’re somehow unfamiliar with Office Depot they’re an office supply store that sells a wide variety of products, from pens, paper, ink cartridges, computers, printers, you name it.
Let me break down the pluses and negatives of this Office Depot
Pluses:
This office depot is conveniently located near my house.
They have a lot of product on the shelves.
Minuses:
More expensive than most places unless you’re buying sale items.
While they have a lot of different products, they almost never seem to have exactly what I’m looking for, but something close is always available.
Overall I wouldn’t say it’s that bad of a place to shop. It’s quick and convenient for me if I need pens, paper, or other office goods in as quick of a trip as possible. However, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you happen to be in the area and need something that they generally carry.

This place is useless. Overpriced, lacking in stock, and I am more capable of using their website to find product information than they are. I needed a cartridge for my fax machine, brought the old one in, gave them the name of the fax machine, looked up the fax machine for them when they couldn’t figure out how to find it on the website, and left when they told me they didn’t have it. My IT guy called them up and they figured it out. They had 4 in stock… I had to go back. It was a real waste of time.

This Office Depot is excellent. I own a local business and have been here several times to purchase supplies. The manager here does a great job with training his/​her employee’s as they are all very helpful and know their store.
Office Depot sends us alot of coupons out and we use them here. One time I came in with an expired coupon whihc often can be a problem. However, the cashier went out of her way to make sure they honored it.
They frequently have discounts on their paper products and the Office Depot brand we find to be equal to the «name brands». But, they are 20% to 30% less costly.
Certainly a well run store.

Every time I go there, they don’t have what I want. Red pencils, a specific type of eraser and I can’t remember the time before that. Get with the program people!
This is located next to a Walgreens and for some reason the parking lot is a nightmare. You can find a spot, but it might take some time because of all the cars driving around.
Another beef I have with this store is that they have shopping carts, but it’s hard to maneuver around the store with them! If you give us the carts, make sure we can use them. There are so many displays set up all over the place, you just can’t get around.
The checkout process is kind of a nightmare too. The have one counter which is parallel to the entrance, so there’s really no place to line up and people just stand around everywhere. The other checkouts are perpendicular, so there is a place to line up, but usually those registers aren’t open anyway.
So basically don’t go here unless you have to. Unfortunately I have to go here for some unique school supplies and they do have good prices on printer cartridges. I gave them 2 stars instead of one since their customer reward program is pretty good and they will donate 5% of your sale to your school of choice.
