Starbucks is just not a pleasant enough atmosphere for me. I was hunting for a place like this to study at from time to time. I definitely found my new study spot. This cute little coffee shop is quiet, clean and super cozy. Complete with a good coffee and comfortable chairs, Their coffee is very good, I have had several of their specialty drinks as well as just a hot cup of coffee. Their baked goods are delicious as well, I had a lovely frosted panetone today. As far as WiFi goes, I have never had any problems with it and there are always plenty of outlets available.

It’s ok in a pinch. Espresso is better then going to Am/Pm or similar. But it’s not as good as Stbx. I asked them what beans they use that she had to think before she could come up with the answer«café Amore» Not a real barista experience /no attention to the true coffee fan. They do have Monin syrups and tons of them. But for high quality espresso drinks keep driving. This isn’t it. For simple quick coffee on the run give it a try

Great Starbucks alternative. — Coffee cake was large and very reasonably priced. — They serve flavored coffee, which I’m not sure should be served in any coffee shop but I suppose that is a matter of opinion. — The outdoor patio seating is street side so if your into the city feel of your local coffee shop this is the place to be. I hate sitting on Starbucks patios which face the sea of parked cars, at least here you can watch the activity of the street. — The shade from the old eucalyptus trees makes this a perfect afternoon stop. — Parking is around the back and a little out of the way. Over all a great place. If they start serving a wider range of brewed coffees this would be a 5 star for sure.

After Dr. Java’s failure across the street in the Whittwood Town Center; they retreated(in the«there’s always money in the banana stand» mentality) to their first location: inside the pharmacy of the PIH building.(which was once the Bright Medical building) Get coffee here, get coffee at Starbucks… the menu doesn’t vary much. It’s hard to mess up a cup of coffee, it’s a safe business venture if you ask me. Which there is nothing wrong with… just remember: There’s Always Money in the Banana Stand…

I think this place is closed. I was looking for a place in Whittier and called the coffee shop just to make sure it was the right place, and the phone is disconnected.

I am soOoooo over Starbuck’s INFLATEDPRICE$…but I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE coffee and I needed to get my morning fix so I did what any Unilocaler would do… logged in… did my research and found this place… it just so happens that it’s on my drive to work which is a plus… So — I decided to take Kimiko S.‘s recommendation and ohhhh how thankful I am that I did… I know, the Oatmeal cookie latte sounds totally disgusting, right? It was actually really good… it tasted like a freshly baked oatmeal cookie with the aroma of gourmet coffee… who would of thought! mmm! i love the smell of coffee… that’s the A.D.D kickin’ in… LMAO! Thanks Kimiko S =)

UPDATE: They’ve been CLOSED for a few years now. Perfect place to meet someone for coffee. You can always find a seat to kick back in or a table to put your laptop on. Quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Can’t find a fireplace anywhere else!

Great place to come in from out of the heat and sip some cool iced coffee drinks. They have plenty of couches and tables to sit at. In addition, the couch area has a coffee table with either a checkers or a chess game set and ready to play. The interior is very inviting and relaxing. Every Friday and Saturday night they have free outdoor entertainment on the patio adjacent to their coffee shop. It’s a great place to sit on a temperate summer evening. The drinks are good but typical of many coffeehouses in the area. And the prices are cometitve of the local Starbucks and Panera Bread shops in the area. One thing that might be of interest, is for the non-coffee drinkers. They have kid friendly drinks and they offer up fruit smoothies that are full of flavor. I think for me, this place is all about it’s atmosphere. The staff is very friendly too. This place has my vote for a great coffee place to try and come back to in the future.
