My friends and I are the five guys. We entered this place, and saw a cashier named Wendy. She had red braids and freckles. Her boyfriend was a poor redhead named Ronald. Overall pretty good service. B+ from Isiah Thomas, but Michael Jordan always gets the A in math class. 95 –96 Bulls

They are like a lower tier hybrid of a 5-guys and elevation burger. Their special sauce is like a big mac sauce and it doesn’t taste anything unique. Could have friendlier staff members

We came here based in a recommendation. I was not overly thrilled. I ordered a regular burger and fries. The fries were good but the burger was dry and I had mayo, noiyah dauce, ketchup, and mustard on it and it was still dry. Prices were high compared to what you got.

Location was a little tricky but it’s more accessible from the street BEHIND the pita pit. The restaurant itself if cute– it also accepts w&m dinning dollars and express which means you will see students here at any given time. I got a Mooyah burger without cheese, pickles and caramelized onions, french fries and a drink combo all for around $ 10(included tip). I waited for 15 minutes or more for a burger without cheese, lettuce and tomato… and WITH pickles and caramelized onions. After scraping off the unrequested crap I will admit that the burger was downright delicious. A huge bun for a huge burger eliminated by this here huge girl~ A reasonable tradeoff? Um no. The burger should have been done right given the wait time and how were my fries you wondered? Not worth it. I wanted crispy, I craved crunch and I was given weak potatoes lacking the strength to confidently hold up ketchup. Unsatisfied is not the even the word. 3 stars for that delicious but messed up burger. A star gone because of the slow service and the mess up– No way was I going to wait another 15 minutes for them to fix it while watching my friend consume her naked burger. It’s not the workers fault at all either– there were just a lot of customers/orders but only 3 people were working on them all! Another star lost because of those fries. Fries should be the thing that is most perfect because it’s the preamble to the burger. They should at least be able to fry up a good set. I will definitely return and hope for the fries that steal the show as well as a burger that meets all my expectations.

Nope, I don’t get it. The location is convenient for the students, but the burgers are just not good quality. And while I was really looking forward to the sweet potato fries, they have always been burnt. I think the worst part for me is that this place is just dirty. There were flies EVERYWHERE and I did not want to go anywhere near the drink dispenser — doubt it’s ever been cleaned. I’ll take a Five Guys burger over this place any day. The only reason they’re getting two stars is because they have shakes — which I don’t drink, but I tried a friend’s and it was good and it’s nice to have that option.

This Mooyah is a burger joint adjacent to a college campus. The clientele should be easy to please. As a result, a lot of places might relax their standards a bit, but I don’t think Mooyah does that at all. It’s my kind of place. Mooyah is clean, the burgers are good, and the price is right. The place is tucked back off the main drag in a building with three other restaurants. I’ve never been to the others because Mooyah is what I crave when I come down here. The restaurant is decorated in a simple manner: tile floors, barstools and wooden chairs, tables and high tops. I’m not complaining. It’s not supposed to be a fancy joint. It’s pleasant enough. Mooyah’s burgers are very good. The bun is tall but light, almost fluffy, and served warm. The patties themselves are on the thin side(my one criticism), but juicy and quite tasty. It’s a good burger. I go light on the toppings when I’m here because I think the delicious burger would quickly get lost in the ketchup, mustard, lettuce, onion, tomato, pickles, and mayo that most burger places serve by default. Mooyah’s standard french fries and their sweet potato fries are both really good, and my kiddo enjoyed her milkshake. I had a sip and it was quite good. The service is fine. You order and pick up at the counter. There is nothing outstanding about the friendliness of the staff, and I have nothing bad to say either. The lovely Kayt and I usually walk out of there for under $ 20.

Mooyahburger is one of the best burger joints in Williamsburg, which is weird, because it’s a chain. They have the best shakes and fries in town, too. The ONLY reason this isn’t a 5 star review, is because my husband and I have been by 2 separate times in the past few weeks, once at like 4:30, the other around 6:45, and they were closed, with two employees sitting on the inside! They don’t answer their phone, and they haven’t changed their hours on their website, Unilocal,or front door! What the heck, Mooyah?!

Why are you closed when your hours say open?!? Mooyah fail. I drove here for no mooyah. Other customers also noticed closing early.

Fresh made Sweet Potato Fries. Almost no need to say anything more. Oh: the burger, bun and toppings actually are consistently fresh and taste great.

One of the best burgers I have had. And at the same time I wouldn’t pay a third of the price, in a twice convienent location, for quadruple the amount of food. I arrived with my party of 10 at 7:10p on a Mon and to our surprise they appeared to be closed. Unilocal and Google stated that their hours were open until 9p. The doors were indeed locked yet I could see that there were two patrons still eating inside. I knocked to ensure there wasn’t some mistake. After a few moments, the patrons came to the door and stated that the staff had closed the store while they were eating. Curious why there hours weren’t accurate online I asked the manager why they were closed. She stated«We close early when business is slow.» I have not heard before that ‘business is slow’ while customers were still eating within a restuarant. I asked if there was a timeframe for that closure. She stated«7−8p» I asked if we could still eat and her response was«Yeah you can but we will have to turn things back on and it will take some time for things to get warmed up.» I let her know I was ok with waiting a little as we were hungry and it would be more cumbersome to locate and eat somewhere else. I let her know it was up to her if we ate there since things were already shut down. I further ler know that we would just leave a review accurate to our experience as being unpleasant given the inaccurate business hours. She said«I would encourage you to do that so that the owner knows because she wont listen to us. If you leave a bad review, then she would listen better.» I was surprised at that response. I was encouraged to leave a bad review so that her owner would listen to the concerns that were being conveyed through her staff. I stated I was uninterested in leaving a bad review and would rather prefer to eat since we were hungry and we had high hopes of our visit. She welcomed our business and offered to take our orders. The orders were taken and the first order was placed at 7:18p. 4 separate orders were placed. My order was placed at 7:24 and at approx. 7:48 our order was ready. The manager stated that the fryies were not ready since it took 30 minutes to heat up. I asked how much longer would they be and she stated 15 – 20 more mintues. I returned to the table to discover that my order was missing the chicken fingers. I returned to the manager who was running the hot plate and related to her the missing item. She said that it was fried so it too was waiting on the fryer to heat up. She further explained«I let you come in and order. If you wanted your food to come out at the same time, you shouldn’t have placed your order after we had closed. It’s not my fault that your food isn’t ready at the same time.» Without any reply,(due mostly to shock) I returned to my table. After a few bites, I decided I no longer desired to purchase anything from their establishment and asked if I could get a refund for the food i had not eaten and I would be glad to only pay for the food I had eaten. She said that she was going to call her owner for permission to refund those items because I was«being rude after she let me come in and order food after they were closed.» Frustrated at how this simple night out had so terribly esclated, I informed her that if she didn’t return the money for items paid for but not provided I would have to invlove the local law enforcement. At this point she was dialing assumedly the owner. Exhausted by it all, I decided that the cost of the french fries and the chicken fingers were not worth the tremendously poor experience. i resolved to forego my pursuit for refund and just leave. After having gathered my belongings I could overhear the manger who was standing at the register, barking on the phone a mirriad of frustrations and insults regarding myself. «This rude customer demanded a refund…» «I told him he would have to wait and he threatened to call the cops…» Shocked even still, I decided to video record the conversation she was having. I did. After she noticed my documentation, she hurridley exited the food line and register area to a side room. When she noticed that I was yet still recording she hide behind the corner of that room and lowered her voice. All in all, the time I spent there, driving there, the loss of the opportunity to celebrate a loved one’s birthday while eating at a good burger joint(one of her favorite things to eat) was far more tragic than there exceptionally poor business conduct. Of what food I ate, it was quite tasty. More than likely due to a good frachise model… not a good franchisee owner. Isn’t it intersting that this particular Mooyah’s name on Unilocal has the abnormal presence of ‘Franchise’? The whole experience; how dissapointing. Especially when the opportunity of extraordinary service lie easily within their grasps.

This was a complete surprise. The beef is thin and lean. It is Angus, so no grease. There are a lot of topping choices and the fresh cut fries were so good. I would’ve given it a perfect five, however, the beverages were just okay from the soda machine and no full ketchup bottles on the tables. The shakes are amazing. They were worth the wait. This will be a stop on our next visit.

Great burger. Very good and I liked the fries. Not great kid sized Chicken Tender portions. They gave her two tenders. Kinda wimpy imo. Also the kid grilled cheese is nasty american cheese, the kind that is one molecule away from plastic. My kid only ate half. Kids meals are $ 4.99 comes with fries(or applesauce) and a drink. Adult burger is 4.99 and goes up from there. Also it was little dirty in there. Usually I don’t mind but since the girl at the front seemed in a bad mood I felt like I was more critical of the place. Admittedly if you are trying to find reasonably priced food in within walking distance of Colonial Williamsburg Merchant Shops area(about 6 min) then this is one of the few places that do.

Unilocal helped me find this place(thank you!!). I was looking for good food at a reasonable price and we found it! The burgers are FANTASTIC and the fries are yummy as well. We liked it so much we returned a second time. I live in Manayunk,(Phila), PA where I have a large choice of great restaurants, and Mooyah did not disappoint. My father wanted to return a 3rd time! Owner(and his father?) are very nice and personable. And the students at William & Mary seem to flock to this place… Try it out!!!

A short and sweet review: Cleanliness: 3⁄5: for their bathrooms. Ladders and mats were also about the place. The floors could use a mopping. Service: 4⁄5: Took me 10 minutes to finally place because it seemed to take forever to place an order. They were also dealing with a broken grill issue and concerned and nervous, so I understood their slight lack of service. Later they came to apologize for being distracted while I had ordered, and gave us a free drink. So that was cool. Food: 4⁄5: very tasty, but I paid 99 cents and only got a small teaspoon of avocado. :/ Overall, I’d be back. Maybe I just came on a bad day for them.

Another Unilocal assisted find. And thankful for it. Needed a late evening meal. Was not even that hungry but the kids needed sustenance. Place is a gem. I agree with a previous reviewer that you should think of Five Guys. But WAY better. Super juicy burger. Choice of white or wheat buns. White was sold out wheat was awesome either way. Fries were sold out too. Sweet potato fries. We are informed that since everything is fresh everyday they run out of items at the end of the day. Eat a better burger. Eat at Mooyah’s.

This place was fun. A MTO Burger/Shake place that you can tell is a hit with the college kids. The décor is adorable. Lots of cows. And vintage milk crates and cartons. The burger was great because they lettuce wrapped it. Service was a little slow but we were pleased. Make sure you use GPS to get there, it’s a little hidden!

Another Long Overdue review… I visited this location last year to experience my 1st «Mooyah’s», I was not Disappointed. Awesome, Awesome new Burger Joint. Fantastic Shakes !! Mooyah opened its first branch in Plano, Texas. As of July 18, 2012, Mooyah operates 37 locations throughout the United States and expects 200 restaurants to be open by 2014. Mooyah keeps it simple, with just a few items on the menu: Burgers, Fries, and Shakes. All-Fresh, Never-Frozen Beef, Turkey, and Veggie Burgers. Hand-Cut French Fries and Sweet Potato Fries. 100% Ice-Cream Shakes. Mooyah’s menu also includes Little MOO Meals, which offer Hot Dogs, Chicken Strips, and Grilled Cheese. You can choose from toppings such as bacon, grilled onions, or sautéed mushrooms. There’s also a choice of sauces, including mayo, ketchup, and, of course, «special.» Also I found it cool that you can get them wrapped in lettuce to cut out the Bread intake.(Although the Bread is baked at the restaurant, so it is worth a try now & then) This location was right next to The College of William & Mary, founded in 1693. It is the 2nd oldest college in the United States, Harvard being the 1st. Three presidents, including Thomas Jefferson, were educated here along with 15 other signers of the Declaration of Independence.(Thanks to Ali for that Info !) Quite a Historic Neighborhood ! I will definitely be looking forward to a Mooyah’s opening up in my home state of Washington !! Hurry, Hurry !!
