I was a little hesitant walking in and seeing the décor and ambiance, but the reviews were overwhelmingly positive so we decided to give it a go… and glad we did. Being a regular sushi eater from a city where I’ve had the opportunity to try all sorts of sushi restaurants I was happy to find my usual favorites. The Chirasi dinner was smaller than usual, but the price was right and I found I was satisfied and actually preferred this sized portion. We also tried the Spider Roll(incredibly tasty) and was stoked to find a lesser priced smaller portion available. The price was exactly right for a seasoned sushi diner who knows how to order and the sushi was fresh and tasty. We will absolutely be back when back in Vermont.

Love this place! Sushi is always great, they are very consistent. Also l their other foot is great as well. Try any of the curries and you will be very happy!

Sushido is a little hole in the wall establishment in Taft’s Corners that I had never noticed until my son started college. This little Japanese restaurant offers takeout, eat-in meals, and even has a small section of grocery items. If you’ve never noticed it, you’re missing a real gem. My son is actually the person who introduced me to Sushido. He and his college buddies started going there for sushi, a fast meal for in between classes, and soon they were hooked. Even today on my umpteenth visit, the crowd was a mix of VTC students, moms, business professionals, and retirees. It always feels warm and welcoming, even when it’s packed like today. I’ve tried a lot of the items on the menu and even tilapia, something I usually hate, is really good here. I only ordered it because I failed to look to see what the Bento box included one day. Today, I had the seaweed udon — in one word YUM — and then shared tempura with my son. The tempura is always light and not greasy at all, this is now my favorite of the udon bowls. My son always orders the curry bowl and spicy tuna roll, which I admit he had me try and for someone who won’t usually touch raw fish, spicy tuna is delightful. We were huge fans of Sakura on Church Street and wish we’d found Sushido sooner. We could have saved ourselves the trip to Downtown Burlington. Sushido is my favorite place to grab a quick lunch or dinner. Even in a crowd, like today, we had our food within 10 minutes.

Best sushi and bento boxes in the area — chicken teriyaki is amazing. Gets packed at lunch so call ahead!

First of all, the sushi here is my hands down favorite sushi in all of the greater Burlington area! This is the only sushi shop around that has Japanese owners who also serve as chefs. The same folks owned Sakura on Church St, which closed down awhile ago. I was so sad when that happened, but so happy I found this place. The environment and ambiance of Sushido is very unique. It’s a mix between an Asian convenience store and restaurant. It has more tables than regular Asian convience stores, but also less items. I love how they sell many Japanese essentials such as curry, nori, and more! The setting is so casual and relaxed, I absolutely love it. The reason this place isn’t five stars is that there aren’t many people. I know many get takeout and don’t eat in store, but it was just too quiet for me. I love a lot of noise when I’m eating. Maybe this place is just too underrated. Let’s talk about the amazing service. You order at the counter and pay there. You also serve yourself water. Someone will bring you your food once it’s ready. Now for the most amazing part of Sushido. *Drum roll.* The SPEED is lightening fast! I usually have to wait at least 20 minutes when I order sushi at a restaurant, but due to the low number of customers and the efficiency of the chef, you can get every order within a few minutes! Of course the quality isn’t always the most top-notch or refined, but very good for the speed. Last but not least, what’re my thoughts on the food? My absolute favorite is the spider rolls. It was love at first sight and an ongoing love affair for many years. It’s a must try! I haven’t had spider rolls like these anywhere I’ve been to. I was a little disappointed with the pork cutlet curry when I ordered it because it wasn’t as tender as I liked, but still very filling. The prices are amazing and it’s my go to place when I’m craving sushi. Whether you want to sit down or get takeout, go to Sushido for the best and most authentic sushi in Chittenden County! Great for quick and not expensive meals. Amazing for broke people and college students. It’s very close to Magestic10 so also perfect for a casual date night or hangout.

A great mom & pop sushi place in Williston. I have only ever gotten takeout so I can’t comment on the ambiance, but there are plenty of Japanese dry goods and candies to look at on your way in. It’s never too busy which is great for takeout; I usually only have to wait 5 – 10 minutes. They have a great selection of rolls and bento lunch boxes which change weekly. This week was 4pc California roll, miso soup and salad for 7.99 which is a great deal! Only thing I wish is that they had more vegetarian roll options!

I have only been here once on the recommendation of a friend whose opinion I trust very much. I liked Sushido right away because of the ambience(or lack thereof). You walk in and it’s a brightly lit takeout/convenience-store type vibe. There is a TV playing Japanese commercials and programs in the corner. There are packaged Japanese fast-food type snacks in a rack as you walk in to the right. Initially, I wasn’t sure I was in the right place. It could have been any kind of fast food joint. I like the fact that it’s not trying to be fancy. My cousin and I ordered an assortment of rolls and sushi. All came out quickly and all were very good. The prices were reasonable. We served our own water and grabbed or own napkins and chopsticks. The guy behind the cash register was friendly and helpful. He asked us if we were there for takeout, so I assume this place does a lot of it. This is my new favorite sushi place. I will go back again. You don’t expect a lot when you walk in, but I hope you’ll be pleasantly surprised like I was.

Great sushi place, staff is friendly and food is always great. The curry is my favorite, so the options are good even if you don’t want sushi.

How is it possible that I haven’t written a review for Sushido yet?! I’ve been coming to Sushido for years(back when it was Sakurabana– the legacy which you can actually still see hanging outside their shop window). Look past this signage inconsistency to what Sushido(meaning the path or way of sushi and pronounced Sushi-dou) really is. A great little no-frills mom and pop style restaurant. Key things to keep in mind: order at the counter and while the food will be brought out to you you will need to bus your own tables. This place is also very kid & family friendly so the atmosphere is extremely casual. When you walk in there is a small grocery area on the right(my recommendations are to try the ‘kinokonoyama’ chocolate biscuits shaped like mushrooms and for the more adventurous, try the saki-ika(dried squid jerky). For drinks, grab a classic Ramune or the Melon Soda. Sushi recommendations: Ichigo Roll, Spider Roll, great spider roll, double punch roll. I know when I first started coming here, and on a college student budget, I felt the portion sizes were small for the price — but I realize now, for the quality of the food the pricing and sizes are actually on point. From the kitchen, I would recommend the pork curry — the only place in the Burlington area that you can get an authentic Japanese curry. The tempura udon and yakisoba is excellent as well. Consistent, simple, and authentic Japanese cuisine. Love it.

If you want some inexpensive sushi then this is definitely a place to go. It’s very casual and it’s not like other sushi places where you wait for a waiter etc. You walk in and take a menu to figure out what you want and just order it. It’s kind of like Chinese take out but you can sit in their little area they have. What i’m trying to say is that it’s not fancy, but the prices of these sushi are very affordable and good! My boyfriend and I ordered shrimp tempura, and some other sushi that I am sorry but I forgot the names. However, the shrimp tempura was only around 4 bucks!!! Very cheap! I will be honest though that the rolls were a little bit smaller than other restaurants. I guess for the price you are paying I didn’t really mind it. They have a table set up where you get your own silverware if you want to sit down and eat there. The guy that took our order came out with our food within 15 minutes. It was quick service and definitely really good. I usually have a very weak stomach so I was kind of nervous about this place, but nope I didn’t even get sick from it! If I do crave for sushi and I am around this area I would definitely come back because it’s so much cheaper than the other sushi places that I’ve been to! I definitely recommend this place for those who crave for some cheap/good sushi and are around the area!

This place is decently priced for the amount of food you get. My girlfriend and I got 2 shrimp tempura rolls, miso soup, BSS roll and a spider roll for about $ 28. The quality was good, but the only thing I had a problem with was that most of our sushi did not come with spicy mayo or eel sauce on it. We were charged $ 1.10 for a side of sauce. Other than that it was pretty good.

By far my favorite Sushi place in Vermont! I have trouble eating sushi any other place now that I have gone there! Great place to grab take out. Well priced and delicious! A sushi roll will on average only cost around 4 dollars!

For the amount I paid I was a little surprised at how little I got. What I ate was delicious, for sure. But, each time I’ve gone, the food was cold or cooling too much when I got it. The staff are not very helpful.

This is a very casual dining experience. There are no goldfish swimming in the floor or hibachi tables. The food is always very good and fresh. I have been eating here for over 8 years and have always had good food. It is fair to say the portions are small — as in you will finish your dinner with out over eating. I would ad that the prices are also small, so you can order more if you are still hungry. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. Im a fan :)

My favorite sushi place. The woman working there is very friendly and nice. The sushi is very good and a reasonable price. I’ve gone here and had sushi about 5 times now and never had a bad meal or got sick.

Simple sushi. Nothing fancy. No skyrocket prices. Great for my wallet! The bowls such as salmon don are all cooked fish over rice. They do not have raw fish over rice like that(other than charashi) so don’t make the my mistake! The menu isnt clear if its hot or cold But the salmon don(cooked) tastes pretty good. I always go there for the rolls and nigiri.

My fiancé and I love this place. The staff has always been friendly and the food comes out fast. Food is consistently good. Don’t have to leave a tip here but we will because the food is always so good and the counter person is friendly. Neither of us have got sick from eating here.

Probably the ONLY Japanese owned sushi restaurant in the state of Vermont. A great variety of sushi and comfort Japanese food that is very authentic. However, I can tell some of the dishes are frozen /microwaveable e.g. shumai The bento combos are probably the best deals here. They usually change up the entrée in the bentos every few days. I’ve only gotten California rolls here and can’t really speak about the quality of sushi here. I only have two complaints about this place –The portion sizes are insanely small. I understand this is a Japanese restaurant but the portion sizes are perhaps only big enough to feed a 3 year old. They might as well call themselves a Japanese tapas place. –This is a family owned business and the staff is usually attentive. They occasionally have a part-time worker here who is extremely rude. Often brings in her boyfriend and starts talking while customers are still around. Unacceptable.
