Growing up in Philly… I definitely know a good Phở place when I see one. In Philly there is literally a phở spot on almost every corner… good ones at that! Since we live right here in Wilton Manor… we knew we had to at least give this place a try. I must say that I absolutely loved the décor which is not the usual. It was very trendy and lots of flat screen TV so it was very much a plus. Hubby ordered the bun bo hue which was a spicy lemon grass beef noodle soup. He had no complaints and didn’t even need to add any extra condiments. I ordered the special beef phở. The broth was very yummy and the noodles were very fresh. The only complaints was that the beef was over cooked. Next time I would definitely mention to not over cook the meat. Our server was very friendly and even went through the menus with suggestions. He sent out a free order of the crispy spring roll which was so delicious. They used the rice paper as the Wrapper which makes it very crispy and moist inside. I definitely would order that again next time. Overall the phở dish was very yummy and it’s literally right around the corner. The only concern is that they open so darn late and I have horrible timing. They open at 12pm and closes at 3pm and opens back up at 5pm. Definitely check the hours before you go. ************ So we went there again tonight during dinner time and it sure was not a pleasant experience. They were extremely busy and we waited so long for our phở. By the time I got it… it was Luke warm. I was so disappointed since I know that phở is suppose to be piping hot. I had to send it back to be warmed up. Also we had no clue who our server was. Every time we asked someone… I felt like we were bothering someone. Even though it was convenient… I don’t think we will be back anytime soon. My first experience there during lunch was a million times better.

I am writing this review after my second visit to this establishment. The first time that I came here was for lunch on a weekday and I enjoyed it. The staff was friendly and the food was quite tasty. Overpriced but tasty. Now the second visit, that’s an entirely different story. I will preface with the fact that they were pretty busy for a Thursday night. The wait time for the appetizers and entrees was unsatisfactory. 25 min for an appetizer and an additional 30 minutes for our entrees. That’s almost an hour before we were eating our entrees. My wife, daughter and I all had phở(but different types). –I had the Bun Bo Hue which lacked flavor and was not hot. I was too hungry hungry to send it back to be heated by this time. I give it a 2. The first time I had it there I would give it a 4 out of 5. — My wife had the seafood phở which did not have enough broth and also was luke warm. She had to send it back to be heated and broth added. She said it was average. — My daughter had the meatball phở. She enjoyed it. Probably because it wasn’t hot. She is 9 years old and tends to like her food in the warm side. Also the service was lacking tonight as well. It was like Bizarro What the Phở?! I felt like every time we asked the servers for something, we were bothering them. I don’t want to bad mouth anymore. So, I will conclude with a few thoughts. If this is your first time visiting this place I would come during lunch. I felt that dinner was a waste. The first visit I would rate a 4 and the second visit a 2, so I will meet in the middle with a 3 for this review.

Great food. Great service. I would give them 5 stars if it were not for their problems handling reservations. I went a few nights back with friends, and while I had made a reservation, the hostess had got it confused with another party and had already seated them. No table for us and the place was packed. They recovered nicely, as the restaurant manager stepped in(I assume it was him — he never introduced himself) and seated us within 10 minutes, and made sure we were well served. I would go again, but I would be real clear when I made the reservation who I was.

Went there around lunch time with gf for the first time and had a great experience. Thomas was our waiter and he greeted us with complimentary shrimp chips. I had the raw phở and my gf had the caramel chicken. Both were very good! The ambiance is very nice. I am happy there is a new phở place close to my home and plan on coming back soon to try their other dishes.

Food: 4 stars Service: 2 stars I’ve eaten here twice. On both visits, my dining companions and I agreed that we enjoyed the food at WTP. The Vietnamese cuisine is a welcome addition to the drive. The atmosphere is pleasant, prices aren’t outrageous for what you get, and the restaurant serves beer and wine. But the service… oh, but the service. In a word, «poor.» The first visit occurred shortly after the restaurant opened. The place was packed, we had to wait over a half hour despite having had a reservation, and the kitchen seemed overwhelmed. I didn’t write a review because it was a first visit, and the restaurant had recently opened. I promised myself I would return as the food was very good. On a subsequent visit in early January 2016, I was relieved to see that things seemed calmer and our reservation was honored in a timely manner. After we were seated, things went downhill. Our waitperson was surly – no smile, no social engagement, nothing. I would have preferred to order off of an iPad. I’m a patient diner, so when I found myself looking around for a waitperson to ask where my meal was I knew it was taking a while. Finally, a staff person DID come to our table to inquire if we «needed anything else.» She was ready to move us out before our entrees arrived. The food finally arrived, but my dining companion’s meal was not what he ordered. We would have brought this to our waitperson’s attention, but no one ever came over to see how we were enjoying our meal. It appears that no single waitperson«owns» a table, so the staff is left assuming someone else is waiting on you. When the check arrived, my companion indicated that he received the wrong meal. Someone went to check. They never returned. I think next time I will try lunch. I will let the staff know that I’ve had poor service in the past and see what happens. If you try WTP, you can be assured of a very tasty meal… and a questionable level of service.

I LOOOVE this place! The phở is phenomenal! The owner informed me that he makes the broth from scratch unlike other places that use a base. Staff was super friendly and the Thai donuts are a must! They are closed on Monday btw(I found that out the hard way haha) my sister ordered crispy pork with a fried egg and rice which was also very good. The pork was super crispy and they have this vinegary dipping sauce that pairs nicely. While we were at our table so many delicious things rolled by it was hard to decide what to order!

I like this place because it is convenient, the staff is friendly and food is pretty good. It is kinda pricey for Phở but they do have some interesting appetizers. To be honest, I was not a fan the first few times I went but then I realized the Phở I was ordering was beef broth based and not chicken, which is why I thought it did not taste as good as Chicken Phở I had at other places… my mistake. Also, the décor is nice(similar to previous two tenants) and again, the staff is super nice.

A few colleagues and I stopped in today for lunch since I have been in the mood for phở and was wanting a different location compared to my usual Phở Hoa. Despite a few recent unfavorable reviews, we had a pleasant experience! Food was really good — I had the phở flank steak soup, one of my colleagues had the caramelized pork lunch special and the others both had noodle bowls. The atmosphere was also really clean and modern — although a little *too* clean because as soon as we walked in the smell of Lysol was pretty heavy. Would definitely come back when in the area.

I’ve been to this place twice now and both times I have been thrilled with everything. It’s a really beautiful restaurant and as soon as we walked through the doors, we felt welcomed. On our first visit we had six people. Then it was eight. They quickly added a table. And a ninth showed up. No problem. They rearranged and made it possible. Never a complaint from any of the staff. The food is Vietnamese and the staff are very accommodating at helping you to understand the menu. We made our selections and when the food came, we were all thrilled. It’s delicious and plentiful. The bowls are huge and no one walks away hungry. If you happen to have room for dessert, try the Thai donuts. A little piece of heaven in your mouth. For service, for taste, for beauty, for something different in a dining experience, this place deserves five stars. And if you go once, you’ll be back.

Sat 19th dec 20155pm was my 2nd visit to this new restaurant located in the gay community of Wilton manors Fl. The restaurant has incorporated into its employee work shirts the gay rainbow image to acknowledge its local clientele. And which brings two areas of concern. Food which I was served was mediocre at best and the gay slurs behind the bar were in excusable. I ordered green papaya appetizer and summer fresh rolls. Both lacked taste and it seemed they were prepared days in advance and even when peppering them with a red chili paste nothing seemed to spark the quality I experienced on my first visit. While sitting at the bar the staff seemed concerned about getting one on the straight male non Americans to merry ’ one of the gay clients in order to stay in America. By sitting at the bar it became apparent that this staff member needed to stay in the USA and they staff were laughing and pointing at different gay eaters and asked which one he wanted. Sad. I hope this dump has a fast closing.

This is a new Vietnamese restaurant conveniently located in the heart of Wilton Manors. We walked in with no reservation and were seated promptly in a corner table facing they window. Their menu has a vast variety of Vietnamese soups and noodles. For started we order the summer roll«cooked shrimp and peanut soy sauce» the shrimp was fresh and tasty. Since It was raining outside I went with the Beef Phở, they allowed me to customize my Phở(that was a plus) I added mushrooms and shrimp. The beef phở was flavorful and consistent. We will be back to try the other dishes.

First, how do you not love the name«What The Phở»! This Vietnamese restaurant on the Drive is very trendy, it has large TV’s playing music videos through out, beautiful stone brick walls, bamboo, orchid arrangements and modern artwork through out the walls. There is a large bar, and seating in tables and high tops. I found the restaurant to be very busy for a Thursday night. The hostess was friendly, but it took our server a bit to get to our table. I opted for the Jasmine tea and the beef Phở. My phở arrived first with out the side fixings, as soon as it was delivered I asked our server and he said they were on their way, I think this is the first time ever I have ever received the phở before the fixings at any Vietnamese restaurant, but no biggie, they eventually arrived. The fixings consisted of your standard bean sprouts, thai basil and lime. We weren’t served any Shrimp chips which are very common to other Vietnamese restaurants. The Phở was ok, it was overly salty for my liking, it wasn’t amazing but it wasn’t terrible either, just A-Ok. Our server was not attentive, it took a while to get someone else’s attention to get a refill of my iced tea. One lady came by and asked us if we wanted to try desserts, we said yes they Doughnuts, she then went on to tell us how good they are and how that’s everyone’s favorite, so we were very excited as she kept on describing them and how good they are, but then she proceeded to tell us they were out! why would she go on and on about how good they are just to tell us they were sold out? Oh well, maybe next time. I found the Ambiance to be sophisticated and trendy, I would give it anther chance. Food 3 stars Service 2.5 stars Ambiance 4 stars

I’ve been to What the Phở three times since it’s opened and have had an excellent experience each time. My first experience was simple take-out of beef with vegetables with crispy noodles. Even on a busy Friday night, the food was ready very quickly and packaged with care. I followed up with friends for dinner one evening and had a variety of dishes selected by Huey, the owner, including Huey’s Special noodles, mixed vegetables with shrimp and some type of chicken stir-fry. Everything was excellent. The third try was a post-hangover meal of Huey’s special with some lettuce wraps to start. The lettuce wraps were amazing — definitely no Cheesecake Factory wraps here. We loved them. The atmosphere is lively, modern and welcoming. The staff is knowledgable and pleasant. Some reviews seem to complain that the place is overpriced for a Phở joint when compared to the«real» Vietnamese restaurant, but I think this is a case of you get what you pay for. Portions here are large, ingredients are extremely fresh and there is a wide variety of food and drink options. What a great addition to the Drive…

This place is simply amazing. A friend took me here and told me I had to try it. Upon arrival we were greeted with a super warm welcome; the staff is both attentive and well mannered. They make you feel welcome and I think that’s so important when serving good food. The restaurant itself is spacious, chic and clean. The food was simply delicious and so damn good. Well made and packed with so much flavor, I couldn’t believe a place like this actually exist in Ft. Lauderdale and can now be considered as my top 5 restaurants to try in Broward!

What The Phở, a Vietnamese restaurant recently opened on The Drive in Wilton Manors. The décor is somewhat western such as you might see in restaurants around Sedona, Arizona, which décor is left over from Rodeo, a prior restaurant occupier of the premises which had also been carry over to the previous occupier, Gregarious. Though not Vietnamese, it’s a good décor offering a more than pleasant dining and drinking atmosphere. What The Phở shows obvious start and growing pains. It only holds a beer and wine license and they only have a selection of about 6 beers with a skimpy rather poorly selected wine offering that clearly boarders upon the abysmal. The menu and items on it are also somewhat misleading as some of their offerings, such as Spring Rolls, are clearly to me not actually Spring Rolls, but in fact were Egg Rolls, and when it comes to salmon they have no idea of what salmon they are serving; my best guess from tasting would be that of a lower quality farm raised Pacific as opposed to wild Pacific or Atlantic. I even spoke with their food buyer who, ironically, seemed to be entirely clueless as to their being any differences. Though I spent some time in Vietnam, it was during wartime and though I most often wore civilian clothes, held a rice paper US issued«Get Out of Jail Free» card and was to mix with the locals for intelligence purposes, I didn’t mix in all that much. For some reason, probably being the fact that at the time I was a 6 foot tall blue eyed platinum blonde of Scandinavian ethnicity; rather easily spotted as not being a local. Hence, I really never got to enjoy much of their authentic cuisine or culture. I started off with a bottle(they don’t have any draughts) of Saigon beer and an order of their Crispy Squid. The squid was breaded, deep fried, served atop a bed of finely sliced lettuce along with a sweet tangy dipping sauce. The squid instead of being cut from the tentacles was actual cut from the body or steak area of the squid; hence none of those little«O» like rings common to most restaurants. It was also nicely tenderized, had a good smooth bite to it and was totally delicious. For my main, I had the Salmon Mango which was a large piece of unidentified salmon(I think farm raised Pacific) with julienned slices of mango with their special nuoc mam dipping sauce, $ 24. 00. The salmon came with a crunchy but natural sort surface sear to it. Though the salmon was good, the flesh of it was somewhat flavorless; common to that of farm raised. The special sauce, however, spiced it up enough, improving the taste, so that the taste was good. However, the mango was clearly not ripe, overly firm even to the point of being crispy and anything but sweet or possessed of a good properly ripened mango flavor. As for service, I couldn’t have asked for better; entirely top notch, professional, friendly and polite. As they don’t seem really have a hang of their menu, a thorough knowledge of what their offerings actually are and a totally crap wine selection the best I can go at this time is Three Stars, but I can say that they do have good potential and as far area Vietnamese restaurants of the area go, most of aren’t very good, they are already one of the better.
