Great, fresh food, attentive service, and stylish décor. You can’t go wrong! We will be back.

Went here early expecting crowds. Missed them and they never showed up. The restaurant filled but could hold more. It is a converted house into a restaurant(as are most in Wimberley), so the seating is funky. The staff is quite the assorted menagerie. When you see them, you’ll get my point — but all are efficient, attentive and nice. My litmus test is water and it was always full. Only serve wine and they give you funny looks expecting some liquor drink. Last time I went I had the salmon and it was wonderfully cooked.

Wow, be prepared to wait. We were there for 40 minutes waiting for our entrees. They were quick with drinks, and our server apologized for the wait and provided complimentary bread for our wait. The fettuccine alfredo was bland and seared salmon was good. Neither was worth waiting for, that long. I will say that our server was running around like a chicken with his head cut off, desperately trying to serve what seemed like the entire restaurant. He was fantastic, and I hope that they hire someone to help him out. Impeccable service, but the kitchen needs serious help. Overpriced food, I guess you pay for the ambience. Not sure. Anyways, great service(the wait wasn’t the waiter’s fault), but overpriced and SLOW.

We had a terrible experience here on a Sunday evening. We ordered our salad and entrée. The kale salad came right away(I have had better ones) but the entrée was nowhere to be seen. After nearly 25 minutes of our finishing the salad, the waitress told us that the kitchen is really backed up and it will be at least 15 more minutes before we will get our good. There were barely 10 people in the restaurant at 8:30pm. How could the kitchen be backed up? Needless to say we paid for the salad and left. Will not return.

We celebrated mother’s day a night early, and both my mom and mother-in-law had a great time. The service was on point. Our server Ryan checked on us frequently. My mom has allergies, and the chef came out to talk to her to recommend what she could eat. Food: We had the lobster and crab linguine(the table favorite), pappardelle, risotto, and chicken. The portions were generous — so much so that we were too full to try dessert. It was a shame because the dessert menu looked amazing(chocolate stout cake with white chocolate icing, crème brûlée, and lavender pound cake to name a few). They had a variety of wine and a few beers. Ambience: There was live, unintrusive music, which matched the ambience. It was very cosy and would be perfect for a date night, but it was also kid friendly(they had a few menu items for kids). The owner, David, spoke with us after dinner to ensure that we had a great meal — which we did. He renovated the place himself and we could tell that he put a lot of thought into it. Definitely highly recommended!

My mom and I stopped in for dessert and a glass of wine. Their crème brûlée is very good. We ordered one to share but easily could have had one for each of us! They also had a Moscato di Asti which is one of our favorite wines! Very cozy atmosphere and parking is easy. Our waiter was very attentive and nice.

My husband and I wanted a nice meal while passing thru Wimberly and Jobell was an excellent choice. The tomato basil soup and goat cheese kale salad were both delicious. The wine list had many great choices and was reasonably priced. We shared the pappardelle dish with lamb and pork ragu and it was extraordinary. Since we were sitting at the bar, we saw multiple dishes coming out of the kitchen and it was clear that the Chef understands both flavor and presentation. The wait staff were knowledgable about the menu items and very pleasant. David, the owner, was on hand and assisting his team however needed. All in all, this was a great meal and a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely be coming back when visiting the hill country.

I had lunch here two time and both times the food were great. Turkey and Brie sandwich is good as well as Cuban sandwich good if you like pork. The price is little on the high side but food and the cute restaurant make up for it. I would love to go back for dinner!

Not bad. Nothing compare to the flairs of Austin. But the best restaurant in Wimberely. We went he here for a date night. Got the special and the special salad that night. It was a neat thought but the dish really did not come together. It has a great atmosphere but the food was not as good as it gets.

Aaahhhh… The girl Farrah A never steers you wrong! We set up reservations for this place on a Friday night and the place was full. It’s a house that is transformed into a cozy restaurant. The staff was very nice and attentive. We even got to meet the owner(very nice gentleman) as we told him how much we enjoyed our experience there. For our appetizer we ordered the charcuterie and for our entrees we had the steak frites and the Coq-Au-Vin. All these dishes were on point and made this visit great! We will definitely return next time we’re in Wimberely, Tx!

Very excellent service and friendly staff. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant as was the host of the restaurant. My family and I enjoyed our meal in a quiet spot in the back which made it nice for easy conversation. The food options are great and a little on the fancier side which is a nice change of pace for a smaller town. However, after we ate we didn’t feel that their high prices were justified being that our food was just okay. Nothing tasted bad, but it didn’t wow us either. I would be willing to go back and try other things because I was pleased in all other areas of the restaurant.

I had such high expectations for this restaurant. The only reason I gave the place 1 star was for the atmosphere, look, setting. Such a beautiful place in the back hill country. As for the food that’s a whole different story. Let me start with the salad, I didn’t receive it until my main course came and it was terrible. I then had the steak for my main course. It tasted like it came from a malnourished bull(not cow). The cheapest, leanest, toughest meat I had ever eaten. I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium well. So I’m hoping my meal was the only bad one out if the 4 we had at the table. I look over at my wife and my 8 year old sons burgers they ordered. They had each taken one bite and spit it back into their napkins. Wife said it also tasted like cheap gritty beef and she could not eat it. The fries they got with their meals was the only thing they both had for dinner. The only thing that tasted decent. So I’m hoping and praying my 2 year old likes his food so someone at the table gets a good meal and full belly. We’ll needless to say that I was let down yet again. I ordered him the grilled chicken with fries. Keep in mind this is for a 2 year old, ordered from the kids menu. He took 1 bite and also spit it out. So I had to see for myself. I reached across the table, this time with low expectations of course. Well I didn’t spit the meat out but I surely didn’t let my son eat anymore of it after I pulled 2 bones out of my mouth from the 1 bit I had. That really upset me. If my 2 year old had choked on a chicken bone I would have sued the hell out of this place. It wasn’t the worst tasting chicken but it was no longer edible, so that makes 4 dinners out of 4 dinners that did not get eaten. I am not one to complain about my food to the waitresses, it is not their fault. The waitress up till this point had done a pretty good job of getting our food out and keep our drinks full. But when I asked for the check and she asked if we needed any boxes and we said no, wouldn’t you see that the food had not been eaten and then ask if it was ok or offer something else or offer to not charge? She did not. I seen her look at all the uneaten food and take it away like nothing was wrong. She then comes back with a $ 115 check says it on the table and walks away. Well I still couldn’t take the worst food we had ever eaten out on the waitress so I gave her the full bill with a 15% tip. Again I had such high expectations for this beautiful place in the hill country and was so let down. :(:(:(

LOVED it! Came in with my mom tonight for dinner, and had a wonderful meal here. The place is easy to find, the parking lot and building is covered with pretty white lights. And while it wasn’t crowded this evening, I imagine parking isn’t an issue here. The restaurant has a casual ambiance, but upscale and chic décor. Which is nice, because I don’t like getting gussied up! We didn’t order any wine tonight but the list looked fairly extensive. But moving on… We both had the French onion and mushroom soup, which was probably the best French Onion soup I’ve ever had. Seriously. Then for dinner I had the Shrimp Linguine, it was fantastic. Shrimp cooked perfectly, and was served with goat cheese, pine nuts, asparagus, and tomato with the pasta. So good! My mom ordered the seafood special, which was a Red Drum. A white fish we’d never heard of, but she thought it was really well done(as in delicious). And finally, because we’re fat kids, the crème brûlée was perfect with a cup of coffee. So all of that, with great service from our waitress, made our experience at Jobell pretty spectacular. I hands down recommend this place :)

This place was so amazing that we just HAD to come back for brunch on our way out of town. And that was a really great decision. The sad part is that both times there weren’t many folks in there. I hope that changes because this was really well-executed. The outdoor space with the tree lights, bridge, waterfall, and river is adorable. The inside décor is like a mod-Steampunk-baker’s mad laboratory. In a good way. The menu changes up from time to time, and it’s not always reflected on the website, but most of it is accurate. The wine list isn’t huge, but it has some very nice choices. The paté is amazingly good, and the little accoutrements are perfect for it, especially the toasted bread. We paired that with the Butternut and Kale Salad and shared the whole thing for a lovely evening. Their brunch was fun, and had some interesting offerings as well as the standard fare. We decided to share The Butcher Slate, which was an amazing array of meats, cheeses, salad, grits, bread, jam… oooh my lord it was good(some of the best bacon I’ve ever had). We paired that with one of their crepes with spinach, mushroom, and goat cheese. I wish they’d had like a swiss or something, but goat cheese was really nice. There was no savoy sauce offered, but they kindly brought me a side of hollandaise, and that was a great choice. We look forward to going back!

Went here tonight with my family and everything was absolutely superb. The ambience was cozy, inviting, yet sophisticated. We started with a bottle of the Annabella Pinot Noir– it was phenomenal. We each had a different entrée– the lamb meatballs and spaghetti, Pappardelle and steak frites. Everything was absolutely delicious! We also had a side of the truffle mashed potatoes– to die for! We really appreciated how the consistence of the entrees were all brought in by local farmers– a true Wimberley experience! We got the privilege of meeting the owner and that truly made our dinner even more enjoyable. What a great experience all around! Highly recommend– can’t wait to go back!

We recently chose Jobell for an anniversary dinner based on the rave reviews, and were quite disappointed. Maybe we went on an off night? Our server seemed inexperienced, like he was an unplanned substitute for waitstaff who called out sick. He was unfamiliar with the menu and very casual in both his demeanor and dress. Our food was underwhelming: the mussels were gritty and the shrimp risotto was bland and really heavy on the cream. On the upside, they were generous with the shrimp, which were plump and plentiful. The steak frites was the best of the bunch, but not great. It could have benefited from more seasoning of the beef itself and placement of the steak to the side of the fries instead of atop them, which caused them to be sodden. We ended the evening with the chocolate soufflé cake, which was riddled with dry, chalky spots, like it had been overcooked or microwaved. Thankfully, the company was good and the ambiance pleasant, so we took it all in stride despite a flop of a meal.

During a vacation in Wimberley, my wife and I decided to try Jobell’s. The café isn’t hard to find. However, it’s between two highway hills, so be watchful of cars when you turn onto the highway. We got to the café right about 5pm and were seated immediately. No one else in the restaurant but it’s still early. The café does have an upscale look to it. At least upscale compared to the cafes in the town square. Our waitress Ashley greeted us and took our drink order. Wine list by the glass was limited so we just got some ice tea. Soup of the day was pumpkin. Being a little chilly outside we opted for the soup. Ashley told us the soup was a purée of pumpkin. She was right. The soup was more custard like than soup. It tasted ok, but my wife couldn’t finish hers. For entrees, my wife ordered the shrimp risotto. I ordered the flat iron steak. Our orders came out slowly, but that was ok by us. My wife’s shrimp risotto wasn’t too bad, but it had a very strong fishy taste in the risotto. I know… there are shrimp in the dish, but that shouldn’t make the risotto taste like that. There were maybe 5 pieces of shrimp. My steak wasn’t very good. I wanted medium rare and it was overcooked. The steak was your basic sirloin and on the dry side. They top it with a garlic herb butter for taste. My steak came with seasoned fries. The fries were good and were seasoned with herbs and garlic. Sad to say, the fries were the best part of the entire meal. No bread was offered or served. On the good side. Our waitress was very good. Attentive, but not intrusive. Overall, we were not happy with our meals. We left a little after 6pm and we were the only diners the entire time. Maybe Tuesdays are slow for them. I know Wimberley is limited to cafes like this, so I hate writing a bad review. When we come back to Wimberley, we won’t be eating at Jobell’s.

Great brunch spot on RR12 just north of Wimberley. Great ambiance, and the food was on point — the Omelette special was delicious and filling — OJ was nice and fresh/tasty. We will definitely be back to try dinner.

I want my local businesses to do well but my first experience didn’t live up to the 5 star reviews I see here. My wife and I went for lunch and the sandwich was good and the wine ok. But I think they ate confusing pricey food and slow service with elegance. I’ll go back to see if they do better.

Jobell is my new«must» when enjoying a weekend in Wimberley. I’ve driven by the resto a couple of times but never got a chance to check it out until 4th of July weekend when our group was down the street at the Wimberley Rodeo and hunger struck. Unilocal’s «nearby restaurants» app feature recommended Jobell — reviews, pics and open reservations made it a top contender. Reservations are recommended due to the restaurant’s quaint size. Patio seating is available, but inside — ah, A/C! — is lovely with the chic, rustic décor. They have a tiny bar area and fireplace; and on our visit, there was a musician playing folk music. As for the fare — the menu offered a great mix of items appetizing to our group. Salad, chicken enchilada soup, mussels — the fattest mussels I’ve ever seen — pork chop, étouffée, gourmet burgers. And the wine list? Affordable with some pricy options for you fany, folk. They also had an interesting craft cocktail menu. I’ll have to get a taste next time.
