Extremely gluten free friendly. Staff was VERY knowledgeable about gluten-free options. My lunch was delicious! I got a pork plate of some variety with a side of guacamole. Love the atmosphere too. So glad a local had recommended this place to us. It was busy at lunch but the line moved quickly. The smell on the back patio was intoxicating. Highly recommend!

I’ve been going to Yellow Dog for years. It’s such a wonderful hidden gem on the tourist side of town. I bring all my visitors here. Make sure to bring a picture of your dog to put on the wall and eat outside when there is a performer. Great ambience and food. One of my favs in Orlando!

This is an AWESOME local favorite. Not a chain. This is our go-to place to take friends and family who come to visit us from out-of-town. While not an official play area, the Winnebago in the courtyard keeps our kids entertained the whole time we are there, so us adults can relax.

I was in Orlando for work and was told I HAD to check this place out. Best salad I have ever had… chicken curry salad. Service was great… staff was super friendly. Suggested a local draft beer for the $ 5 happy hour. It was great. Will definitely be going back next time I am on Orlando.

I’ve been to Yellow Dog Eats before, but never on a Friday night. The food is good as always. They have some of the juiciest pulled pork and mouth watering BBQ. On a Friday night though, this place is insane. Every table was packed, there was a constant line at the cashier, it was a mad house. The live music was a very nice addition though! Now for my main complaint, the service was horrific. I don’t care how busy you are, there is never any excuse to receive the service we had last night. The two ladies at the cash register were rude. When I got to the register one of them just looked at me, I assumed that meant I was supposed to order? They had no personality when answering any questions. They didn’t ask my name or give me a number, so I had no idea how I was supposed to get my food. A friend ended up going down and grabbing a plain sandwich for me(I hope it was mine). I’m not sure if they were understaffed or overworked, however I don’t see any excuse that could explain the rudeness we received at the cash register.

This place just rocks. I had not visited here in years, so I was thrilled when we went last weekend. Be prepared for a wait. It’s a restaurant inside an old house in the middle of a historic neighborhood, so space is tight and it is easily crowded. Parking can also be tricky, but they try to provide signs and additional parking lots across the street. Again, the food is worth it. I got the pulled pork BBQ salad, and I can honestly say it is one of the few salads I have actually been excited to eat — it was delicious! You cannot go wrong with any of the BBQ options, or really anything on their menu. They also have some adventurous options. Tips: — This is not the kind of place you want to visit when on a tight schedule. — Parking can be tricky. There are a few spaces in the front, but several are to-go only spots. — A small parking lot is behind the restaurant — There is also additional parking across the street(Look for the signs) — Be prepared for a fun time with lots of hippy references :) My personal favorite is the reference to Scooby snacks on the menu!

Eclectic doesn’t begin to describe this location. What looks at first glance like quite the dive is filled with some fantastic food combos. One member of our family is a pretty picky eater, but we always seem to find something for everyone.

Heard so much about this place for a long time and was happy to finally get to eat here with co-workers for lunch. I gave it three stars because it was good not great. Had the salmon sandwich, and it was a little under seasoned. But I did eat it. We ate outside and for some reason there was a horrible fly problem. My co-worker said that was unusual so I’m willing to not hold it against the establishment. Will more than likely go back. I’m sure I’d find something I will really like. Everyone else’s food looked really yummy.

Love this place! Been here a few times and have always left throughly satisfied. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here, but my favorites are the Elvis sandwich and the pork nachos. Ohh and try the gold BBQ sauce! Definitely a must try!

LOVETHISPLACE! The customer service is extraordinary, the owner is always speaking to customers and looking for ways to improve. Last summer I went and there was not a lot of outside covered seating, I go today and they added fans for the heat and more covered dinning outside. I love places that listen to customers. Food is delicious and so many options!

Go, just go! We were suppose to dine here on Mother’s Day but something came up. My daughter took me here today for our time together. We were unsure if our navigation directed us wrong but nope. It’s in a very nice subdivision. Do not let the line intimidate you, at all. They’ve got everything dialed down. I don’t know how but they do. It is kinda cramped and chaotic. Honestly we considered leaving. Praise the food gods, we didn’t. The outdoor dining is beyond cute. The service is super friendly and the owner makes his rounds abundantly. The food… Wow! First, I am not a fan of pulled pork. I’m not a fan of ‘stringy’ meat. The texture of this pulled pork is not like that at all. It’s damn fantastic! Portions are huge and we had a lot left over! Btw, they do give a military discount which I thought was super nice! We will be going back! We may relocate just to be closer. ;)

Food: 5 Service: 5 Uniqueness: 5 — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - As a frequent business traveler, I am always on the lookout for restaurants that, if I were in the area again, I would want to go to again. Yellow Dog is definitely one of those diamonds that I’m happy to have found. My wife’s best friend insisted on taking us here and we were not disappointed. The spins on barbecue are way beyond creative. It’s hard to describe without simply going to check it out and trying some of the options on the menu. The tried and true Dog’s pulled pork is an excellent entry into the uniqueness of their bbq sauce.

I wish I could rate this place higher. It’s a cute little restaurant nestled in an old house, taking full advantage of the inside and out. It’s counter service though so don’t expect to get waited on. I don’t even know where to begin concerning their pork sandwiches.(If you can decide between the MANY options they have) my favorites thus far are the«white trash» and«what the fig?» I’ve come here a few times with some co-workers and by myself. Their patio is perfect for reading a good book, and drinking equally good beer. This is quickly becoming my favorite hangout spot in Florida.

I don’t know what to say about this place… other than go. Just quit reading. Go. Best smoked pork in town… unique sandwiches… just all around amazing. It seems a little pricy, then you get your meal. Ask for a to-go box when you order, you’ll get two meals out of it without a doubt! The ambiance can not be beat. It is a truly unique, one of a kind place. An old home(from god only knows when) that’s been converted, the place has a cozy feel to it… so cozy that there are roosters running around.

Went here on a Friday night so I expected it to be busy. We pulled up to hear singing on the patio and full tables outside. The place has a cool vibe. It’s small so it can be a bit chaotic due to the sheer volume of people coming and going. The menu is extensive and as other reviewers have mentioned, it’s hard to decide what to eat. I settled on the Holy Crap and my husby ordered the Mr. Smokey. I love sandwiches and I have to say-this one was perfect! The turkey was juicy and flavorful and the combination of goat cheese and basil mayo was delicious. The portioning of everything spot on and it was warmed all the way though, which eludes some panini makers.(I hate a half warm panini) The husband’s sammy was piled high with pulled pork and pineapple(not my thing) and their trademark mustard based bbq sauce. That sauce was tangy, sweet and addictive. I’m glad I didn’t purchase some while waiting in line because I would put in on everything! If you can get past the wait, the chaos and sharing a table with strangers(we’re in this thing together) then definitely try this place out!

My second visit to YDE and the food never disappoints! After an afternoon of wine & beer tasting, my girlfriends and I walked in with hungry bellies ready to chow down. The only bad thing is this place is so popular, that is it always crazy busy. We happened to have great timing this day, as there were only 5 – 6 people in line(10 minute later the line was wrapped around the tables). They have a pretty giant menu so making a decision is tough but I have yet to be disappointed. I went with the Florida Cracker which as pulled pork, smoked gouda cheese, cole slaw, and crunch pickles piled high on Texas white bread with a mustard BBQ sauce. On the side I had the feta, tomato, cucumber salad(something healthy to balance it out of course). BBQ sauce oozing down my fingers and face, I went all in on this heap of deliciousness. If you can have a friend save a seat, sit outside if you can, this place has that old Florida house charm like you are sitting in someone’s living room or back porch. Great for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon with your friends and family!

I visited on a whim on recommendation from a friend; wishing I hadn’t! I was in the area with my boyfriend visiting a friend so decided it was the perfect time to visit after hearing so many great things about it! On a Friday evening, the parking lot was packed — always a good sign! There are seemingly wild chickens hanging around outside and we could hear live music as we walked up, a little quirky(in a good way) so we were pretty excited to check out the food we’d heard so much about! The line was huge and there weren’t quite enough menus to go round before ordering, so we shared with others in the queue which wasn’t a problem. My main disappointment/anger at this place however. I was standing in line and a server breezed past with a tray of food, sending an entire bowl of yellow BBQ sauce flying. right onto my foot and covering my leg and favourite sandals! I couldn’t believe he hadn’t stopped or acknowledged the situation at all, completely ignoring me, even though I yelled«EXCUSEME!!!» at him, completely in shock at what just happened. Others in the line were taken aback at this guy’s rudeness, offering to help. I had to go to the bathroom to wash off my feet and shoes — really not what I wanted to be doing that evening! Once I returned, I was told that someone had only just cleared up the mess around 10 minutes later, which is a little gross not to mention hazardous. SO glad I wasn’t wearing expensive shoes, otherwise I would have been furious(although it was still so disgusting)! I ordered the Classic Yellow Dog Club, turkey with smoked gouda cheese and salad on multigrain bread. We spent around $ 25 on two sandwiches and a soda, a little more expensive than we were hoping for sandwiches. Although the place was crowded, we found a spot upstairs to sit down. We had to sit on the same side of a large table together, as the other side was dirty. Our food was ready to pick up in around 10 minutes after ordering downstairs, which was pretty fast. My sandwich was good(and came with a bag of chips too), but not a great quantity for the price and nothing mindblowing that I’d come back for in a hurry. The place is decorated to look quite ‘divey’ and quirky which I’m sure lots of people are into, but the decorations and tables being dirty personally put me off wanting to eat there. A dud recommendation and a bit of a disappointment — no one wants their favourite shoes ruined and reeking of BBQ sauce(it still won’t come out)! Service was poor — it seems like staff wanted to spend more time chatting together and ignoring customers rather than doing their jobs. I definitely wouldn’t spend $ 25 on sandwiches again, especially since they sell better ones downtown for much cheaper! If you’re in the area it may be worth checking out if the slightly hipster, quaint and hole-in-the-wall places are your thing and don’t mind the dirt, but if you’re looking for a better food experience with half-decent service then steer well clear!

Great neighborhood«go-to» for us, Yellow Dog is a cool spot to hang and have some great BBQ and a beer or a glass of wine on the patio– watch your step, there’s roosters roaming free ’round here :-). Weekends there are live musicians playing which adds extra chill to the experience. There’s an indoor bar and tables, too. All orders are placed at the counter and you collect your napkins and cutlery then head to your table to wait for your name to be called when your order is up. My friend and I both had the Pulled Pork Salad with gourmet greens, red onions, grape tomatoes, crispy onions, blue cheese, cukes, jalapeño ranch dressing and Fish’s gold BBQ sauce. The staff is very friendly and helpful and since it it is counter service, food comes out pretty quickly. The menu has lots of creative sandwiches, tacos, BBQ and other options. Lots of locals stop in for take out, too and they have sauces available for purchase.

This place is pretty neat. I was surprised when I arrived, as it’s in the middle of nowhere and farm-like with roosters walking around and the dirt parking lot. It’s in a neat little house with so many eclectic things hanging up to look at. There’s even an old VW bus on the outdoor patio to eat in if you’d like. Their menu is large with way too many delicious things to pick from. I definitely had a hard time deciding what I wanted, but luckily for me, I overheard the lady at the register mention the special and then it was pretty much decided for me. It was a waffle cone filled with bbq pulled pork, chili, beer cheese soup and bacon. It was very good! They also have a nice selection of beer to choose from if you’re looking to have a drink with your meal. I’d definitely like to go back again to try one of the many other things on their menu, since I don’t think you can get the true feel of the place on just your first visit!

I recently drove 45 minutes after work to meet a friend at Yellow Dog Eats. I was skeptical – drive 45 minutes to go to a sandwich store? Really? Yes, really. Yellow Dog Eats is so much more than a sandwich shop, if only because their sandwiches are so much more than sandwiches. I had the Elvis, a pulled pork sandwich with beautiful bits of cheese and bacon. I have high standards regarding pulled pork, and Yellow Dog Eats knocked every one of them out of the park. I ended up discarding the delicious, fluffy bun, only because I wanted to eat as much of the pork as I could in as little time as possible. It is that good. YDE also has a really fun atmosphere – something I would expect in the art district of Portland, OR, not amongst some of the Orlando area’s fanciest homes. I will say that this restaurant certainly has its share of follower – my friend and I arrived at 5 on a Friday, and were able to easily find seats inside, but within 45 minutes there was a line wrapping around the door. I wouldn’t let that deter you, I’d just recommend a bit of planning prior to arriving to the restaurant. Overall, this restaurant is worth all of the hype, and I’m thankful that I made the trek out to Windermere to try it out.

I wish I had listened to my co-worker sooner… I love that it is in an older house kind of in a residential /commercial area, not in the middle of tourist central. I tried the Classic Mexican Mutt with Chicken, accompanied with a side of Tomato and Mozzarella Salad. The flavor combination of the wrap was some delicious and the small bite of cole slaw had a delicious twist of raisins. Be sure to try one of their desserts. I tried the Almond Joy brownie. I was not disappointed. Toasty coconut and almonds over a rich chocolate brownie. There isn’t much seating downstairs by the bar, but there is plenty of outdoor seating and additional seating upstairs. I love the fun and relaxed ambiance and the food is great. Can’t wait to return.
