Grilled chicken pita and zucchini sticks every time!!! Their zucchini sticks are fresh cut daily and battered right before frying. It doesn’t get better than that. Also, they finally take card!

the female employees are only nice to male customers. they tried to stick their sharp fingernails into the skin of my and other female customers. would walk away in the middle of waiting on females to talk to males. They will talk back rude, yell at and will not do anything for female customers. Not volunteer to do anything. The food is good. Though the service can not be. And the female employees will yell at female customers. I made the female give me a free drink for the rude constant behavior. The management did not do anything about it. We not go back. the only way to get good service we found. We asked a male customer to go to the counter and get our food and drink for us. We knew him so it was not a problem to get it done.

Never really had a bad meal. Staff is friendly. Very friendly. Salads are well made. The only downside is lunch time. This place gets packed. Their seating could be better but the food makes up it. Burgers are great and the zucchini sticks are the best.

They have the best Huevos Rancheros in Winston Salem and the prices are reasonable. I recommend Breakfast at the Olive Tree.

The Olive Tree boasts a nice little Mexican menu, burgers, subs, a Greek menu, pastas and salads. So there is a little something for everyone. There is nothing over $ 9 on the menu and all of it tastes pretty darn good. They also serve breakfast which there are a few great selections on the menu. This is an old Taco Bell, which still has the arched windows and chairs that swing out on a post, not so easy to maneuver in and out of. But the place is very clean and they finally take credit cards. Their burritos are very good, not Mexican restaurant quality, but way better than any fast food Mexican such as Taco Bell or Red Burrito. My gyro had good flavor but the pita was pretty hard. Souvlaki is pretty good too. Almost everything I’ve tried is pretty good and the fried zucchini is a must on every visit.

Something has changed. Food tastes different and they raised their prices. Not worth paying $ 10 for lunch. My chicken souvlaki had a small drop of tzatziki sauce and the fried zucchini sticks tasted bland. Not sure what’s going on but it’s doubtful I will continue to visit.

Delicious food!!! My favorite is the chicken souvlaki. The onion rings and fried zucchini are delicious as well. We eat here all the time. We need to try their breakfast soon.

My husband and I stopped here based on the club sandwich photo that another Unilocaler posted… He had a major hankering for a club. Neither of us are«huge» Greek-food and but this place offers enough other options for those not wanting a Pita or Gyro. I went with a BLT. It was ok… Hard to mess up a 3 ingredient item but I was not a big fan of the crumbled bacon… It made for a messy sandwich.(Think of bacon bits on a sandwich.) My suggestion to them would be to keep the bacon in strips. I noticed the same crumble bacon on my husband’s club. We also ordered a basket of fries(eh, I’ve had better) and 2 drinks. Our total came to $ 17-something which seemed kinda high for the minimal amount of food. I almost ordered a salad… and wished I at least added that too as I left still hungry. The seating area is VERY tight… So close in fact that to get(the only) high chair next to our table, a worker literally had to pull a mounted swivel chair off it’s mount, have me slide the high chair into place and then replace the mounted seat. Our 2-person table barely had room for our meals and drinks but I felt guilty taking a 4-person table due to the limited available seating anyways. Another Unilocaler mentioned this place opened in 1997… And the décor has definitely remained untouched since. Dusty fake vines and rubber grapes hang above the counter. Gordon Ramsey would have a field day in there. All in all, an ok place overall but I doubt we’ll be back. We’re up for trying more new-to-us places.

Pretty awesome food, and they are fast too. Extensive menu with good prices. Only issue with this place is the tight-seating in the dining area. We were essentially right on top of the people who were seated beside us. Awkward. The last time we went, we got the food to go for that reason alone. I believe the building is an old Taco Bell from back in the mid-90’s. Friendly staff. Get the philly steak!!!

Stopped here for lunch one day while in Winston-Salem and we enjoyed it. Being from Boston, I grew up with a lot of places like this and miss them terribly, so I was excited to give it a try. I got the Olive Tree Pita, which is like a greek salad in a pita. The pita was super fresh and they toasted it on the grill. It was really good. My boyfriend got the Beefeater which he said was nice and moist. Also, he said the sauce was good, he’s used to New England style sauces and this one was creamier, but tasty none the less. We also got a basket of fries, which was more than enough fries for the two of us. This place would definitely be a regular haunt for us if we lived in the area.

There is little to draw you here — the restaurant is a small(really small), bare bones, fast food setup(used to be a Taco Bell or such) with little ambience & uncomfortable seats, located on the slow moving parking lot called Stratford Road — except for the food, the pricing of that food, and the friendly service. The Reuben here is amazingly good, and very well priced at $ 4.85, though it is not the biggest version you’ll run in to. All the ingredients are fresh tasting, including the well toasted, mild rye bread. The Chicken Souvlaki on pita is an excellent sandwich — nicely sized, filled with great tasting chicken, lettuce, tomato, and an excellent Tzatziki Sauce. The Gyro($ 5.60) is authentic — perfectly seasoned lamb & beef, well cooked on a vertical pit, thinly sliced with a very nice outside crust, then topped with plenty of Tzatziki, tomato, lettuce, and chopped GREENONION(a very nice touch here). The Pita is also very good, great fresh taste. The Hot Dog($ 1.95) was pretty good, except for the red onions — just too strong. The house made chili is pretty darn good, and I’d reorder this but with slaw. The Fried Zucchini side($ 2.65) is addictive, and the FFs($ 1.75) are very nice — thin, well fried and seasoned. Come for the food — fighting the lunch traffic is worth it, the uncomfortable seats are worth it, and plain surroundings for a short period is not all that bad. And they NOWACCEPTCREDITCARDS! We’ll be back.

The Olive Tree on Stratford Road has been serving quality fast food since 1997. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Have cash or a check on hand; they don’t take debit or credit cards. We had already decided what we were going to order using the online menu. Several folks were in front of us, but the line moved quickly. The cashier was friendly and our order was ready in no time. Mom had the Taco Burrito with a side of Pinto Beans. The grilled burrito was stuffed with ground beef, cheese, beans, salsa(tomato, green pepper, onion), and sour cream. It had a light spiciness, just the right amount of zing for Mom. If you want it hotter, there are several bottles of hot sauce you can choose from on the counter. The pinto beans had been topped with cheese, were well seasoned, and had a texture and consistency like they had simmered all afternoon. I ordered the Triple Decker Club. At $ 6.75, it’s one of the more expensive items on the menu and well worth it. It was a large sandwich of ham, turkey, bacon, Swiss, American, lettuce, tomato and mayo on three slices of toasted bread. The Olive Tree club was a perfectly prepared classic. I ate every bite and loved it. My side of Coleslaw was made of extremely fine grated cabbage, a bit of carrot for color and tossed in a sweet mayonnaise dressing. I have eating here since 2000, we live about an an hour away, but still find a way to eat here once or twice a month. I travel the country and this is maybe the best tzaziki sauce i’ve ran across. I’ve sampled the menu(Greek and Traditional) and cannot find a weak spot… It’s all great!!! Try the pinto beans as a side, the best i’ve ever had w/cheese and just hint of Greek seasoning. The only weak spot is the dining room, it’s an old Taco Bell so seating is rather Spartan, however the food more than makes up for it.

After driving by multiple times I figured it was time to stop in. Thankfully I had already read on Unilocal that they only accepted cash so I knew to come prepared. I decided to go with a gyro. You order at the counter and then wait for your number to be called. The place was packed at lunchtime and it was loud. The seating is very close together, I felt like I was in a cafeteria(especially with the noise). The gyro was okay. I’ve just had much better. I don’t like raw onion so I get my gyro without it, but the tzatziki sauce had an overwhelming onion taste to me which I wasn’t a big fan of. If you are looking for a quick lunch I can see the appeal, but I would rather spend a few extra minutes and head to the other Greek place that is a favorite of mine that is down the street.

This is a great place. I like to come here and tear through a Greek salad with chicken and fried zucchini. You’ll notice their sign says its the best in town. I don’t know how hard it is to fry zucchini but god damn they do it well. There are a few things that keep it from getting 5 stars. First, they try to speak Greek to me. Now I’m a good Greek boy, but I can only speak American, and it makes me feel rude when I just smile and nod, feeling like I let my motherland down. Second, they charge for refills. Is this New York? I think not. I’m in the south and I want my all you can drink empty calories. Thanks.

Inexpensive family-owned lunch-counter Greek food. The food is very good and the service is friendly. At peak hours, it can be crowded, but is still pretty quick. It is cash only, but you won’t need much. The tables might be small, but the hand-painted walls are endearing.

I like Olive Tree. Very diverse menu. Good tasting food. I wish the prices were $.75 cheaper across the board. The other night I visited and got the Gyro on the wheat pita. Very flavorful pork. The tzaziki was kickin with garlic. It stuck with me the rest of the night(in a good way). Certainly a casual place. Cash only. They were busy when I went in and my friend and I had a tough time getting seats. We were right on top of the people next to us. I might get the food«to go» next time to avoid feeling like a sardine. I’ll return to Olive Tree.

For an inexpensive, «order at the counter kinda place,» this is a winner. Wide variety and very tasty. The prices are RIGHT!
