We came in with a group of 7 kids and 8 adults(total 15) and they almost nailed it. I would give them 5 stars but hey… it wasn’t perfect. Food was 5 out of 5. Service was 4 put of 5(a 3 year old spilled her drink and they didn’t notice right away… but hey… I am an adroit father who caught the spill before it hit the floor). I asked the servers to remove used dishes/glass several times but they didn’t(overwhelmed with our group). Brother in law picked up the tab and the staff was very appreciative. Good wine, GREAT steak! Deserts and coffee were great. If I could give them 4.5 stars I would.

An absolutely perfect meal. The only meal I have ever had that was comparable to this was E in Las Vegas. The service is highly professional, extremely fast, and extremely efficient. Dirty dishes are taken away immediately, glasses never come close to being empty, and the servers don’t bother you unnecessarily. The ambience is wonderful. Dim but not uncomfortably slow, plenty of space between tables, beautiful water sculptures, etc. Really really excellent environment. The food was spectacular. The restaurant caters very well to kids with the typical pizza/burger/chicken fingers menu, and the adult menu is. well just look. I had the Bone in Filet with the bordelaise sauce cooked medium rare, and it could not have been more perfect. It was tender and the sauce was jjjuuusstt right. I could honestly go on and on about this place, I absolutely loved it.

I was recently here with my husband and a group of friend’s as part of our annual trip to Wisconsin Dells. We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We had a reservation for 6:30pm, and we were able to be seated right away. The atmosphere at Field’s is classy, and the low-key lighting is the perfect touch. Our server was very nice and got us started with a drink order. The other ladies and I split a bottle of Moscato, and the gentleman ordered various cocktails. The food here is excellent. You can choose from steak, seafood, chicken, and veal. They also have appetizers, an a la carte menu and a children’s menu. For my meal, I had the Shellfish Medley. It consists of broiled shrimp, lobster and scallops, and is served with risotto and lobster cream sauce. I opted for the twice baked potato as my side. I would definitely order this entrée again. Field’s is a nice addition to the dining options in the Wisconsin Dells area, and we would definitely return here in the future.

This ended up being a great accident. We didn’t know what the place was when we hopped on the Wilderness shuttle. Needless to say a little underdressed. Very nice restaurant. Food was very good and the service was outstanding. We had 9 children with us and the wait staff treated them like royalty. They loved it. We enjoyed the food and service. Highly recommended.

Clearly one of the gems in the Wisconsin Dells area. The food was excellent and the service superb. Really the experience we needed after several days of mediocre food in the Dells. We ordered the Seafood Trio special which was really good. The seared Ahi Tuna was cut incorrectly leading to it being chewy. But the taste and seasoning were excellent. Dessert was great. I ordered the Chocolate Ganache(they called it La Bret Noire). Big surprise was Armagnac on the menu. It was tasty without being too harsh. The kids menu was great. My kids ordered the fried shrimp and the pizza. Both excellent. The didn’t finish their Chocolate Sundae dessert because it was huge. Overall love this place and we will return on our next visit to the Dells.

Giving 5 stars from this picky critic… doesn’t happen too often. I have stated, with much vigor… that Ishnala was the best upscale restaurant, in the Dells. I can now see, I deserve to receive 20 lashes with a wet noodle. Fields, has stolen my heart. We dined there last night, to celebrate my birthday. As an aside, we. only went to Fields, because Ishnala, was closed, for the year. eUpon entering the restaurant, the two greeters, welcomed us, warmly… acknowledged our reservation, and led us to a window table, overlooking, a small pond. The captain, introduced himself, and took our wine order. For our appetizers, I selected 6 briny oysters, served on a bed of crushed ice. They were accompanied by. a spicy cocktail sauce, and zwieback crackers… Outstanding! My dining companion had Lobster Bisque. I sampled her bisque, and immediately wanted to eat the whole bowl.(lol) Next came salad…spinich with a. lemon-bacon dressing.(I asked for the receipe, and the Captain, gave it to me, immediately. I was impressed, with his knowledge, of the entire, menu) Our entrees arrived. Her Salmon, with a razzberry lime reduction, was suberb. Her candied squash, was also outstanding. I had steak aupoirve, with a veal, port reduction and a twice baked potatoe. Nummie-num. For dessert, she. had a choclate torte. I enjoyed 3 crème brulees. This meal was flawless. If I found myself on death row… this is the last meal, I would desire. All in all, while paying the bill… I couldn’t help think, that I had died, and gone to foodie heaven. The tab was $ 150.00. Pricy, but WELLWORTHIT! After all… what is money for? Can’t wait to save up… and return… Glen B

Five visits and three and half years later the place hasn’t changed much. They’ve really cut back on the wine inventory, which was a big positive the first time. Service remains top notch and food quality can’t be beat. See you again soon.

I took my mom here for a birthday dinner and we were not disappointed. The menu has the typical choices for a steak house. Great extensive wine selection. We started with the shrimp scampi appetizer, which was delicious: garlicy and buttery. While prices may seem a bit higher I did not think they were unreasonable especially since they include a salad and potato choice or vegetables. Often the higher end steak houses everything is ala carte. I ordered the prime rib, super tender, but could have used a bit more seasoning. The rest of the group ordered a NY Strip and 7 oz filet, all cooked as ordered. The twice baked potato was one of the better ones I have had. The outer skin was crispy with just a touch of salt. Unfortunately, we did not have any room for dessert. They are part of Open Table so you can make reservations online. Definitely, try to get a table overlooking the water(pond). Overall we had a good experience. Service was good and our water glasses were always filled. The acoustics are not the best so it can be hard to hear the server at times. Stephanie the piano player added a unique touch to the dining experience playing modern songs that one would not expect to hear as piano music, but it worked!

Yet another fine dinning experience! Two of us were seated immediately with no reservations. Servers were polite and attentive. My filet was cooked perfectly! Husband’s lamb was too. I got the spinach salad with their bacon dressing. Loved it! Got the twice baked potato and that was delicious! This is an up scale restaurant so you do get high quality food… skip the house of embarrassment and head to the Fields!

In one word… delicious! We celebrated a birthday tonight at Field’s. It is a Saturday night in June so we had reservations for our group of 6. We were seated and gave our drink order. I had a Cosmo — see picture. Specials tonight included filet and fish options. Members of our group tried the filet duo which had a peppercorn glaze and another with a blue cheese topping. I ordered the shellfish medley. Yum! Lobster risotto, scallops, shrimp & a small lobster tail. All cooked to perfection! Our family lives an hour away so we are semi frequent guests of Field’s. The food & service is always wonderful!

We came here for a birthday dinner expecting a high price, small portion dining experience. To our surprise, the food was generous and tasty as one would expect from a premium steak house. The prices were fair for the food that we got. We ordered oysters for an appetizer and they were big, fresh, and crisp. For entrees we got the Colorado Lamb Chops and they were cooked right to your preference. We also ordered a seafood entrée and it was also well prepared, as well as tasting delicious. We were underdressed because we just came back from the pool but they were really welcoming regardless and sat us right away. This place has a great setting, great food, and a welcoming environment for families visiting the Dells looking for a little higher end place to eat.

Management has contacted me twice about this experience and has brought the issues to the servers and kitchens attention — we will try again as our first experience was excellent. Supposed to call first and will be taken care of! Finally a place that cares about their customers! Will update again!

I am updating my review of «Field’s at the Wilderness». I had issues with my dinner(Bone-in Filet) and expressed those concerns on Unilocal. I have to give a lot of credit to the Business Manager(Ryan H.) for responding to those issues via Unilocal. To Ryan’s credit, the feedback from my review has been brought to the attention of the kitchen staff… which is all a customer could ask for. I will give Field’s at the Wilderness another visit next year on out yearly water park vacation. Thank you Ryan for being a real manager! Dave

I have eaten at this restaurant many times over the years including the original location which was pretty much in the middle of nowhere when it was located on Hwy 13 before the Chula Vista resort was even a thought. Let’s just say the current location is beautiful. My most recent visit was on a Wednesday night in late October and I will have to say it was the closest I have experienced to a fine dining experience at this restaurant. Yes I realize it is adjacent to a water park, however when most entrees are $ 30+, I think people can put more of an effort into their dining attire than flip flops and rampant children. This evening it actually was a very contemporary clientele with a knowledgable bar staff and a slightly lacking, although personable, waitstaff. Like most«fine dining steakhouses» in the Dells, the menu seems to be a fairly similar facsimile to the original menu circa the 1970’s. Not bad, but nothing new and innovative. I believe the garnish guidelines have not changed since opening. My husband enjoyed his lamb chops, and the chopped salad I had was quite delicious in addition to crab cake, which while it was equally good, not great, left me shaking my head. The garnish gave me flashbacks to the 80’s and my time in LA. A pool of cheesy sauce topped with mesclun and the crab cake which was mounded under a pile of fried julienned carrot with two spaghetti antennae gracing the top! Interesting… This is a beautiful location and it is pretty much what you can expect while you are in the Dells. There is so much potential waiting in that location, just wish someone would take it by the horns and step out of days past and embrace the culinary thoughts of the new millineum.

Fight it out for parking or stalk someone for their spot, If you really feel the need to try this place. It wasn’t worth the headache. Tourist trap of restaurants. The service was mediocre. Our waiter had a group of tables right next to each other but yet managed to ignore most of them. The steaks were insipid. The only decent part about our meal was the almondine green beans. Overpriced! Don’t fall into this trap.

A little stuffy of an atmosphere. I think the staff are paid not to smile or converse. This started at the hostess desk. Make sure the men in your party wear shirts with sleeves, or you will have to borrow their polo shirt Lobster bisque was good steaks were amazing. To spend more than $ 50.00 per person, I expect the staff to be a bit more human

High prices, early 90’s ambiance, really dark, and under-seasoned food were my takeaways from my Field’s experience. From the décor to the dining experience, so much of it felt like it was from a different time. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just what it was. Our service(from the few people who rotated to our table to serve us) were great. It would’ve been less confusing had they established that 3 – 4 people would be helping us out from the get go but that’s neither here nor there. My surprisingly-expensive steak was cooked properly but was very under seasoned. And my side of a baked potato was cooked properly but offered only a topping of butter and sour cream. It felt bland, sadly. Would I come back? Probably but I’d check out the bar and not order a steak.

Descriptive phrase: fancy but approachable steakhouse. Four of us came to Fields At the Wilderness on a Friday night. We were seated promptly at our reservation time of 7:30PM. It’s located on the edge of one of the Wilderness Resort’s parking lots. Inside it’s much larger than you’d expect from the outside. There’s waterfalls, different levels, a bar with a piano-lounge singer. If you look too closely it is a bit dated, but it’s not off-putting. From the get-go our service was superb. There were a lot of different people we interacted with, but you wouldn’t know that from their professionalism. They operated as a unit. I started with a brandy Manhattan($ 9). Very strong, but otherwise nothing notable. Everyone else split a bottle of Riesling($ 26). On top of the complimentary hot rolls, our table split an appetizer special: Asparagus Fontina($ 12). Four well-cooked pieces of asparagus wrapped in prosciutto with melted cheese atop. It was not a lot of food, but the cheese helped to make it feel more filling. Tasty and a worthwhile starter. I again ordered a special that night: the Cambozola Filet($ 47), medium rare. Out came an 8 oz filet topped with mushrooms and cambozola cheese on a bed of a sweet and tangy sauce. Absolute perfection. Each bite was tender, the meat was just as red as I wanted, the cheese and mushrooms gave just enough creaminess to counterbalance the saltiness. It was enough to forget about the sub-par spinach salad that had come right before. The companion twice-baked potato, however, was delicious. For reference, a standard 8 oz filet was $ 40 and the porterhouse was $ 44. I would say my Cambozola filet was worth the $ 47, but my tastes of the normal filet wouldn’t price it past $ 30. I did not try the porterhouse, though my friend enjoyed it. As one of the only legitimately nice restaurants in the Dells, though, the prices aren’t outrageous. Overall I fantastic meal from my seat. Oh, and I loved the warm towels at the end.
