Came here for the first time this past weekend. I was a little surprised by the proces…$ 6 for a roll? Is Queens now Manhattan? I got a cali roll and a boston roll. Unfortunately, they both tasted identical. There wasn’t much flavor or pizazz. However, it was really fresh. I will definitely go back and try a couple of their special rolls. They look really good. Also, everyone there was very nice, friendly and accommodating.

Our go-to place to get takeout sushi in our neighborhood! Very tasty, fair prices. Small seating area for dine-in. They do not deliver!

I ordered take out for my moms birthday lunch. The bulgogi over rice is soo flavorless and they put the salad with the rice and meat thats hot so by the time u eat it its soo soggy… And what they mean by edadame is two strands … For a dollar more i would have gotten a bento box from a real restuarant like tj bistro … Very disappointing

Good sushi, and service. Its a pretty good neighborhood sushi place. No frills, just fast, and good food. You can’t go wrong with the lunch special and any of the crunchy rolls. I’m not a fan of the teriyaki stuff though. It was a bit too sweet for me. So I only get the rolls I like from now on.

Recently ordered catering for business luncheon. All the sashimi, sushi and rolls were fresh and beautifully decorated. Price was reasonable for the amount food we had for 20 people. Staff at the business is very professional as well.

Most amazing Tiger roll. My favorite sushi in New York! Prices are totally reasonable. Has the feel of a real old New York corner place, with the elevated subway right above, and cozy interior. But that doesn’t matter — I still give this place five stars because the food is unbelievable, and the price too.

Such bad quality fish. The tuna was obviously frozen. It was tough and rubbery. And the salmon was oily, like it had been sitting for long. Not fresh. Disappointed. Price is good. But you get what you pay for.

So far I am a fan of this place. The dining area is very small. I read on Unilocal that it was small but when I got there, it is really small. Maybe 2 tables and a bar along the window. I’d opt for take out as they don’t deliver. I ordered the Maki C combo which has crunchy/spicy tuna, crunchy/spicy salmon, and a sunny roll which is basically a spicy california roll. This combo was $ 16 for 3 rolls and comes with a miso soup. They also have a small Korean section on the menu which is pretty cool. I ordered the Bulgoki over rice from here which comes with a salad, miso soup, and edamame for $ 9. Overall for 2 people it was under $ 14 each. Not bad for sushi and korean food in one sitting. I’d definitely give this place a try, maybe during the week since it doesn’t have a big dining area and they do offer some good lunch specials.

I usually pass by 52nd Sushi when I get off the subway but never tried it as I usually go to TJ Bistro. I walked in this tiny place and I was pleasantly surprised. Service was exceptional!!! I ordered Sushi Deluxe &52nd special roll it came with miso soup. You can dine in or take out however they don’t deliver you have to pick up. It was busy it is clear that it’s popular spot in the neighborhood. I’m a fan! I’ll return for dinner or order for them.

MYGOD! the food here is the bomb! Everything on the menu satisfies my taste buds. Its affordable yet delicious! I live closer to TJ Sushi but i would walk that extra mile to get food from here. The staffs are always super friendly and always greet me with respect! I highly recommend the seafood udon in the winter and Salmon Hwe dupbap for summer. My two favs(:

Best part of this place is that it’s CHEAP. I used to order from here 10 years ago. and tho many business come and go in this neighborhood, it says something that 52nd sushi is still in business! Good for them. Good deal for their lunch special of 3 rolls for 12 $ or 2 for $ 9. I loved the crunchy spicy tuna and salmon with avocado. Spring tempura was meh. Salmon is good here in general, tuna sashimi not as much… this can be an expensive fish, so you can see the quality reflected by their price. Super tiny dining area, don’t bring a date here you won’t impress anyone… but good for a quick casual lunch! Credit card minimum 10 $.

My favorite favorite favorite Sushi restaurant in the world. I feel like I have been spoiled by the quality and value of the food here. The location itself is very small, as other reviewers have mentioned. But to me it is cozy and gives off an authentic Japanese sushi bar feel. My favorites here are their eel, seaweed salad, and miso soup. The lunch special and bento boxes are both such an amazing deal. So I usually do every other when I come(once a week). I do feel like their non sushi entrees such as udon and takoyaki is not as good as TJ Asian bistro nearby. But the place is called 52nd st sushi. Stick to its namesake.

My girlfriend introduced me to this place a few months ago and I’ve only just started writing reviews today, so here goes. The place itself is tiny, with no more space to accommodate more than 10 or so customers. The main business here is obviously take out. Like i do at all sushi places I’ll go for a couple of basic rolls, usually the Philly roll and spicy Tuna. The fish is fresh and delicious, and the rolls are well assembled(they won’t fall apart on you). If you order a few rolls, you will be treated with miso soup, which I find to be delightful. A few weeds of sea here and there in combination with egg yolk pair up excellently. The real treat, however, are the specialty rolls. Personally, i am so enticed by the 52nd roll that i have yet to try any other specialty rolls, but hopefully that is telling of how much effort goes into the rolls. Shrimp tempura combined with spicy mayo, crab meat(not sure if authentic or imitation) and other things goes amazingly. 52nd roll is a must try for anyone who tries sushi here. All in all, the price is fantastic, sushi is great, and service is prompt and friendly. Must try for any locals who are hesitant.

Never actually been here to eat I always order delivery. The delivery is always fast and the sushi is pretty standard nothing out of this world. Price is low. Maybe one day I will stop in to eat.

The plot thickens… and I mean the plot of that story where I get take-out sushi and watch movies in bed in my underwear. Usually, TJ Asian Bistro around the corner is the winner for me. Yet, a new contender has entered the sushi ring… decided to finally try this place last night and feed my muscles some protein after an epic workout at the gym. I noticed right away that it was just slightly more expensive than TJ. By like a dollar or something for some of the rolls. The simple eel roll was definitely more expensive. I ended up getting the dragon roll, a salmon/avocado & a tuna/avocado & a miso soup. I have to say, it was good sushi. The rolls were pretty big! I had about an entire roll left over, I was satisfied and didn’t want to keep eating… Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The dragon roll was realllllly good. Oh and the miso soup stood out to me as well, it was very flavorful. The restaurant itself was tiny with minimal seating. But I wouldn’t recommend eating in anyway, it’s right by the 7 train and incredibly loud when the train passes by. Definitely check it out for take-out though!

It’s official: quality is terrible and they’re cheap with quantity. Avoid, avoid, avoid. TJ Asian Bistro is the winner.
