I never thought I’d find fine dining in Woodstock, but boy was I wrong. My wife and I visited one evening because we’d heard great things from friends. They weren’t wrong! We showed up without reservations and they were happy enough to seat us regardless of our ignorance on a Saturday evening. The restaurant has a classical, quaint feel about it and the sound of the piano player resonates through the entire building. We sat on the old stone patio overlooking Main street and enjoyed some great wine and conversation while waiting on our food. The entrees were amazing. We both had pasta dishes with seafood(scallops and salmon) and neither of us finished our meals. They used fresh seasonal veggies along with seasonal wild caught seafood. Everything was fresh and the presentations were fantastic. The chef really delivered. The portions were very generous and the service was spot on! I recommend this place to anyone in the Cherokee area looking for a wonderful, semi-fancy dining experience. Just make sure you make reservations.

I never did get to eat here but I rated it according to others since everyone loved it so much… I am disappointed that I missed it. We drove to Woodstock today to have lunch here. It is closed to the public as of last week. They now only do private events. The hours of operation are still on the front door. We finally asked the people in the shop next to it when do they open for lunch. So sorry, it’s closed…

Went here this morning to get some breakfast with the better half and a friend from out of town. When we walked in this quaint little place had a small wait but we got seated relatively quickly. The brunch menu looked very appetizing and after a little discussion I decided on the Eggs Benedict, she got the walnut filled ravioli and our guest had the egg special. Our server, Brittany, was very friendly and talked with us a little and explained the specials. I have to say that most of the time a good restaurant experience can be made or broken by the wait staff and I have to say that this time, Brittany made the meal a great experience. She was cordial, friendly, kept our glasses filled at all times and checked in enough so that we didnt think we were being ignored but not enough so that we thought she was overly attentive. The food was also great as well. The Eggs Benedict were great, cooked just right, and the hollandaise sauce was just right. not too buttery, not too lemony. I tried some of the walnut filled ravioli and they were quite tasty as well. The country potatoes that came with my dish were perfectly cooked. a little crunchy but not well done, and the apple wood sausage I ordered on the side was quite flavorful and not cooked too long so as to make it tough. I would highly recommend this place for Sunday Brunch and we are planning on going back to try this place for dinner as well. At the end Brittany talked to us a little about what she had going on in her life but I didn’t feel like she was being too open about her personal life. She was truly personable and even though she was young(18) she had the serving people part of her job down and was one of the reasons why the meal was so enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place to try for morning brunch and then a stroll on Main Street in downtown Woodstock.

VERYVERYGOODFOOD. Wait staff was very friendly. I had the encrusted trout and was talked into all kinds of sides because I couldn’t decide. Everything was delicious. Strange local crowd at brunch though. Never seen a bloody mary ordered in quite the fashion as the table next to me. Those of you who dine outside of the permimeter will know what I mean. =)~

Old Towne Café is by far one of the best restaurants I have eaten lunch at near Kennesaw State. It is located on the beautiful historic strip of downtown Woodstock, right next to this old colonial house that has been renovated and made into a day spa or something. Seriously, I know a lot of you ITP Unilocalers have a hard time venturing out into the suburbs of Atlanta, but you have got to give this small little town and restaurant a try next time you are in the area. The town almost reminds me of a smaller version of Savannah, without all of the stupid bars that serve alcoholic milkshakes or whatever you call them. If you do happen to make it out to Old Towne Café, I highly recommend that you order their traditional BLT with fried green tomatoes. My taste buds got down on one knee and proposed to Old Towne’s BLT as soon as the two star crossed lovers met. They also serve breakfast all day, and one of the best breakfast items is the French Toast with strawberries. Oh, and the place has a beautiful dining room and the outside porch area next to the street is perfect to dine at, pending good weather.
