fantastic, fresh and what a salsa bar. We had the amazing chicken, hot off the grill with fresh tortillas. It was sublime. So glad we found this hidden gem. Highly recommend!

This place is ok. The chicken was very good. I thought $ 15 for a whole BBQ chicken was a little high. However, for $ 20 you can get a whole chicken, tortillas, rice and beans. Which was just right for a family of 4 with an 8&5 year old kids. Beans were excellent and I do like the salsa bar. It seemed very popular with locals.

Wow. What a hidden gem! Even with Unilocal it was hard to find, but so worth it! The salsa bar is excellent with all the all the cilantro, toppings and salsas you want! So good!

We are visiting Yakima so being unfamiliar with the area we Unilocaled for our meal. I tend to enjoy hole-in-the wall places that are indicative of the local area. Since Yakima has a huge Latino population, we chose this place in a little strip mall anchored by a mercado. Right out front is the large BBQ that reminded me of the open air BBQ I loved in Mexico. The décor is non-descript diner style. You order at the counter, give your name, and go get your food when your name is called. The people working there speak very limited English but the menu does give you a few hints about what the main meat is(beef, chicken, or pork). Enough about stuff and onto the food. This little place cranks out deliciously smokey, moist, BBQ chicken you can order as whole, half, or ¼(2 pcs, thigh and leg, or wing and breast). It’s served with rice and beans and delicious corn tortillas. If the tortillas are not homemade they sure fooled me. Delicious! Yum! My only question is what the heck is a crazy parrillon?

Unfamiliar with dining options in Yakima so I Unilocaled for my meal and discovered this delightful spot behind the grocery store. Walking past the parking lot grill with whole chickens roasting just outside the front door and stepped inside to a sparking clean and neat space with friendly outgoing staff. I was perusing the latino & illustrated menu on the wall and leaning towards ordering the carne asada, the cook(owner?) suggested the fresh grilled marinated chicken instead. I took his recommendation and added beans and salad for sides. I enjoyed a delicious low priced meal that exceeded my expectations for any Mexican restaurant! The corn tortillas were fresh, the prices were low and my plate was chock full of well cooked and seasoned white and dark chicken pieces. The salsa bar offered a variety of 6 different toppings for my salad(or chip dipping) What more could I ever need? This was my first visit here and next time I find myself in Yakima, will be the very first stop for some of those chicken tacos!

Real, spit cooked Al Pastor and mesquite grilled chickens! I was in heaven! The best ethnic restaurants can always be found next door to ethnic grocery stores, use styrofoam cups, and don’t have English menus. Tom & Jerry meets all of these criteria and does not disappoint. The Al Pastor was delicious, the portion had a little too much pineapple which messed with the ratio, but it was deliciously seasoned. The grilled chicken was fabulous. The white meat was a little dry, but the dark meat was delicious. I dug every scrap of meat from between the bones. The salsa bar was impressive, there are so many choices that the really should be labeled for us gringos. Don’t forget to get a big horchata, in case you accidentally get some of the habanero hot sauce!

Holy Mexican taste explosion, Batman! That was some of the absolute best tacos I’ve ever had — juicy succulent meat, amazing flavored, loads of sauces to try, and to top it off delicious handmade tortillas! In Yakima this week for work, but if I lived here I would come at least once a week! I’ll be back for sure!

Excellent BBQ chicken, and the myriad sauces at the salsa bar just make it even that much better. On the way from Seattle, all I can think about is this chicken.

Excellent, traditional food. Chicken is fresh off the outdoor grill. After ordering we realized that the chicken was the specialty. Our Carne and pork carnitas were wonderful. After a few minutes one of the women cooking came out and asked if it was our first visit. When we said yes, she offered us a sample of chicken. 4 hot, crispy, juicy pieces arrived and, yes, it was fantastic. We were definitely in the minority, but felt very welcome here. We nearly missed it as it looks like part of the grocery store. So glad we found it. Fresh, hot and not all covered in cheese.

We were driving through and Unilocal led us here — great chicken. Very well seasoned and grilled. Good service(at the counter) and an excellent selection of salsas.

Yep, it’s a little dive in a strip mall, and it’s a real gem. You must order the chicken — ¼, ½ or whole. Then add beans and rice. Salad is pretty much just iceberg lettuce, but that’s okay! Get your veggies by sampling the 10 or so salsa options. The tortillas are handmade. The service is friendly. It was a risk that paid off. Hoping more people get on a review this place — it’s worth it.

Stopped in for lunch at this place. Got the ¼ chicken plate and it was really good. Great homemade tortillas, made fresh on the spot, too.

I heard from many people that this is a great place to eat, so I finally decided to go. I ordered chicken tacos but was disappointed when I received them. I was expecting to receive delicious tacos with the grilled chicken not tacos with boiled chicken in chile sauce. I tried them and they were not bad but my question is why would you sell chili sauce boiled chicken if your specialty is mesquite fire grilled chicken? I came back to the counter and talked to the guy and he said I should have ordered tacos of grilled chicken which by the way were not even on the menu above. He also told me they were a little pricier that instead of $ 1.50 those were $ 2.16. I ordered one taco and it wasn’t flavorful and delicious. It was just alright. So there you have it try it out for yourself I haven’t ordered everything on the menu, but due to the customer service I will probably not be back.

Don’t let the humble appearance deter you… the food here is so delicious. Whole chickens, on the grill, right out front… reminds me of the huli-huli chicken back in Hawaii. The two of us shared the #13(½ chicken, fries, salad, tortillas) and each had an Al pastor taco. Plenty of food, the Al pastor was the best I’ve ever eaten, maybe the best in the world? Try it, then you decide.

This place came highly recommended from a local family member. Being that my Spanish is minimal at best, and the girl at the counter spoke no English. This was not much of an issue being there was another young lady that did speak English. So my wife and my stepson ordered the Carne Asada Plate, I ordered the ½ a chicken with rice and beans, and my son ordered a chicken burrito. The taste of the chicken was absolutely delicious. We watched as they cooked and cut it up right there at the grill that was out in front of this little place. And the portion size was definitely worth the money. My plate was large enough to share with my daughter who was not really hungry until the food came out. She was kind enough to help me clean my plate with the greatest of ease. This little place is remenisant to a couple of place that I used to go to in southern Arizona. Yet I couldn’t give it a 5 across the board for a couple of small reasons. One they do not have any kind of water to have with your meal and the seccond reason wis that in my son’s burrito he found a thigh bone in the middle. As far as a return we will come back, when we come in from Spokane.
