Kluck’s Drive-in looks like a disaster area right now with all the crazy roadwork going on along Michigan Ave. Luckily, enough people know the food to ignore the yellow cones and find a way in, or park and walk. Best thing about Kluck’s in my mind is the friendly service, Detroit style Chili dog and sweet potato fries. And of course Root Beer. Great cold Root Beer! I keep thinking I am going to try everything else on the menu but I think I prefer the simple things. Make this place a regular stop for lunch once a week. It’s not a «special event» kind of restaurant, but its a business we are really happy is still going strong, with servers who smile and try to remember us.

We come here at least twice a week. The price is reasonable. Everything I have ate was great. My favorite is the Large cheeseburgers with onion rings. Their employees are fast and friendly. No complaints from me or my roommate.

I’ve definitely experienced better. I just see a lot of fried stuff on the menu, and given how dirty everything feels I’m not sure I’d want to try much. Nothing offered here that makes me want to come to this ‘drive in’ over any other establishment out there. Plus the crappy drive way had the mini van scrapping the undercarriage. Had some chili cheese dogs. Bun was steamed well, but I was immediately disappointed by a folded up slice of american cheese next to the dog. Chili was, as like others said, sweet like sloppy joe manwich. While it was meatier than other chilis I’ve had, I did not care for this flavor at all. Yes they have more than dogs, but I see a lot of dogs in the reviews. There was no cheesesteaks as mentioned in Tom B’s review, so I guess that changed. No offense but nothing about this place is anywhere near 5 stars.

My favorite Drive-In restaurant! Was so happy to hear they where open again. Made the trip from Chicago last weekend and had to stop in. Ordered my usual, 3 foot-longs and a large root beer in a glass mug. I was so happy that it tastes just as It always had. I can remember coming here 30 – 40 years ago. It needs some serious painting, especially under the awning which is pealing badly. They are Cash Only. I believe you can sit inside, but I have always ordered from the car and eaten in the car. There are not a lot of places you can still get this 50’s experience anymore. My kids tease me because I have never tried anything except the Foot-Longs there. But once you find heaven on a bun, there is no reason to order anything else.

Kluck’s has been my favorite drive-in since I was a kid! My dad used to take me all the time, and to this day(at age 31) I still order the same thing! A footlong chili dog with extra onions, a regular order of onion rings, and a large rootbeer float! Last year when I was pregnant, I got a craving for Kluck’s, and drove all the way from the west side of Ann Arbor only to find it closed! I settled for Bill’s Hot Dog stand, but it just was NOT the same! I literally yelled«YAY!» out loud when I saw that it was open again. I know where I’ll be going tomorrow!

Sorry but Brenda has no idea what she is talking about… She probably does not frequent drive-ins. The Hot dogs are great. They use Dearborn brand hot dogs which are the best. Their chili is unique. Much like the other reviewer said it is sweet like a sloppy joe but with spice like a chili sauce. I recommend getting a foot long. This place is the oldest drive in in Ypsi. It has stuck around because of it’s food. Just like the sign says«serving delicious food for over 50 years!» That sign has been up for as long as I can remember and I am now 25. I would also suggest giving their cheese steak a try. It gives Gabriel’s a run for it’s money. The Home made root beer floats are also AMAZING! If you truly like drive in food you will love this place! You can even go inside if you want to. I only wish I could have been the first to review after Klucks glorious return.

Was surprised to see that this place was open after years of being closed down. So when i saw that it was open, i had to try it. I had a loose burger(tasted to much like a sloppy joe), Curly Fries(good) and a small Cheeseburger(good, taste like any other Ypsilanti burger joint honestly). The price was excellent and there homemade root beer is good. Also it has the old school drive-in experience which makes it nice. Now me personally ii think chick inn is better because of a more menu choices and better overall quality of food. However, I will say that kluck’s is a good second choice.

If you just need the«drive in» experience, then pull up and have an order of fries. They are edible. The chili on the chili dog was disgusting! I can’t be certain, but I think it came from a can. And not a good can. Yuck! All of the food we tried(grilled cheese, fries, onion rings, chili dogs, rootbeer) was either average, or slightly below.

Kluck’s makes the best chili around. I love their chili dogs. They have a new menu which has added a lot of great things. Especially the cheese steak hoagie with mushrooms. SOGOOD. The burgers are great here too, alike the Roy’s Squeeze Inn burgers down the road. but these burgers have ketchup, mustard, and pickles added to them. It’s definitely kid friendly and everything’s always made fresh. It’s a great experience eating under the awning in your car with your family or friends. Quick service, cheap amazing food. Check it out.
