MTR Mong Kok Station

Crazy busy. Mong Kok is the one of the most densely populated areas in the world. So you should expect Mong Kok Station to be the same.
There are two different lines that run through this station, the Kwun Tong Line and Tsuen Wan Line. I used it most for the latter to get to Sham Shui Po as well as to get to Hong Kong Island. There is another station called Mong Kok East Station that stops in the area that runs from Hung Hom to the Chinese border. You can reach it by exiting Mong Kok Station, heading up the above street walkway towards Grand Century Place where this station is located.
While this the easiest way to get to Hong Kong Island from Mong Kok, I find the crowds here to be a little overwhelming. It does kind of remind me a bit of Ximen Station in Taipei with its many exits and passageways.
If you need to get to Mong Kok, I would much prefer getting there using Mong Kok East Station which is not as crowded. But this station is the way to go if you need to get to Hong Kong Island quickly. Just be wary of the crowds.

When I first fame to Hong Kong it was pretty packed here in Mong Kong. Slowly but surely recently its been more packed due to the protest. You can easily spot people trying to get from one place to another and having trouble to do so.
This is where people with do train transfers too and can easily spot the mainland Chinese coming in. My suggestion is if you are going to Mong Kok, act fast because this place is known to have a lot of pick pocketers. Always be careful of your surroundings.

I felt like my very first Unilocal HK review needed to be a place close my heart, ahhhhMong Kong station… the busiest, most touristy station on the red Tsuen Wan line (other than maybe Central/​Admiralty). Every time I go back to HK, I’m chillin’ in this station 90% of the time because all the cool kids are here. Mong Kok Station takes to you to THE most happening streets in HK, Ladies Market, Fa Yuen Street, Portland Street, and Tung Choi Street. My favorite places surround this station, Langham Place, Argyle Center (Oops American spelling! ~Centre), Sim City and Sino Center. This is the closest station to all the action.
The signs can be a bit overwhelming at this particular station (B1, C2, C3… whatttt?) but don’t fret, you can always ask a station agent or a local.
Mong Kok ain’t named the busiest district in the world by the Guinness World Records for nothing. By far the craziest subway station you’ll ever visit… eh actually maybe Central during rush hour is the craziest. But definitely the craziest on the weekends :)
