We tried this relatively new Frankie and Benny’s this evening for dinner, as we had got an email from the company offering ten pounds off when you bought two courses or more. There is plenty of free parking at this restaurant, and the Boucher Crescent shops are nearby so you can have a day of shopping followed by food if you wish. I went for New York Chicken(chicken breast topped with bacon, cheese &BBQ sauce, served with onion rings, fries or mash, coleslaw and corn on the cob) — it was a good choice as it was very tasty and the portion was generous. My husband chose a bacon and cheese burger with a side of mash, however he wasn’t quite so lucky as his portion of mash was tiny! He did enjoy his food, but I gave him some of my mash as the tiny portion he got really wasn’t enough. We then went for some dessert to finish with — I chose salt caramel cheesecake(cheesecake topped with salt caramel sauce and chocolate covered honeycomb pieces, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream). It was really tasty. My husband enjoyed his cinnamon waffles with toffee crumb, butterscotch sauce, and ice cream. I did really enjoy my meal and the discount voucher was a bonus. Staff were friendly and helpful, however the service was a little slow and in between courses and when waiting for the bill, we found that we were waiting a long time. However, I would return as it may be just a one-off that it was quite slow or perhaps because it is new. Overall, it is worth a visit.
