As a vegetarian I often find Chinese takeaways over priced and lacking in options. Not so at red star. Lots of variety, fresh ingredients, quick delivery and not too pricey. The staff are helpfull and flexible too, if there’s any odd things you can’t eat :)

When somewhere is just a takeaway as opposed to a restaurant as well as normally they are cheaper. Red Star bucks the trend as it’s a bit more expensive than some of its competitors, when you have tasted the food though you know why. It is of a much higher standard than you get in some takeaways, no gelatinous gloop to be found here. Dishes taste freshly prepared and made with a little love.

Red Star is a fairly pricey Chinese, but a very, very good one.
It is easily the best place to get a Chinese on and around Street Lane, and it puts the other cheaper options to shame to be fair.
It has everything you’d expect from a good Chinese, and more, and the food is exceptionally well prepared. I can still taste the crispy duck I got from here, in a good way (not literally), and it was definitely worth paying a little extra for. Fast delivery too.
