Only been once when myself and my partner first moved to Paisley and have to admit, it was pretty damn good We had to take a break from unpacking, it was a nice day and we decided to go a walk and pit stop in somewhere that smelt good ., we were drawn in by the yummy smells from this very place. I think we must have caught the end of the lunch Buffett as there wasn’t lots of stuff there, but what was available was soooo good Staff were friendly enough and didn’t hover about checking up on us — I hate when places do that The chicken dishes were beautiful and the chicken wasn’t tough like it can be in some buffets Will defo be back a few more times, for Unilocal research purposes clearly lol

When my colleague promised me an all you can eat Indian buffet for £6 I was skeptical. I mean, how good could it actually be? Well, I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn’t hideous. I was even mopping my plate with naan. I dodged the Chinese buffet section(which also includes Thai food) and the pizza. It’s an Indian so I stuck with what they’re meant to do best. Pakoras — check Naan(two varieties) — check Flavoursome curries — check Spicy onions — check OK, it’s not the best curry you’re ever going to eat, but at £5.95 for a tasty all you can eat lunch it’s pretty darn good.

i had an evening out here last night with friends and thought the service was good. We had mentioned it was my partners birthday and at the end of the meal they brought over an ice-cream cake with candles on which I thought was a nice touch. It was busy when we first got there but by the end of the evening it had started to empty. We were not rushed at all and so had chance to really enjoy the good food. A good evening had by all.

I am always a bit wary when I walk into a restaurant during prime dinner hours(7pm) and find the restaurant completely void of patrons. No matter though… My co-worker and I braved an evening walk through the dark streets of Jonestown, Scotland to find this specific restaurant for its highly touted curries. Seriously though… How could I pass up curry? So, I ordered the Madras Lamb Curry with a sweet raisin naan bread. You would think that being the only guests in the restaurant the food would arrive quickly. In fact, it was just the opposite. I suppose they had to go catch the lamb out back for our meal. Regardless, after about an hour of waiting and several glasses of India’s finest Viper beer, the food finally arrived. The curry was supposedly on the spicier side, but seemed more on the mild side to me. Perhaps a 4 on the 1 — 10 scale, 10 being extremely spicy. The curry was in a thick tomato based paste with lamb chunks hidden within the gravy. It wasn’t all that great to me. What saved the meal was the naan bread. I don’t know what it is about warm fresh flat bread that makes everything taste better, but I certainly made quick work of the bread and had it devoured in minutes. The décor of the restaurant was a strange choice of pastel pink with a splash of Indian-like artifacts strewn randomly about the wall. Shimla house definitely would not be the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever dined at, but has certainly earned its place as the most peculiar Indian restaurant I had the pleasure of visiting.
