The Last Post is a pleasant Wetherspoons, which has a good selection of local real ales and the standard selection of Wetherspoons meals. I enjoy an occasional vegetarian breakfast here every now and then, and have also sampled some of the meal deals which seem to be most reasonable portions and well presented. This branch of Wetherspoons is handy for Gilmour Street train station, and the town centre attractions. It always seems busy no matter whether it is breakfast time or late on a weekend, with family dining at the front of the pub, additional seating upstairs and in tables by the windows. Special mention for the décor(reflecting the old post office, photos and a Paisley pattern mural are on the walls) and the food tasting events(a newsletter for the pub said that once a month they have taster food events, and also ‘meet the brewer’ events where breweries will visit to offer tasters of their products and answer questions about how they are made).

The last post bar in Paisley is a JD Weatherspoon pub should be really called The last option. Filled with many of paisley unemployable & undateable’s. Highlights here are; *Sticky tables *Slow service *Stodgy food *Sticky floors The four deadly sins. Like all other JD Weatherspoon pubs they are usually cheap, I’d prefer to keep my money and head to a better pub in Glasgow.

A flying visit to what was standing room only. It feels unfair to blame them but it was a battle to the bar and rather claustrophobic, I suppose that’s a good thing from their popularity point of view but it didn’t enhance my visit. There was a gig being held beside the pub and I suspect this was to blame for the business, maybe or maybe not. I’ll need to make a return visit to judge it fairly

Beer is great and a wide selection of other drinks. However some of your staff bely the assertion that your a premier employer. Get them to smile and say please and thank you. It’s not difficult to be pleasant.

Is The Last Post caught in a time warp or is it just me. Old Granny mahogany tables, décor that went out with The Romans and, of course, bottom of the range food. Anyone under the illusion that a hot dog and a handful of chips placed on a lovely shiny square plate is good food needs to go lie down on a leather couch and get a good HEADCHECK into them.

Pros: proximity to the train station and friendly staff. Cons: the venue, food and drink. If we find outselves in the same situation again I think we will keep walking and find somewhere else.

The Last Post… Real last chance saloon of a place located right next to the train station. Not entirely sure if this is a Wetherspoons, but it feels like it. Cheap drinks, cheap stodgy grub and sticky carpets. Not really my kinda joint, but just an easy place for a pre /post train journey. Beer, burgers, carpets and schtuff…
