Gablerbräu

Delicious food and ambiance! We started our visit to Salzburg with dinner at Gabler Brau. They were very busy for a Thursday night. We enjoyed a level of comfort that set the tone for the entire stay.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. After being turned away from another restaurant nearby that couldn’t fit our group of seven, we were happily accommodated by cheerful staff. The ambiance is warm and pleasant and the décor is a mix of modern and traditional. We all ordered different dishes and everyone was very happy with their meal. My beef goulash was excellent, and my sister’s potato soup was a huge hit. Our server was attentive and very kind. We left completely satisfied and in good spirits.

Das Gablerbräu sprach uns von außen sehr an, ein großes Lokal, gemütlich eingerichtet und die Speisekarte kann sich sehen lassen! Es befindet sich neben dem Star Inn Hotel, gehört auch wsl zu diesem.
Mein Freund blieb an diesem Tag beim Wein, ich wollte — trotz *hust* Alkpause das hauseigene Bier «probieren» — also bestellte ich mir erst mal ein kleines Gabler. Fand es sehr lecker, kennt ihr das, wenn ihr einige Zeit keinen Alkohol getrunken habt und es auf einmal noch viel besser schmeckt als in eurer Erinnerung? Tja, so war es bei mir. Gott ist Bier lecker!
Dazu gab es bei meinem Freund die obligatorische Frittatensuppe und einmal Saibling im Ganzen gebraten mit Petersilerdäpfeln, ich entschied mich — super gesund und figurbewusst unterwegs– für den «Gabler Burger» ^^ mit faschiertem Rindfleisch, Pommes und zwei pikanten Saucen. So stand es in der Karte, der Burger war lecker, hat mich allerdings nicht umgehauen. Die zwei pikanten Saucen waren Salsa und Sour Cream, zweitere auf jeden Fall frisch zubereitet, das hat man auch geschmeckt. Die Pommes haben auch großartig geschmeckt, waren so Riffle-​Chips, yummy! Hätte es aber noch geiler mit Käse gefunden ;)
Ich wollte dann natürlich auch noch ein zweites Bier, leider war das Gabler aus, die freundliche Bedienung empfahl mir daraufhin ein «Bernstein» vom Fass, und ich empfehle es euch hiermit weiter! Ich fand es sehr speziell und aber im positiven Sinn — sehr kräftig, nicht süß aber so bisschen karamellig, auf jeden Fall unglaublich intensiv im Geschmack.
Alles in allem: THUMBS UP! Bei den 3 Lokalen, die wir besucht haben, ist dieses hier mein Favorit gewesen :) Auch die Bedienung konnte punkten.

Das Personal war freundlich, das Bier und das Essen war 1A. Wir gehen auf jeden Fall noch einmal hin. Die Preise sind für Salzburg (Touristenmeile) normal hoch, wenn aber der Service und das Essen paßt, dann zahlt man es gerne. TIP: Wenn es Wildschwein gibt, unbedingt essen!!!

We didn’t like the same service at all.
It took them a lot of time to bring our food, so some of us had already finished eating by the time some just started.
Cappuccino isn’t tasty and food is obviously overpriced.

Etwas ausserhalb der Haupttouristenströme gelegen, aber in tadellosem Zustand.
Habe an einem schönem Tag draussen (etwas entfernt vom Gebäude) gegessen und es hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Es war eine Salzburger Nocke zum Mittagessen.
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und Hut ab für die Wege, die diese vor allem im Aussenbereich zurücklegen müssen.

This early century brewery had been remodeled into a friendly hotel and fantastic traditional Austrian restaurant. Most of the original woodwork and the ceramic hearth had been retained and the rather big restaurant are perfect for any big event or intimate gathering. The traditional dishes were fantastic and the new world touch of the fresh salad is mouth watering good! Make sure you also try the soufflé.

Very nice place. Staff it is friendly and very helpful. I arrive here on kitchen’s closing time (at 10:00 pm, exactly on the clock) and they didn’t hesitate to prepare the dinner. To keep it short, 5 stars with a big smile…

Food was delicious, waiter was nice and attentive. The interior was very nice and clean. My daughter said the schnitzel was excellent. The asparagus soup was excellent and very tasty. We highly recommend this restaurant.

It is indeed a very good place to try out traditional Viennese dishes, like the boiled beef, apple strudel. Beer is awesome too.
It is not as pricey as you think for a fine place. Worth to give a try.

Amazing food, fast service, lots of tables (three levels and outside), busy atmosphere, reasonable prices, friendly staff, traditional features… Cannot fault it at all! Would definitely come back here next time I’m in Salzburg!

Hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Die Küche ist traditionell österreichisch, was aber zum Lokal passt. Das Bier schmeckt udn man will mehr davon, aber auch die Weinkarte ist gut und vielfältig. Der Service passt. Ein gelungener Abend.

Auch wenn die Beschreibung von vegetarischen Essen auf der Außenkarte leicht spöttisch klingt, haben wir uns zum Essen reingewagt: Prima, frisch und mehr als lecker! Allerdings zeigt sich das auch im Preis. Das Restaurant ist bürgerlich eingerichtet, passt aber alles zusammen.
