A must try in Barcelona. Perfect balance between tradition, innovation and price. The service is very friendly. The only weakness may be the 100% Spanish wine cart. Try the Iberian pork(pluma)

As everyone else says, blackberry mojito is a must. We loved the paella and the scallops. I would recommend making reservations because the place is tiny and seems to be constantly busy. Highly recommended!

One of the top places to eat when I’m Barcelona. The owner and waiters are extremely friendly! My waiter was amazzzing. Very helpful and sweet, plus funny. Paella was delicious and full of flavor. Blueberry house cocktail is a pleasant surprise. Guaranteed to deliver a fun & flavorful dining experience.

This restaurant is simply amazing for its food! We decided to go there because it had great reviews for paella. But I was distracted and wanted to try other things on their menu. The drinks started off as a pleasant surprise. I ordered the recommended blackberry Mojito and it’s simply amazing! It has crushed berries on the bottom and tastes very fruity. Other friends who ordered wine were impressed as well. I ordered the lamb dish, and it’s very tender and melts in your mouth. The paella isn’t the traditional style but rather have their own twist. You can choose either seafood or meat version. The dessert was amazing! That’s probably my favorite part. The cookie is served in icecream on a bed of cream. Wow! On a side note, the restaurant has a small window on the floor. If you look down, there’s a skeleton on the bottom of it. I couldn’t quite figure out the meaning of it. But it’s pretty cool to see.

I cant tell you enough how much I loved this place. As soon as I walked in the staff was playful and cheerful dressed in al Capone attire and shooting fake guns. Once the waiter was so nice to seat us without a reservation(they were booked) we ordered their signature blueberry mojito. Went down so easy! We order the croquettes, octopus, scallops, and creamy duck rice. Everything was top notch and at a decent price. At the end they gave us a delicious free shot. One of the wait stuff suggested calling us a taxi and even waited with us and hailed it down! Top notch service and food!

Thisssss place man… Un-beh-lieeevable! Everything i had here was incredible — when it comes to both the service and the food. Lets talk about the service first. Our waitor was so warm, inviting and friendly. He gave wonderful recommendations and really spent the time to explain the food options. He even went as far as to print out recommendations for us to experience Flamenco(which we were asking his opinion on). Onto the food… It was extremely difficult to make a decision as everything on the menu sounded so delicious and different, i wanted it all. What i went with(seafood heavy) and would highly recommend: –Sea Bass –Octopus –Scallops –Chocolate Hazlenut Cookie A test tube bottle of extra virgin olive oil graces the table with a basket of bread and its amazing. This was the first time ive experienced EVOO being presented like this. Very cute :)

Very very nice food at Arume. Was there with three others, and between the four of us, we ordered quite a variety of things. The biggest favourite was most likely the duck paella-style rice. Obviously, most of the reviews here refer to paella– I’ll have to agree and say that the duck paella-style dish(as it wasn’t exactly a ‘paella’, but close enough) was out of this world. The suckling pig was also excellent, and my companions had an array of seafood items– including the king prawns and octopus. I think the only thing that was disliked out of our meal was the octopus. It was simply unremarkable. Everything else was so mindblowing that the octupus was wildly out of place. The service and chefs also seemed out of sync– we asked for everything to be brought out all at once(as two people only ordered various appetizers and the others ordered mains), but that didn’t work out. Not a big deal, but could be improved upon. Affordable wine, excellent cocktails(though they seemed to be reducing their cocktail list, which was disappointing). Would return, and am very keen to try more of their dishes.

Tasty and homey place in Barcelona. In contrast to the multitudes of tapas places here, this restaurant was a nice respite with its larger dishes. Not that I don’t like tapas, it’s just nice to have something that is a bit more incorporated and larger. Wait staff was good and friendly, and the manager visited and chatted with us about his knowledge of our old home(Seattle). We recommend it!

Pretty freaking exceptional. I went here twice, TWICE while in Barcelona because it’s that great. Don’t be thrown at all as your cab winds down the tiny side street because small paths lead to magical places. I was recommended this place by a friend who has lived in Barca for several years and I’m so glad she did. Service here is stellar, with engaging, wonderful friendly staff that feel like friends by the time you leave. The food is insane, from the ceviche(vamosss Walter!!), crispy Galician octopus, goat cheese and spinach croquettes to the paella that is just bursting with an abundance of fresh seafood. The first time I went with a group of 10 and I kid you not, we pretty much ordered the whole menu. The scallops were seared perfectly, the steak tartar was delicious, along with the extra creamy burrata salad. The king prawns were succulent and crispy, and the grilled artichokes added a nice earthy touch to the starters. Everyone couldn’t get over how much they enjoyed their sea bass, tuna, and veal, paella and lamb. Their drinks(caipis, wine, beer, chocolate grappa etc are all fantastic) and they have a perfectly curated cheese plate for dessert I couldn’t get enough of. Others raved about their sweet desserts as well. This is a must go place for me while I’m in Barca. Vegetarians ate here with me and were very pleased and it was very easy to make a reservation here via email!

After searching for the best paella online, I decided to come give this one a try. I almost couldn’t find it because I walked right past it the first time and had to double back and look harder. It’s a small unassuming front, but the inside has a really nice ambiance. It’s a bit small, so if you’re planning on eating here, either reserve or come early(I went around 7:15PM, a bit after opening). More than half the place was full when I left around 8PM. Anyway, I ordered(of course) the paella, and after doing so, I was given bread, a tube of olive oil, and olives. There was one piece of bread, and the olive oil was quite good, very olive-y. The olives were really salty, so I didn’t get around to eating them all until my paella arrived. My paella was delicious, and I’ve had some really good paella last time in Barcelona. The rice was perfectly cooked, and there was enough flavor from the seafood and the sauces. There was just the right amount of sauce so the rice wasn’t too wet nor too dry, and it was great. There were mussels, clams, squid, small shrimps, and two big shrimps. The big shrimps looked great, but they didn’t taste too good; the first one I had was a bit mushy, and the second one I had was almost mushy. The mussels were really soft and I’ve never had mussels like it before, and both the shells of the mussels and clams were full of flavor. It really was a great meal. Service was alright, and portions were okay. At € 14.50 a serving for paella, it’s a bit expensive, but the quality makes it worth it and I definitely got full after my meal. I would recommend this place, and I will be returning next time I come to Barcelona! [Side note: 900th review!!]

We found this place on Unilocal by looking for a paella place. Walked in on New Year’s Eve without a reservation. They had a set menu for the night and let us sit at the bar and tried their best to get us a table. Even though we couldn’t order paella, the meal was very good! The manager and staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially given that we did not have reservations and it was a holiday. The pacing of the meal was a little weird, as we waited about 20 – 30 minutes in between the 4th and 5th(out of 8) courses. I think the kitchen might have gotten backed up. For the most part, they timed it well and passed out champagne and grapes a little before midnight. As for the food: Foie Gras Mousse with apple, brioche, and litchi foam kind of weird but surprisingly tasty 4⁄5 Sea Scallops Tataki, sweet corn cream, basil oil, lime oil my favorite of the night. scallops were cooked perfectly and I loved the flavors 5⁄5 Poularde Ravioli, wild mushrooms, onion cumin sauce, sprouts delicious filling and great flavors 4.5÷5 Wild Sea Bass, truffled cauliflower purée and green cockles sauce and eggplants The green cockles sauce and eggplant on the side were not my favorite — just too many of my least favorite flavors — but the purée and the fish itself were wonderful. 3.5÷5 Iberian Pork Filet with artichokes and couscous The meat was a little overcooked and tough but was seasoned like an American pot roast. Couscous was also slightly under. The artichokes were a nice addition. 3⁄5 Pineapples in Mezcal The pineapples, despite being marinated in mezcal, were only slightly alcoholic and surprisingly delicious. 4⁄5 Tarta de Santiago almond cake, smoked cheese sauce, peach ice cream The cake was a tad dry for my taste, but I applauded the flavor combo of almonds, cheese, and fruit. 4⁄5 Come for the interesting food and great service. Thanks again to staff for a great last minute New Year’s Eve menu and evening!

Amazing service, excellent food, efficient turnaround time! We walked in around 8pm on a Saturday and they just managed to squeeze us in between reservations(seems like you might need it if you showed up any later). Black berry mojito was perfect and sweet to my liking. We got a bottle of water to share for the table. You get bread, olive oil in a cute little tube and olives to start for free! We specifically went here for the rave paella reviews. My parent loved the duck paella and seafood paella, though they particularly loved the duck depth of flavors. The paella is generous, you will be studded if you finish one. Veggie perspective– they have one option for entrees– I did the pumpkin lasagna with an egg on top and I loved it. Great flavors and very filling. We got some complimentary Spanish creamy drink to end– kinda like baileys, but it was the icing on the cake! Would definitely come back. Unilocalers– be careful when walking on the small streets to get to this place, a guy tried to grab my dads wallet in his back pocket on Carme street. Walk fast and keep your belongings on view– do not talk to anyone.

The last(and best) meal I had in Barcelona was here at Arume. I’d actually gotten a reservation at Tickets but decided to cancel because Arume seemed A) more satisfying and B) less expensive and I had zero regrets! The blackberry mojito is deliciously sweet and beautiful – my bf liked it so much he drank most of mine :) Then we had the burrata appetizer with strawberries, guacamole, and hazelnuts which seemed like an odd combination at first but was wonderful. I loved the crunch of the hazelnuts and the sweetness of the strawberries. Also, the semi-marinated salmon dish which I also remember as being quite delicious. For entrees, the bf had lamb and I had the seafood paella. AMAZING. An abundance of seafood and flavor. I can’t ask for anything more in a paella, really. We were pretty full but went for the«La torrija de Manuel» for dessert anyway. Not my favorite but pretty good nevertheless. Honestly, a pretty perfect meal. I’d go again in a heartbeat(if I were in Barcelona!)

Sister restaurant to Cera 23 — I really loved my dinner here. We were a group of 5 and all shared a variety of plates. Actually, Injae K has the details — go check out his review… by reading his review, I was able to relive the memories. Now I’m hungry again. And yes, at 30 Euros each — the meal was totally affordable considering how much we ordered(and drank). My personal favorite was the duck paella. Great service, too.

On our visit to Barcelona, we were very lucky to wine and dine in this fine establishment. Every dish that came out did not disappoint. 2 bottles of Rose, 2 bottles of Tempranillo, 4 appetizers to share, and 2 paellas to share, amongst 5 diners, was about 150 Euros! Do the math it was only about 30 Euros per person. And we were all very satisfied. For appetizers we ordered the steak tartare, shrimp, octopus, and goat cheese croquettas. The tartare was so flavorful, except I wish there was a yolk I could mix in myself. The octo was so tender and it came with some kind of avocado foam. The shrimp and croquettes were delish as well, they also brought out a basket of bread with olives and a cute vile of olive oil, clever. We also ordered a duck paellas and a seafood paella, both amazing, but I have to say that the duck was the most popular among our group of diners. One thing is, I wish I got more of the burnt rice on the bottom of pan, it was lacking. But not lacking of flavor, so good. The staff was very cheerful, attentive, and so nice. We did not order any dessert, although tempted, we had no room for another bite in our bellies. But staff was so sweet, they brought us a white chocolate liqueur to finish our meal. I hope to come back again, great job to the chef, cooks, and staff! P. S. It’s hard to get them to answer the phone to make reservations, but try and try again. I finally got them on the phone after the 10th time, lol!

ANABSOLUTEGEM! EARNSITS5STARREVIEWS!!! We went there for dinner just before 8, and thankfully had reservations because this restaurant fills up. The staff was very courteous and all played with our 2 year old even though they were super busy. The food, however, is truly the star of the experience. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. Right off the bat, the olives served before the meal set the tone. An incredible assortment of Spanish black and green olives each more delicious than the other(we ordered seconds of that too :)) We selected the ceviche and scallops as our entrees and the paella(for 2) as our mains. Without question, the best tapas we have ever had. Hallelujah! Perfectly cooked scallops with a killer sauce, and the most flavorful and refreshing ceviche that had layers of flavor even in its simplicity. If it was even possible, the paella was even better than the tapas. We were just blown away by the freshness and seasoning of the seafood, and the perfectly cooked rice(that tasted like the ocean) to accompany it. Even the color of the paella was incredibly appetizing(see our pics). Our bill for the dinner was about € 60 without alcohol. Very reasonable for the seafood we ate, and a steal considering the skill of the chef/kitchen. We will be going back to this restaurant again in a day or so.

What can I add that he previous reviewers have not already said? Arume was truly a highlight of my trip and had some of the most memorable food. The grilled octopus was accompanied by a seaweed and garbanzo bean sauce. Each bite was a delicate softness that released savory goodness. Amazing. The seafood paella came with big, juicy prawns that were tender. Admittedly, the trek out to his restaurant is somewhat out of the way and not in the most clean area of the city, but do not fear. Your path is clear and will reward your efforts. Your hosts will seat you and answer all your questions. They will suggest truly great wines to pair with your food choices. Every bite was delicious. Seriously. I would very easily highly recommend Arume to any traveller. I hope you make it out there and enjoy the food as much as I did!
