Prices are so low, but flavors are bleak. Rather pay a bit more for Quimet & quimet, which was awesome! I tried the shrimp, calamari and potato pancake. Wouldn’t recommend any of them actually.

Pinchos(open faced sandwiches) are a tradition in Spain that originated in the Basque country. Like any food, these snacks have evolved over the years and you can now find toppings that range from more traditional tortilla and fish to more modern chicken wings and hamburger patties. The street that this restaurant is on(named Blai, of course) is frequented by mostly young locals, so it makes sense that most of the street’s bars cater to them. Blai 9 is all the way on the modern end of the spectrum, and while they serve a few traditional pinchos, most of their dishes are big, beautiful, and very contemporary. The experience was very enjoyable, and the food was good(but not great). Beer was well priced(but there is cheaper), and service was very quick. If you find yourself in this part of Barcelona, head over to Blai 9 and give their modern twist on this old dish a try!

Sangria was my water in Barcelona. Seriously. I drank at least a pitcher of sangria every day… well shared a pitcher, those were good days. But, some days we did 2 pitchers a day. Those were great days. So after an amazing dinner up the street, we ended up here for dessert. Dessert in liquid form. Sweet, sweet dessert. Ok, it was wine with sugar. But it was the best kind of dessert you could ask for and at € 10 for a liter, I call that a deal. The sangria was solid. The pitcher came with two small glasses, and we posted up by the window at a little table/bar setup. Smooth, sweet and stacked with chunks of fresh fruits. Getting a seat by the window offered up some awesome people watching while we sipped away. The staff was super friendly a and the bites looked really good, but we were stuffed.

This place came recommended and what a treat it was! We went on a Saturday night and it was packed(full of locals — the first good sign!). It serves pinchos(akin to small tapas). Each plate costs either € 1/1.50. They were delicious! There was loads to choose from, both sweet and savoury. Plenty of wine and pinchos later we left with three happy full bellies!

A cute, fun, and dare I say hip little place to grab a jug of sangria and some pintxos. Lots of younger clientele there, but there was also a large family that stopped by — so I guess the crowd was pretty mixed. I liked the sangria — it was light with plenty of fruits, and the pintxos themselves were delicious. As someone who’s used to the US where they dump cheese in everything, I was really happy that this wasn’t the case here. They had mini burrito-like pintxos and shrimp on mini«pancakes». The little churros were amazing because they were filled with warm chocolate on the inside, and had flavored chocolate shavings were a nice treat. Would 100% recommend.

It was supposed to open at noon, but when I asked, was told 15 more minutes. Food was beautiful and tasted good. Nice atmosphere, beautiful decore and clean. Staff was not the friendliest, perhaps he was still getting ready to open the restaurant for lunch & was preoccupied.

Been here multiple times, never disappoints! Great for an afterwork get together! In the summer it is packed immediately but still in a good way cause it’s in a pedestrian street only, so it has great atmosphere and people meet up there but not for too long. So one way or another you always find a spot, unless you’re with a big group

Ehh… I really wouldn’t recommend eating here unless you have an expansive palette. The sangria was watery and only came by the liter… what’s waste of money. If you sit at the bar, expect for people to reach over you all night to get fresh tapas. This is a self serve/eat what we have tonight type of restaurant.

This restaurant was so charming and the tapas were delicious and very affordable ! The woman working behind the bar was really cool and helpful in revealing some of the mystery behind our choices(we still selected quite a bit at random and enjoyed the surprise)! Definitely a fun place to try :) we will be back for more!

We visited Blai9 on our Tapas tour and loved the incredible works of food art on offer. We could only choose 3 on our tour which was so hard — I wanted to try them all! Highly recommended.

Best pinchas(tapas) you can get in Poble Sec! pretty good selection, I like the ones with the chorizo on top, and their kitchen runners are always working to backfill the popular items. Dessert was almost too sweet, however the churros are excellent! small place, always crowded, but good hosts and servers, and the Moritz Beers are cold!

Art meets food. This little hole in the wall tapas bar has managed to make food that delights the eye while sacrificing none of the flavor. The waiter was delightful, kind, and spoke English. Each bite of art was a pairing of flavors I have never experienced before and delicious! They also have AC inside, which is a welcome reprive from the noon day heat.

Lovely little place on Carrer Blai that proudly serves artistic pinchos(or pintxos). The people who run this place are really open to talking to non-locals and are more than happy to recommend other places in the area. Pinchos tend to be cheaper than tapas, so it was definitely a pleasant surprise to know that the bites here were extremely affordable, about 1 € and 1.5 € depending on which plates you got. The pinchos with jamón were in my opinion, the best. Other tapas weren’t quite as good, but for that price — you’re getting quite the bang out of your Euro.

¿Alguna vez te has sentido«ninguneado»?

We tried to come here for tapas our first night in Barcelona and it was late so they were only serving drinks. Other tapas bars had food so we went elsewhere. Tonight we arrived early and the tapas was great! They even have vermouth on tap! Most of the items are served in little cups indicating their price and none of them are on bread, but little blinis and crepes. They have the best presentation of any bar on Blai. It filled up quickly and it’s one of the harder places to get a spot on the patio.

This place is the best place for tapas! I stumbled upon this place, and I recalled my airbnb host recommending this place to me, so I decided to go in, which ended up being the best decision of my night! The sangria is AMAZING and all of the tapas are so tasty! It was 1 € for the clear plate tapas and 1.5 € for the black plate tapas. My boyfriend and I shared ½ liters of sangria and 18ish plates and it came to a total of 27 €, which isn’t bad split between 2 people and extremely filling! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic tasty tapas in a relaxed environment, and delicious sangria :)

We came here accidently while aiming to go to another place with a similar name. we were instantly attracted to the colorful, attractive presentation of the food. this place prices items by the bowls and not by the number of toothpicks. at the end it felt like we ate a lot of fried food in the shape of an egg roll. the mini pancakes were cute but bland. the flavors were all monotone across the pinchos. I can’t remember if I liked anything particular. in the end it was pretty food but not necessarily satisfying.

Super yummy tapas! Cheap, 1 – 2 € per dish. Tasty mojitos too, and helpful staff. Generally crowded with a mix of locals and tourists, but lots of places to sit or stand with a plate and drink. The dishes are not always labeled, but feel free to ask the staff. Bathrooms are surprisingly clean for such a busy place, which is always a pleasant surprise. Try the quiche on the mini-blini! Omnomnom.

Can’t agree more with the other Unilocaler here! I too don’t understand why this place haven’t gotten more review or notice on Unilocal! We ran into Blai 9 accidentally after our failed attempt to Quimet & Quimet, but was 100% surprised and satisfied for the delicious and creative pintxos and drinks we got from here! All pinxtos costs 1 – 1.5 euro and a big jar of Sangria(the best I’ve had during my trip in Barcelona by the way) cost less than 10 euro I think(can’t really remember the exact price but was surprisingly inexpensive)

Do not understand why this magnificent place have not received yet hundred 5* reviews. It is extremely good! The Carrer Blai has a lot of cool pintxos places, even the famous Quimet y Quimet is in the neighbourhood, but Blai 9 overcomes all the expectations. We have been there 3 times in our short 5 days trip and would like to come back there again and again. The staff is super friendly, interior is well designed, food is creative and tasty. All pinxtos on white plates costs 1 euro, on a black — 1,5 euro. A glass of wine — 1,5 euro, a bit less for beer as well. The cool detail about this food-bar is that pintxos here are not on the baguette bread, but on small tasty pancakes. All pintxos are very creative and real piece of art, and a real festival of tastes in the mouth. The whole atmosphere is very warm and just right, strongly recommend to everyone!
