Amazing cheap eat tapas and wine! We were so super stuffed after sharing 25 tapas and a few drinks amongst the 3 girls.

My favorite pintxos bar in Barcelona! Located on a street of similar restaurants, this one really sticks out! From its simple and well designed décor to its ample display of pinchos. Everytime I have gone throughout the day, it has always been busy, if not packed! 1 € for each pinchos and caña is a super deal. I don’t always know what’s on the stick, but it never disappoints!

This was the first place we went to in Barcelona and loved it. This was our first time experiencing the local tapas/pintxos and it was kind of exciting. You walk up and grab pintxos on toothpicks or if you can grab a seat you can order off the tapas menu. We ordered patatas bravas which we enjoyed and the pintxos were excellent.

Cheap and they have great food and prices! They have an English menu. I also think Unilocal is nonsense and make sure you read through reviews and make your own assumptions. I don’t trust Unilocal except to find where the free wifi is…

My favourite pintxos bar in Barcelona! It is awfully crowded very often but the variety of the tapasa(pintxos) is great! Service is not so great but it is almost self-service so this is not so important :) The place is small so it is not recommended for large groups(more than 4 – 6 people).

Not the first pintxo place to visit, unfortunately, but so far the best and most reasonably priced. All pintxos are $ 1 and the ones with red toothpicks at $ 1.80. Compare that to the touristy pintxo restaurants where each pintxo is about $ 2. Slightly dissapointed about the sangria due to the fact that they add extra table sugar at the bottom on the glass. The sangria itself tasted good but as you get closer to the end it gets sweeter and sweeter. Each large glass us $ 3. The small beer glass is $ 1. Relatively small bar with few tables. Great atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Delicious pintxos! Worth another trip back or two!

So many selections for tapas dishes. We came here around 9pm and it was ridiculously packed. You have to fight your way in to get a table. The food wasn’t bad for tapas either. It was definitely one of the better places. Service wasnt that great, but then again it was so hard to hear anything in there.

This was our first & last meal in Barcelona– a nearly picture perfect experience. Such a great value for really tasty, great food. Must try once, at least. They had almost the same spread of pintxos both times, which was great because we knew what we preferred the second go around but it might have been nice to have a little more variety to try some new things. Not really a complaint though, there are so many to choose from. The soft cheese and raspberry jam with mint– pleasure explosion for my mouth & brain! I really think this was what brought me back for the second visit. Their fried prawn/shrimp pintxos were my second favs. I will say that I did not care for the slider pintxos– they lose appeal and flavor after they sit out as long as they do… and if Americans don’t have standards for sliders, what else is left… I was awestruck the first visit. The second visit, I couldn’t help but notice the obvious in what happens to food when it sits out for a bit, which is that it gets cold and loses some of its life. But it is what it is, doesn’t bother me much for giant bites of variety for 2 euro each. This is my favorite style of eating– little bits of different things, and delicious cheap beer and Spanish wine. How can you go wrong with a perfect glass of Rose for 3 euro to complement the smörgåsbord?

I was only in Barcelona for two days, and I went here both days because it was just that good. If you’re the sort of person who enjoys tasting a variety of different options, but doing so affordably, this is the best place in Barcelona. In fact, this was my favorite place to eat in Barcelona period. Aside from the specially marked items(as designated by a different color toothpick), all the pintxos are 1 euro. ONEEURO for a rotation selection of 30+ items, all served on a piece of toast as a vessel for the delicious ingredients on top. And you have great variety, from various different types of fritters and sausages, to brie and fish combinations, to eggplant dishes. They even have dessert pintxos running at the same price; Where else can you get tiramisu, profiteroles, or crème brûlée for a euro each? And the turnover on these dishes is fast enough that you will generally get fresh pintxos whenever you stop by. Keep in mind this place gets packed, and for good reason. You’ll grab a plate, self-serve and grab as many as you want, and then head back to the front to pay(they charge you by counting toothpicks). The service here is impeccable too. Had one friend who was gluten free, and when she told them the Head chef specifically remade all the dishes she requested, to cater to her dietary restrictions. Tl;dr. 1 Euro Pintxos. Great crowd. Get full of 5 euros, or be like me and drop 25 attempting to try everything. GOHERE.

We actually ate at La Esquinita which appears is the sister restaurant across the street from La Tasqueta de Blai which the kitchens may be shared. In the El Poble-Sec neighborhood is a small bar and tapas joint that has tables out in the pedestrian area. It was the end of February and in the low 60’s so we were very comfortable sitting out there, but many locals were not. I went with my normal drink of choice in Barcelona, which is a Gin & Tonic. While Shelly ordered a hand-made Sangria. Both drinks were refreshing after walking around most of the day. Then, like most places I dove right into the tapas. Shelly and I split a total of 6 tapas — a nice late afternoon snack. We enjoyed: cream cheese and salmon covered in balsamic, a pureed potato mix with sesame seeds on top, spicy salami with a pepper, turkey with fresh mozzarella and paprika, jamon with gouda, and a spicy sausage all were on top of a slice of baguette. These were all really good. Besides all of the great drink and food, we were able to people watch since we were in the middle of a pedestrian street. Also, there was free wi-fi available so we could get in touch with family and friends. For more information and pictures check out our site:

We ate here a few times during our stay in Barcelona. The staff were all very friendly, spoke enough English for us to have no trouble ordering and the food was great! Most pintxos are 1 euro or a little more if they’re fancier and I loved each one I tried! When you’re done they count up your sticks to give you your bill. In the evening this place gets packed so get there earlier to ensure you get a spot. This place is a must visit if you’re in the area and want some tasty food on a budget!

The first thing that anyone should know about this place before they make a decision to come here is that it’s targeted at young people. This is both a good thing and a bad thing. Good in that it’s very fun for young people to mix and mingle, and also eat as many 1 € pinchos and drink as many 3 € sangrias as they’d like. Bad in that this place is kind of awkward for older people who perhaps might be looking for a more refined place to get pinchos or tapas. Objectively speaking, La Tasqueta de Blai serves very cheap and very good(especially for the price) pinchos and drinks. The staff here is really fun and they all dance to whatever American pop song is playing. I hate to say this, especially with all of the rave reviews, but La Tasqueta de Blai isn’t quite my cup of tea. Sure, the pinchos were good but not great. You definitely get more than what you pay for, but I felt like the pinchos were slightly Americanized and the place itself was somewhat touristy.

My absolute favorite bar in Barcelona. Very young ambiance and crowd. Loved the different montaditos they have available. It was so good I could hardly stop going for more. And yes, you won’t know what you’re biting into most of the time, but it will be delicious. When you go, don’t seat at the bar, instead wait a few minutes for a table. Don’t get discouraged, the place looks packed, but there is a lot of movement and you should find a place to sit fairly quick. Also, don’t be afraid to share a table, it creates great opportunities to meet very interesting people from all over the world. By far the best tasting, less expensive place in Barcelona. Take your time, meet some people and enjoy the great food.

It has been two years(?! so sad) since I visited La Tasqueta de Blai and I still dream about it. If I could teleport anywhere in the world right now, it would be back to Barcelona to visit this little restaurant. The pinxtos are all fantastic– you just go up to the bar & grab what looks good(everything), at the end of your meal they count up the toothpicks & you pay 1 euro/pinxto– such a great deal. The drinks are excellent as well– my friends and I tried their sangria and mojito and agreed they were among the best we had on our trip. We went on a late week-night and the place was pretty packed(it’s easy to see why) and seemed to be frequented by a lot of local neighborhood people. The staff was really friendly, and no worries if you can’t speak Catalan/Spanish well– gesturing goes a long way :)

Found on Unilocal and what a find!!! Spent the day walking around all the sites on Montjuic and were starved so finding this place was particularly appropriate to get lots of food. Well for a bit of a foodie and picky person I was beyond impressed. Everything was brought out on trays one after the other totally fresh made from the back and beyond delicious. My husband let me do all the picking and I found three salmon, three vege, three meat and cheese mixtures and two stuffed croquet. The cava was outstanding and the Volle Damm beer was great too. We got lucky because we came pretty early so even though it was busy when we got there it slowed down. By the time we left a couple of hours later it was packed again. Offered to share our table with two women who turned out to be out for St Gordi day(like Valentine’s Day). Got a great suggestion to go to Sitges. Going there today!

This place is fantastic! Our hotel was in the central tourist area so all the restaurants there were pretty expensive compared to the ones we’ve seen in Madrid. I found this awesome establishment on Unilocal and it was only about a 15 minute walk away from our hotel. It was far enough from the tourist area, but close enough for walking distance. When we walked in, there was a smörgåsbord of pintxos! AND the price was right! It was 1 euro per pintxos which is cheap and the drinks were cheap too! I had their house wine which was only 1.20 euro and it was tasty. They had all kinds of pintxos, but my favorite ones were the ones with sausage because it was packed with flavor. Best meal for your euro!

This place is a hidden gem in Barcelona! It’s close to the Paral-lel station, on 17 Calle Blai, which is further away from most tourist areas and halfway up a little hilly street. This place was recommended to us by our walking tour guide, so thank you Miguel! When we got there on a Tuesday night the place was absolutely packed with a very varied crowd, but we managed to get three seats by the corner of the bar. The place had a huge variety of small tapas; there were meats, veggie options, and desserts, with each dish being only 1 euro! Beers were about 1.60 and a glass of cava(sparking wine) was 1.50 — such a steal! Honestly, the concept was just so genius and it was such a fun and unique experience, and the atmosphere was so lively, but also really laid back. Maybe it was because we were seated right by the bar, but the service was great and super attentive, refilling our drinks right on cue and offering clean plates at just the right time. Highly, highly recommend checking this place out, and I wish we had something like this in Toronto! We ended up paying about 15 euros each($ 22CAD) for about 7 – 8 tapas, 2 drinks(beer/wine), and 2 tequila shots per person, which was not bad at all! Great place to enjoy some super cheap food and get a little bit tipsy on a budget: P Plus you get to experience some local Barcelona life. Honestly the entire street where this place is located is super cool and lively, with tons of people just sitting out on patios chilling and eating even at 10PM at night!

¡faltar no faltan! ¿me llegará? El servicio. Cercano, atento, familiar, sólo desbordado en algunos momentos. El precio. ¡Insuperable! ¡No defraudará!
