Cat Bar

Finally got the chance to stop by and grab a burger here 30 minutes before closing! They have live music on the first floor and seating in both levels. I had the Champion burger and my friend had the hemp burger. I wish I ordered another burger. My friend’s hemp burger was so juicy and flavorful! My burger was ordinary but still very satisfying. The burger was huge for the price and I had to resist finishing it. It was NOT easy. I was excited to eat it for breakfast and it was still great!

My husband and I had our first meals in Spain here and were pleasantly surprised by how tasty his champion burger, my crazy burger and the patates braves were. I normally don’t care for ciders but really enjoyed the one I had here. We had a late lunch on a Friday afternoon here, so it wasn’t busy at all. The prices are reasonable and the service is excellent.

Great vegan burgers and craft beer! I had the Champion veggie burger and the wife had the Crazy nut-​based burger. Both were excellent! The menu comes in English and the waitress/​bartender was very helpful. They let you try small samples of the craft beer if you are not sure what to get. We would definitely come back again and it’s definitely worth checking out!

I like cats and vegan food. Put them together and you get the Cat Bar. Just so you know, there’s no actual cats here. The space is tiny so if they’re full, they don’t allow people to come in. That was the case for us on our last night in Barcelona, but a large group left and we were let in. My boyfriend ordered the spicy Mexican vegan burger (not spicy at all but still good) with patatas bravas and I had the special which came with a pumpkin buttersquash soup and a mixed greens and beet salad. So good. We topped it off with a beer as well.

De todas las hamburguesas vegetarianas que he probado en Barcelona esta es sin duda mi favorita. Y además es veganaaaaaaa.
Un día después de clase de baile en el Centro Cívico Pati Llimona mi amiga Teresa y yo fuimos a tomar un par de vinos y nos entró hambre. Ella es vegana y me propuso ir a este bar. Me dijo…“es un baretillo, ¿eh?”. Me preparó porque estábamos acostumbradas a ir juntas a sitios super cuqui siempre como el Flax & Kale, el bar Cometa y claro este sitio no tiene una decoración cuidada ni una gran estrategia de marketing como estos otros dos establecimientos que acabo de mencionar (que también adoro, por cierto).
Pues que no os eche para atrás su look cutrecillo o salvaje de pub ingles. Este bar está siempre lleno porque el dueño y todo su staff son LO MÁS. Buen sentido del humor, buen servicio y sobre todo DELICIOSA COMIDA. Además si te gusta la cerveza, será tu sitio ideal para un almuerzo o cena 100% vegetal. Yo probé la hamburguesa champion y cuando vuelva me la volveré a pedir porque estaba BRUTAL. ¡Y no dejéis de pedir patatas bravas! De las mejores de Barcelona para mi gusto.

Came in alone on a Monday night for a quick bite. The vibe is really lively, with lots of young and older people talking different languages and trying out the great beer selection (yet not touristy!). The barwoman was really knowledgable about the beers they carry and all the staff is super friendly.
THE BURGER (I had the Champion for 6.5e), was delicious. No condiments needed, the patty naturally juicy, the mushrooms melting in your mouth… I’ll probably go back just to check out their other burgers, which also sounded pretty mouth-​watering.

Hands down probably one of the better vegan burgers I have tried ever !!! In the states, I feel as if the vegan burger patties just don’t match up to the thick, tasty patty you get here. The beet gazpacho soup was to die for (reminded me of my grandparent’s cooking) and the patatas bravas were delish! The beer selection was quite great especially since they had a nice strong 9% on the menu!
As mentioned before there really isn’t much of a selection but you are coming here for a burger — not an 8 course meal!
Keep doing your thing Cat Bar — love the funkiness you have going on here :)

This is the best bar ever!!! Staff is friendly. There are a variety of tap beers available which we didn’t find elsewhere in the city. This was my favorite place in Barcelona. We didn’t eat but the food looked good. Great ambiance.

This review would probably be more like a 3 ½ but I’ll give them the benefit. The live music was great! I got the hemp burger and it was pretty good. I thought the hummus was bland and probably wouldn’t get it again. Cute little place that I would probably go back to if I was in Barcelona again.

I went to the cat bar for lunch (I could not enter the crowded place the night before) and I had a nice experience !
the vegan burgers are good but not amazing: I had the beans burger and my friend has the mexican burger which was quite spicy. The steaks were tasty but the bread was really disappointing: dry and a bit crumbly. After two bites you can not grab it properly in your hands. The topping is okay and I did not try the fries. In a word: the only tasty thing is the yummy steak. The choice is not huge either: 5 kinds of burger and thats it.
I really liked the place though: everything is made from second-​hand items. The tables come from ancient sewing machine, the lampshades are made from forks or strainers. The all atmosphere is very welcoming and I love the fact they offer glass bottle instead of plastic bottle like everywhere else in Barcelona !!
I better go back for the beer bar at night !

Awesome beer, service and location! However it was hot AF inside this place and the door was closed the whole time. It shouldn’t be warmer inside than outside on a nice fall night.

A really, really nice an cosy place to eat, drink and listen to some live jam music (Dudes playing the piano and a guitar). They only had Burgers, but an wide range of beers.
I recommend the «Black Cat» (Been Burger) with a cerveza of your choice.

Tasty spot! I just grabbed a beer and a quick tapa. They have a variety of different beers from all over Spain and some from other parts of Europe. The beer I had was delicious, it was a Spanish one, I can’t remember the name of. We had some potatoes with a spicy sauce. They were very tasty. The bar itself is very cute, very eclectic and pretty hipster.

Great bar, great beers on tap with terrific ambience and incredible vegetarian food!

I am a cat person. I am a burger person. I am a fries person. I am, however, not a vegan person.
BUT!
Tucked down a small street in lovely old Barca, this place managed to win me over… and not just with the free wifi. Cat Bar had one of the best vegan/​vegetarian burgers I’ve ever tasted. I had the champion burger, which was only 6.50 EUR and hu-​u-​u-​u-​ge. While it didn’t taste like meat per se (usually one of my requirements for a good veggie burger), it was enormously flavorful and satisfying. My friends and I also shared the potatoes, which came with spicy brava sauce that we also loved.
You have to like their Facebook page in order to get the free wifi, which definitely raised a few eyebrows when this came up on my friends’ newsfeeds. Their posts, however, are wildly entertaining. I have not unliked them to this day.

The service is very friendly. You only can order veggie burgers but they are OK. Chips are better and they have a great choice in beers.

One of the meatiest-​feeling veggie burgers I’ve had. The Mexican burger wasn’t as spicy as I’d hoped, but I was full for 7 hours! The roll was way too big for the burger and a little stale. The brava sauce here didn’t have a spicy ketchup feel like other places in Barcelona — it was more like mayo and hot sauce mixed together.
Yes, there *is* cat décor all over the walls (^._.^)ﾉ
The porter was one of the best I’ve tasted. I wish they sold it in growlers.

We got burgers, bravas and beers and everything was ok. Not the best vegan burger in Barcelona but give them a try if you’re in Born. Was warm inside and took a while to get a few things but other than that service was decent.

Disclaimer: I am a non-​vegan/​non-​vegetarian but I am friends with people who are, thus, I try out all the places they recommend.
The burgers, fries and hummus are excellent! I will definitely eat here again.
Also, probably the best place I’ve seen with craft beer in Barcelona in the 9+ months I’ve been living here. Prices are more to American standards for beers, but it is definitely worth it! Occiasonally, there is even live music from some hippies in the back! Very good atmosphere. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because I’m a student and on that kind of a budget, I can’t really afford to come here that often, sadly.
Good Food, Good Beer, Great Ambience & Free wifi too = Win Win Win Win!

Parfait pour les végétariens et leurs amis qui né le sont pas ! C’est Vegas mais le goût est là ! Super ambiance, veggie burger à tomber, prix plus que raisonnables.

I feel four stars covers this bar appropriately. Being vegan and coming to Barcelona, I had to do a bit of research to find the spots where I could eat. After finding a place that serves vegan friendly burgers + craft beer, all boxes were ticked.
My girlfriend (who is a meat eater) + I had a champion burger each with a side of chipped potatoes. I chose an Austrian IPA + my girlfriend had a cider. The burger was huge in a lovely bun, a smokey flavour and filling. The potatoes were insane– super soft + very hot (straight from the oven)!
Only two things really bothered us on this visit: —
1) no condiments were offered with our meal. It would have been great to add hot sauce or extra veganaise to our burgers! Particularly needed sauce for those potatoes– we ate them dry. Would’ve been much better with something to dip them in!
2) tiny saucer plates for the burgers + no napkins! I’m sorry, but burgers that big with no cutlery, no plate space or napkins is not good! These guys definitely need to simply provide a bigger plate, napkins, cutlery (to clean up burger spillage for reconsumption!) and tasty condiments.
Other than those points, delicious! Thanks guys!

After seven days in Spain and no craft beer in sight I was not looking forward to another seven days on vacation without my tasty beers. Sure there is San Miguel, Estrella, and Heineken beer, but nothing worthy of my love for a hoppy IPA
so listen, I love craft beer, I love Oregon beer, but I do not love going seven days with out craft beer –it weakens my soul–
can you sense my sadness?
So after a few failed attempts at finding a place for craft beer in my first seven days abroad, I had begun to lose hope… however once in Barcelona we found the one and only Cat Bar — establishment of fine craft beer, IPA’s, Porters and delicious frothy goodness!
The chalk board selection has 12 (rotating?) to choose from, and the usual suspects. great selection of vegan food, free wi-​fi and hipster music.
I don’t think I’ll plan another trip abroad without knowing the beer situation before hand, but Car Bar you saved the day and my sanity!

He ido varias veces, tanto a por una cerveza como a comer y he tenido una experiencia siempre positiva.
El seitán y el hummus son excelentes, pero es que sus sopas de legumbres… TO DIE FOR.
La selección de cervezas es muy amplia y hasta la repostería está muy bien.
Pero creo que he olvidado mencionar lo mejor… GATOS. Decoración de gatos por todos los lados.
Lo recomiendo a todo el mundo, vegano o no y sobretodo a los amantes de la cerveza!

Vegano buenisimo y a buen precio! Estilo alternativo! Plato tipico: hamburguesa con patatas! Acompañado de una cerveza con caracter como la BrewDog!!!

Si eres vegano y te gusta la cerveza, es tu lugar!
Es un bar con cervezas artesanales y importadas Clase A, con pintas de Brew Dog, fantastico!
La especialidad culinaria son las hamburguesas veganas. Pero no son de dieta y por eso son sabrosas. Enormes! las papas vienen con una salsita mágica.

Good vegan food. Simple and nice.
