La Flauta

Barcelona is one of my fav cities. I have stayed in the area several times and been to many restaurants. Almost always, you get excellent food in Barcelona.
The food is OK. If I had gotten the same quality of food in NJ, I would have given it 4 stars. Compared to many other restaurants serving tapas, this one is definitely not among the top. The service is good, as in most other restaurants around here. The price is very fair too.
I would definitely go back there for lunch but would look elsewhere for dinner.

We had a strange experience here! We walked in, were ignored by the two waiters who eyed us as we looked around. We walked into the front where locals were dining. Finally I said hello in Spanish and he waved/​shooed us down to the back part of the restaurant where we were greeted in English and handed English menus. I thought this was strange. Seemed like a bit of a tourist trap sorta deal, which was weird as I had heard such great stuff about the restaurant.
Anyway despite this– the food was good (if a bit greasy) and waiter who spoke English was really nice.
We ordered patatas Bravas, anchovies and a tapas platter that had croquettes, seafood and green peppers.
It was an inexpensive meal and we were full by the end.
I think there are better tapas places out there– also more authentic ones too. But if you just want the food without having to read Spanish on the menu and guess what it is or communicate in Spanish with a waiter– then this is the place for you.

Sencillamente buenísimo. Calidad precio perfecto.
Aunque la especialidad son las flautas, por cierto buenísimas, hay una amplia cantidad de tapas y menús que puedes escoger entre gran cantidad de opciones y todas buenas.
El local precioso y amplio.
El servicio correcto.
La única pega las colas en horas puntas, así que ir con tiempo.
Una muy buena opción, la recomiendo.

Et oui, un autre restaurant à tapas comme il y en a des centaines (peut être des milliers) à Barcelone. La Flauta est un endroit vraiment très bien. Le décor est plutôt du genre classe (c’est pas le bar de rue lambda) sans être guindé. L’accueil est vraiment sympathique et attentionné.
La nourriture (puisque c’est quand même pour ça que l’on vient) est bonne et bien préparée. Nous étions venus pour des tapas. Rien n’est trop cuit (et en particulier les fruits de mer) et c’est plutôt bon. Sans pour autant être exceptionnelle (d’où les 4 étoiles au lieu de 5). Car pour le prix payé, on s’attend quand même à un peu mieux (même si on était invités ce soir là :p)
Rien à dire de plus. Je recommande cet endroit, avec réservation si vous le pouvez car il y a souvent la queue, d’après ce que l’on nous a dit.

Es un lugar ideal para ir en grupo, el local es enorme. El servicio es muy atento, van muy rápidos en pedir y servirte. La sala es muy grande, cosa que si tienes una comida con mucha gente sea muy buen lugar, pero para mi gusto poco acogedor si tienes una comida más íntima.
La comida está muy rica, la especialidad de la casa son, obviamente, las flautas, bien delgaditas y rellenitas, pero también tienen toda variedad de tapas para compartir que están muy buenas (me encantó el revuelto de espinacas con marisco!), así que quien no quiera pan, no tendrá ningún problema en encontrar una alternativa para comer bien.

We came here thinking it was the original La Flauta (close by), but were confused– this is what they have called «La Flauta II». We came in at sat ourselves at around 3:30pm for an afternoon meal at the bar. Service was quick. We had 3 tapas and a few coffees. Noticed that many people around us came in for a quick meal– a sandwich (4 – 5 €) and a wine. We didn’t have any wine but it looked like the people around us enjoyed it.
Everything is priced well, but we thought the food was okay… I’m not even sure I would recommend this place based on what we ate. We did have the egg/​potato concoction. It was fine. Nothing extravagant. In fact, I wish we had just a simple sandwich or other tapa item instead. The coffees we had were delicious, though… Really good stuff and at a good price 1.2 €. If we had more time here, I believe I would give it another shot. The next time, I would just go in for a simple sandwich and coffee.

Solid spot. Other than the 2 wait staff arguing at one another before getting seated, the food was delicious. I would suggest the anchovies, jamon and grilled calamari. We came here late so some of the staff were finishing up their shift and eating in a round table in the back. I actually appreciated that. Very encouraging to know they also eat the same things we were eating.

Came here for my first meal in Barcelona. Friend recommended to get here early. They open at 1pm so we go there and sat ourself. Only one waiter spoke a lil bit of English so we had to wait for him. I guess he was busy with a larger table but he kept brushing is off. Eventually he came to our table and said in Spanish to let him finish with the other table first. I found it a bit pretentious especially with the fact we came and sat first on our table. I wasn’t going to let them spoil our first meal in Barcelona… we eventually got him to help us and at that point you can tell he didn’t want to. My wife asked for his recommendation which was already a no no since he was not in the mood.
Food was decent. Don’t get the pork, it’s not good. The fried fish was good and their omelet was pretty big.
I just wish our first eatery place in Barcelona wasn’t so pretentious.

YOHOOOOOO por finnn, resulta que solía ir a la flauta 1 pero que ultimamente solo ando por Barcelona los dias festivos y ellos decidieron no abrir, así que encontrar que había una Flauta 2 me hizo mucha ilusión.
El local GENIAl, Los camareros de lo más serviciales, (a excepción de uno que parecía encargado que bostezaba junto a la puerta de la cocina de forma que no resultaba muy propia de un restaurante como este).
El producto espectacular y la relación calidad precio intachable. FELICIDADES ahi me tendréis en adelante.

Loved that this place had a huge variety of food. The waiter was super nice and spoke english pretty well (even though he was convinced he could only speak a little english).
We asked him for recommendations on what to order so he told us to get the fries with sunny side up egg (DELICIOUS) and a trio of appetizers, as well as a bottle of wine. We were both very stuffed and happy with the food. Though it says the place closes at 12AM, we actually left around 2:30AM, almost close to 3AM, so it was nice that they didn’t kick us out. There were also a lot of other patrons at this place around that time.

Loved this place. Food was afforable but very good. I can’t believe the price of wine in Spain! So incredibly inexpensive. Our host recommended this place to us and we wanted to go back for a second night, but it was too crowded. They give preference to their local regulars, so don’t be too alarmed if you see someone come after you and get seated before you. I recommend come early or very late.

I loved La Flauta. All of our servers we really friendly. They helped us pick out a wine for my friend who loves sweet white wines. The first choice we picked would not have been good for our meal– our friend ordered it with dessert, and it was like honey. They suggested another wine instead, and it was perfect for our meal.
There is a long line for this restaurant. We put our name in and then went and got gin and tonics down the street.
I would definitely go back.

Restaurante estupendo en cuanto calidad precio, es ideal para ir con amigos y cenar muy bien en un buen ambiente.
Los dos restaurantes que tienen siempre están a tope y será por su éxito, lo recomiendo totalmente.

Gosh I love the tapas at this place! Definitely a place to eat at if you love tapas. Be sure to get here early, b/​c after 9:30, the place is packed!

Si entras en La Flauta es imposible que des la vuelta y no te quedes a comer. A este enorme local de comida mediterránea se accede por un pasillo en el que, al comensal se le va haciendo la boca agua. Una enorme barra-​escaparate te da la bienvenida con pinchos, productos frescos, mariscos y carnes.
No creas que se queda en las flautas, sino todo lo contrario. La zona de restaurante ofrece menú diario con primero, segundo, postre y bebida por 12 euros.
Spaguettis boloñesa, trinxat, atún a la plancha, lomo con salsa barbacoa… cada día platos diferentes y un surtido de 5 ó 6 primeros, segundos y postres, para elegir.
Un lugar perfecto para grupos, cenas o comidas de trabajo y reuniones informales. La relación calidad precio es muy buena. Aceptan Tickets Restaurante.

There are lots of good things about this place and some not so good things, so while I’m putting down three stars, I’m verging more towards 2.5.
Of the good things, right off the bat, I went in fairly late to have a nice dinner (around 11 – 12) and while there was a long line it actually moved forward fairly quickly and the wait was probably under half an hour. There was some debate as to how fresh the seafood was. My personal opinion is that everything tasted good and was seasoned well but that they tend to undercook (to my taste) slightly leaving things a bit softer as opposed to overcooking. Also, it might have just been that they were so busy they just tossed things on the grill until they were past the point of being raw.
My advice is to ask for a menu written in whatever language you speak. They probably have it as this restaurant is situated near some hotels and a lot of tourists seemed to be there. Order product (fish, shrimp, vegetables, squid, etc.) as opposed to trying to wander through the menu unless you know what you want. It was very affordable. For 3 people with maybe 6 – 7 small plates tapas style it came out to around 60 euros.
Everything was fairly average. The place is a little loud. It’s not exactly fine dining. Everything’s a little crowded. If you try and get up from the table to use the restroom or leave the restaurant you run the risk of being run over by a waiter. If you can deal with that, then this place is a nice, affordable choice.

Me encantan los bocadillos estos a los que le ponen de nombre «flauta». Con un pan alargado, crujiente, rico rico. Así que decidí un día ir a comer a este sitio, ya que había pasado varias veces por delante. Los bocadillos están buenos, aunque para mi gusto un pelín caro. Te sirven rápido pero suele estar lleno y con un ambiente bastante ruidoso, la verdad, cosa que yo detesto y ha hecho que no volviese más…
