Milans Cocktail Bar

I ended up in Milans with my friend when we visited Barcelona a few weeks back because it was right across the street from the flat where we were staying, and we hoped to have another drink before turning in on our first night. It’s a neat, twisty, multi-​level bar with a fun, colorful, cozy atmosphere. It is, I think, the most local bar we visited, and it was a great experience.
Milans is marked here on Unilocal as a gay bar, though I couldn’t have told you that when we visited. What I’m trying to say is that it’s not in any way uncomfortable, it’s open-​minded and free. To me, it was just a nice bar where I had a cocktail and did some people watching under a neon haze.
Milans is also really well located within the Barri Gotic, which means that when you’re wandering through the twisting streets and alleys, it’s a great place to pop in for a drink. Everyone was friendly and the service was good, despite my poor Spanish in ordering. All around, it was a good place for at least part of the evening!

No son tantos los bares que evolucionan rápidamente. Lo normal es elegir un estilo y mantenerse fieles a ello hasta el fin de los tiempos. Pues la normalidad no es una característica que pueda atribuírsele a este lugar. Durante el verano pasado se trataba de un espacio simple de franceses para franceses.
Pero desde hace unos meses dieron un giro radical, adornaron las paredes con trabajos de artistas locales y pusieron equipos para que Djs deleitaran a los asistentes. El ambiente ya no está rebalsado de tonadas francesas. Ahora se caracteriza por la nutrida internacionalidad de la clientela. Que elijen entre sentarse a beber copas a precio normal o escoger alguno de los juegos de mesa como dominó para pasar el rato.
Imposible no verlo gracias a la nube de jóvenes que hacen las veces de señalización humana al fumar, marcando la puerta de acceso.
De momento la fórmula funciona, pero no sería extraño volver dentro de unos meses para encontrar otro sitio totalmente distinto. Habrá que darse una vuelta.
